National Capitol the Furthest South

Bored again today in the 'natti.  I was going through the logs and found we were visited by the country with the southern most capitol in the world.  Quite exciting this computer magic.

Anyways, my buddy Jason is teaching today in Cinci too, and got in last night.  So we did what any sound individual would:  get drunk at Applebee's.  Luckily Applebee's is actually visible from my hotel, so after our third tall beer, we just hoofed it home.  Btw, 69oz of beer + 9oz steak + order of buffalo chicken tenders is a lot to put in your stomach.

I wish we had an O'Charley's nearby.  A taste test must be done between the Boneless Chicken Wings of Applebee’s vs. the buffalo style wings.  Right now, I'm giving the edge to Applebee's.  Blasphemy, I know.

Oh yeah, we were also visited by a computer named deptvachi-cp.va.gov. That's the department of veterans affairs. Cue the X-Files music.

WTF?

Some try to go here: http://216.250.116.41/cp/awstats/aw...?config=enkafan

It should be the stats for the webpage. I wonder if anyone can read these...

Rafferty's is better than Applebees and O'Charleys combined

Phil on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 8:26 AM

I see Rafferty's also has "Hot Fingers." Perhaps we'll have the ultimate wing style tender throw down.

Post attempt:
It has been a pain to read and not be able to post, but finally!

Brock on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 10:31 AM

What part of Cincy are you in, Phil? If you are that bored, I know of some great watering holes.

kellie on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 10:32 AM

brock, is michelle feeling better?

Brock on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 10:34 AM

Yes.... she just needed more beer!

Church on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 10:39 AM

Maybe she just wanted to go to the alley. You never cease to amaze me Brock

Brock on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 10:45 AM

I'm not going to explain what happened there... mainly because I can't remember. However, G-dogs from Dixie have no business at Flanagans anyway, except my boot!

Phil on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 10:56 AM

Hey Brock, I'm not actually in the city of Cinci, I'm at exit 15 of I-71. I wonder if that sniper dork will shot at my car on the way back friday.

I'd take you up on the drinkin', but I already exhausted my get drunk time. I need to prepare for another freakin' class while I've got time alone this week.

Bastards.

Here is a Trivia Question for you....

In 1949, how light did Popular Mechanics magazine predict computers would eventually be?

Phil on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 11:38 AM

My guess would be one ton.

adrian on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 11:46 AM

Very good guess PhilCo, but I will wait and see if anyone else has a guess before posting the answer.

Brock on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 12:03 PM

I'm going with the crazy Price Is Right guess of 1 dollar.... I mean pound.

Phil on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 12:16 PM

Well, I know the answer know...Thanks google!

Marc on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 12:22 PM

If only they could predict that those one-ton computers would be used primarily for porn. it has other uses, like looking up adrians' question. go phil and google! but by being able to look up information more swiftly and from many sources, free for all those that have the knowledge to do so, really saves a lot of time to look up some hot all-american girl-on-girl hardcore porn.

wait i don't want to discriminate.............they could be korean. lol

Phil on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 12:27 PM

hot korean girl-on-girl pr0n? I'm at work, I can't be getting a stiffy you bastards.

adrian on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 12:30 PM

The correct answer was "no more than 1.5 tons". Phil was very close.

Jay on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 2:03 PM

The damn internet has been down all day. Our IT department is crap. By the, Korean girl on girl porn is AWSOME. I KNOW from experience

Marc on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 5:15 PM

Phil thought you might like this. http://randomfoo.net/oscon/2002/lessig/free.html Plus what else do you have to do there? This is a flash aimation built upon a speaker, Professor Lawrence Lessig from Harvard University. It discusses the progression of copywright enfringement in all forms of media (film, software, television, etc) taking over and eliminating the unregulated copywright and free use rule. (More interesting than it sounds.) Long but very interesting. Church might like this too, although discusses no asshat dictators like Kaiser Fletcher.

adrian on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 5:44 PM

Church would only like that anmation if it involved 12 year old girls...I mean boys!

Brock on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 8:40 PM

I know this is off the topic, but I wanted to ask. Metallica comes to Louisville on April 28, and the tickets go on sale at 10AM on Feb 14th, anyone going??!

Church on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 4:57 AM

Adrian you're a bitch, you would only like the clip if it involved ten year olds, Jaeger, and Lord of the Rings

Brock on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 6:20 AM

Dude! Be more specific! He prefers 10 year olds with pigtails, Jaeger with balls in his mouth, and Lord of the Rings:The Two Towers

Phil on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 6:46 AM

It's Jäger, you jackasses.

kellie on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 7:14 AM

oh my god, they ran over pluto!

Jay on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 10:21 AM

There is some controversy on whether or not Pluto is a planet or a planetoid. Maybe this will clear up the confusion.
