But Monopoly is based on true events.

Fuck off. There have been worse reasons for a new post. Time for a good ol' fashion Monopoly War.

i was originally going to use the clip from Role Models, but I couldn't find the video.

Beth: Yes, Wheeler?
Wheeler: This may be a stupid question. The Get Out of Jail Free Card: Is that real?
Beth: That's a stupid question.
Danny: It's real in the game of Monopoly.
Wheeler: But Monopoly is based on true events.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 5:28 PM

who is our target?

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 5:33 PM

so, here's what I'm thinking

i assume we are all pulling in 8 million+ a day now, so once the new payday comes we should be set for cash for this plan.

I say we each find some street in the middle of nowhere that's long as fuck (e.g. 191st Tank Battalion Rd). Start building those little buildings. We theoretically could build 140 of those bastards. That should get a ton of chance cards. That should provide the opportunities to bulldoze and build hazards. Just pick him apart that way.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 6:38 PM

so my new neighbor Christina is a totally strict muslim. Full Hijab and everything. She never even parks near the building for some reason. Her husband has a pretty awesome beard too. But their kids look and act totally normally.

Well...I just heard her speak for the first time. She's got a southern accent and just said "Damn it, I forgot to get bread when I was out at Sams" to what looked like her buddy who was lounging in a tank top smoking on her porch.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 7:04 PM

I completely agree Philco, nice strategy. I'll be on around 10 or so, if you guys are on we can totally fuck him up.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 7:06 PM

CHRISROBY is the sonofabitch.

I'd recommend signing on at 24:00 GMT so you get your payout before anyone else has a chance to sabotage your property. You can sit on the cash afterward.

mowgli on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 8:01 PM

Wes- We close Oct 23. We aren't sure when we will be moving cause there is some painting to do and we are putting tile down in the kitchen. We will be trying to bribe people to help move probably Halloween weekend or the weekend after that.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 8:08 PM

Lynnie - Let me know if you need flooring. My old man might be able to get you some good deals.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:15 PM

Hey guys are you on?

I have 16M to play with.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:23 PM

I'm here. Lets do some damage.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:30 PM

Will do.

I am playing as we speak. I had a chance to build a prison but we need to tear down some of his shit first.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:31 PM

I put a hazard on I-71 to block his biggest money maker.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:31 PM

If you get another hazard, put it on his Whitney Ave.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:31 PM

I really despise Chance cards that take 3.5M.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:35 PM

Brock - i tried to hit him with a hazard on i-71 earlier but didn't have room

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:38 PM

I've got a demo card. What do you want to hit? Let me know if you get a hazard card.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:43 PM

hold it till i get one.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:44 PM

fucking accountant just cost me 4.5M

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:45 PM

I hate those!

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:45 PM

Dude, this guy is sabotaging the properties I have in Nashville. Douche.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:45 PM

i have a demo permit. which street do you want to hit?

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:48 PM

Hit Longfield or Evelyn.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:51 PM

on W. Evelyn he has two constructions that protect his street. do you want to hit the stadium and me the library/school structure?

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:53 PM

I hit longfield. It was just full and made more money. Hit Evelyn and I'll hit it again if I get a bulldozer.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:53 PM

of course we could just hit two of his biggest buildings that provide rent. I found that he has a honeycomb structure that gives him near $1M per day.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:55 PM

I got another bulldozer. I'll hit Evelyn with it. That'll open the door.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:59 PM

i took out one of his high rise buildings.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:00 PM

back from hockey.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:01 PM

got a sewage plan

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:02 PM

I'm down to $300K, so my opportunities for Chance cards is running out. I'll probably get the rest taken from me by some dumbass accountant.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:03 PM

Phil, put it on Longfield or W Evelyn from CHRISROBY

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:04 PM

not enough space on longfield. w evelyn is protected

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:04 PM

I got a bulldozer. I'll make space on Longfield.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:06 PM

do these things queue up or do i got use them or lose them?

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:07 PM

I Just hit Longfield with a prison

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:08 PM

You can do some things, but if you get another card, you lose the previous one.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:09 PM

fuck it, i just dropped the sewage plant on I-71 so he's got one more thing to deal with to get that sucker back

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:10 PM

...and I'm spent. He still has $16M in cash on hand. I expect some serious retaliation.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:10 PM

Make sure you guys protect your money makers with multiple bonus buildings.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:10 PM

yeah he is going to be pissed. is he playing now?

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:11 PM

I don't think he's playing now. Probably waiting to see what we do. All of my big streets have at least 2 bonuses.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:11 PM

fuck him. I got the mother fucking 191st Tank Battalion backing me up

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:12 PM

I got a sewer plant, can anybody hit him with something?

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:12 PM

Phil, don't waste your money on City Center Cottages. They are only worth $75K and you can put two of the tiny $50K buildings in the same spot. Thus, $100K instead of $75K.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:14 PM

I like the double-screwjob on I-71.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:15 PM

fuck it i'll give him a triple screw job

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:17 PM

he has this big ass building in spaghetti junction called the tri-rectangular tower. can you guys hit that?

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:21 PM

shit, just opened up longfield with a bulldozer.

i was using the city center cottages in so that i could fill up some streets. I'm buying some freaking huge ones down by ft. knox. gotta fill them up to help protect them

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:22 PM

chrisroby is back in action...

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:24 PM

he's going to be so pissed. He just cleared one on I-71 and I hit him again.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:25 PM

I just randomly got $150K.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:25 PM

I was down to $30K, now I have $150K. Interesting...

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:26 PM

who's bitching about that.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:27 PM

I am still sitting at just above $8M

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:27 PM

No bitching. Just would like to know how I can keep doing whatever it was I did to get it.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:28 PM

Wes, you are due for one of those $3.5M screwjobs by the Chance card.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:28 PM

i'm about to open up longfield. anyone got a hazard?

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:30 PM

CHRISROBY is trying fuck with Phil's rural empire.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:31 PM

you know, that's a shit street. it's like an easy mark for him. i'm gonna let him play with it...

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:32 PM

He's got Longfield and Whitney back on track.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:33 PM

i'll let you know when i get something.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:33 PM

i got a demolition permit.

does he have any big ass building anywhere?

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:34 PM

or does anybody have a hazard?

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:35 PM

i can take down his $3M dollar building

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:36 PM

I just took down his $3.9M building on I-71 that gives him $1.2M daily. He's going to be so fucking pissed.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:37 PM

he hit me again in the boonies. moving on to another big ass street.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:38 PM

Who wouldn't want to live on FD-1003?

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:40 PM

Are you taking over Fort Knox? Do you get the gold too?

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:40 PM

wait! it was someone new! DERBYGUY!

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:40 PM

uh oh what just happened?

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:41 PM

DERBYGUY hit me with a hazard. I don't know if they are in cahoots or not.

But I hit him with a prison where you took down his 3.9m building

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:42 PM

I don't see him anywhere?

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:42 PM

give me a street he has.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:42 PM

not sure. he just was in my alert window thing as doing the do

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:43 PM

You can click on his name in the alert to find him.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:44 PM

i have a sewage plant to build.

I don't see him in the alert find.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:46 PM

I just got another $80K

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:47 PM

you know, CHRISROBY just sold a tiny street to him. Derbyguy just sent all his money to CHRISROBY in exchange for some shit roads.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:47 PM

I thought that is what he was doing. I bet he is both players.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:48 PM

CHRISROBY has made 4 million dollars selling shitty roads to people over the past 5 minutes. What a fagot

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:49 PM

i mean, compared to us who are clearly cool.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:49 PM

The game gets reset tomorrow night. Shall we create aliases to fuck this guy up?

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:51 PM

found him on facebook. i say we just drive to his house and write "CREATE A FAKE ACCOUNT TO STOP THIS, MOTHERFUCKER!" on the side of it

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:51 PM

Exaclty.

I think we should. I think natty sci needs to make it their mission that everyone joins and fucks with this guy.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:52 PM

I'm gonna find his mom and skullfuck her.

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:55 PM

This is comical!

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:56 PM

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:56 PM

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:57 PM

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:57 PM

i think we've made our point. hopefully when they reset it they'll do a better job of preventing multiple accounts like this

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:57 PM

Brock are you stalking him on Facebook?

Are you going to taunt him?

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:58 PM

He really has to be hating me right now. I just tore down another $2M building.

Phil on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:59 PM

i'm pretty sure from what i found the dude is pre-law

Brock on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:59 PM

I just feel like its futile if this douche is just going to keep re-upping his cash with fake accounts.

Brock on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:00 AM

Unless we can hack his account and sell shit to ourselves. That would be pleasant.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:00 AM

yeah can we contact the game?

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:00 AM

fuck it, we should be a terrorist organization and just blow his shit up for cheating.

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:02 AM

oh it's futile. let's be honest, it's a stupid fucking game that's going away tomorrow. the goal is to grief him, not get worked up ourselves.

Brock on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:04 AM

Rambo is on!

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:05 AM

Longfield Ave. is open.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:05 AM

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:13 AM

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:18 AM

Another $2M building gone.

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:19 AM

and i'm done.

i like that you and brock are now listed as having 117% activity in this game.

Brock on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:22 AM

I guess its the extra cash I randomly got.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:23 AM

Dude Congress Alley is just begging to be fucked with.

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:26 AM

god damn it wes. i sold some shitty property i bought. 8 houses....cooooooooooome on hazard!

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:29 AM

Dude Congress wasn't yours was it?

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:29 AM

not mine

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:29 AM

sorry, i was saying god damn it because you kept me up

Brock on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:31 AM

Is it worth selling everything to torture this guy?

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:31 AM

poor bastard that owns congress alley has a negative score. he has no money. if you build a hazard he's done. that's his only street.

i say let him be

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:32 AM

So this dipshit built 5 buildings that were all $1M plus without protecting it.

I am doing him a favor and destroying it. So far my damage to him is $7.8M. What a fucktard.

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:33 AM

i think the dude gave up. no activity. i say we declare victory of the infamous CHRISROBY.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:33 AM

I think Brock started freaking the dude out by stalking him on Facebook.

Brock on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:37 AM

Phil stalked him on Facebook. Don't put that on me.

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:39 AM

i know an absolute shit ton about this guy. all in all he's probably somebody we'd be friends with, after we punched him in the face about being a shit head for having multiple accounts to win at online jeopardy.

Brock on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:40 AM

Isn't that a rule for being part of Natty Sci? Getting punched? ... or is that just special for me.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:41 AM

We drink, we get punched, it happens.

Adrian knocked stewie out on Vampire Stewie night.

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:42 AM

I threw stewie into the floor that night too.

The boy has survived Iraq and is now in Afghanistan. I'd like to think we prepared him for that just as much as boot camp.

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:44 AM

another glouchester house for sale.
http://glarmls.com/GLARReports/List...g_id=7914367524

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:45 AM

Fuck it why not?

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:48 AM

pure laziness

Brock on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:50 AM

With the new Molly Malone's going in there, you wouldn't even notice the difference. Hell, you might even be closer to the establishments.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:52 AM

Where is the new Molly's going in at?

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 1:06 AM

new molly malones is gonna be at the old bw3s that was katty-corner from the old white castle, down near the old sears building.

the old bw3s moved into the old halley cooke shopping center, near where the new circuit city used to be.

joe on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 7:56 AM

The new house for sale is across the street from me and about 4 houses closer to browns lane. They have done a shit ton of fixing it up over the past couple years I think..

joe on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 7:58 AM

It is pretty much my house except the stairs fot the upstairs are in the middle of the house and the basement steps are off the side of the house.

joe on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 9:08 AM

There are also a couple houses for sale behind me on Winchester for sale. One is caddy corner to my backyard and the other backs up to Nourbourne estates and is on Winchester and Meridian.

douglas on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:01 AM

so just got done reading the recap from last night. wow...

Phil on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:08 AM

last night was the dangers of having a laptop in front of the tv. it can get out of hand quickly.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:33 AM

Philco - I was just thinking how bad a laptop would be for me. Especially on Saturdays when I just want to watch football and blow up that guys shit.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 12:02 PM

Douglas - it was pretty pathetic to say the least.

joe on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 4:07 PM

Anyone that actually wants to start around 6 let us know so maybe we can limit the number of cars on the road. Fuck going green, no DUI's is a good thing, but mostly trying to figure out how to get all our cars from wherever we are.

some streets are more expensive this time around. For example, La Grange went from $1m to $3.1M

Bigworm on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 9:43 AM

Is there a trick to the Bambi Walk? I'm trying to hydrate and eat right before we start so I don't die. I'm tempted to load up my pockets with food items that will soak up booze like animal crackers or something.

Phil on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:36 AM

the main trick to the bambi walk is to keep moving. you need to attack the bambi walk. it isn't something to enjoy - it's something to beat. you can't lollygag at bars and you certainly can't randomly decide to do a couple rounds of shots and some place and play some pool.

My concern with attacking is going too fast and drinking too much beer too quick and then not making it. I would think that an intermediate pace would work best. I don't want to pull any rookie mistakes.

Phil on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:42 AM

i think there are built in fail safes with that. the first collection of bars are so spread out, and the service is so shitty you are looking at a minimum of 30 minutes per drink if you hustle.

our problem has always been "damn, another 10 minute walk. i should get another beer to tide me over! Woooooooooooooooo!" and then by the time we get to Zs pizza we have been drinking two or three beers at each bar and are done by 11pm.

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:53 AM

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:56 AM

What is the line of bar vs. restraunt? Do we include Mark's Feed Store because they serve beer? Is it only places that have the name bar or pub in it?

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:59 AM

Is there an official bambi walk or do you just make it up as you go?

Phil on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 11:12 AM

so in explanation of last night.

we tried to implement operation dumbo drop.

brent is a lightweight and i was my typical drunk self. we were getting killed at trivia so the attention turned to the girls. there was a semi-cute blond, with a great body and a jean skirt. in our infinite wisdom, it was determined if we could get her to bend over near the top of the stairs then everyone at the table would have an A+ view. We just needed the opportunity to present itself for her to present herself.

So I volunteered to be the point man for the operation. Our plan was simple. Monitor her coming in from the door. Once she got there we'd swoop into action. I'd take the full pad of paper in, tear the answer off the pad and accidently drop the pad on the ground at the top of the stairs. She'd be right behind me and couldn't help but assist me by bending over and grabbing the pad. In no way could this plan fail, right?

So we did a dry run and it worked out well. But on this run, I purposely bumped into ross thus dropping the pad in a natural fashion. Ross even picked up the pad for me.

Well we only had two rounds left to swoop into action. The second to last one I sat and sat and sat and sat. Answers had to be in. In my alcohol induced haze I was drunk confident that someone else had turned in the answer for her. Surely they weren't waiting that long. Plus there was a crowd at the top that would prevent 1) her from being the one to pick up the pad and 2) a good view, so I went to go turn in the answer. She came in moments after I sat down - opportunity lost, but I feel that regardless of my performance that it the mission was not ready for launch at that moment due to the timing

Which led us with only the final question to make this happen. We rushed and answer together and sat ready to attack at a moment's notice. But I was drunk. Brent's yelling shit; Josh is grabbing my telling me to wait. I saw her come in and I paniced. I didn't trust Josh's timing. He was cutting it too close, I was sure of it. So in a rush I hoped up and made me way up the stairs. I tried to pull the "missed the last step, slam my foot into it and drop the pad" but without a reherasal it came off as forced and unnatural. She was surely onto us. She turned in her answer and made her way down the stairs, my pad still sitting there limp and useless.

And so was turner as he just stared in quite bemusement at our failures to look up a girls skirt.

Phil on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 11:26 AM

oh, do the bambi walk. i think there are an official set of bars that say they want to participate when they do the shirt one. it's really open season. But I think it's pretty obvious what places are restaurants and which are bars.

Phil on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 11:28 AM

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 11:34 AM

I don't like clicking on certain links at work.

Phil on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 11:36 AM

oh, sorry. not a list for the bambi walk. it's for the bambino walk. starts at BW3s. Ends at Outlook.

Or as I call it - Tuesdays.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 12:33 PM

I have been unable to find a list of official bars, but everything that I have read is that you hit up all the bars on the street. My thoughts are to hit up most places with a free standing bar or have bar in the name of the place. So Bearno's would count for a free standing bar and the Bristoll would count for "Bar and Grille."

Phil on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 1:04 PM

yeah, i think it's just a judgement call that you gotta play by ear. what counts is hard to define, but i think we all know a bar when we see one.

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 1:09 PM

I disagree with chris on the Bristol. Is dundee close enough to Bardstown Road, and is the Back Door considered Bardstown Road?

Phil on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 1:25 PM

i think both count.

But I say any place with an entre over $20 is out of the question.

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 1:34 PM

I agree with dundee and back door. I may protest the Bristol.

Bigworm on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 1:51 PM

We can "Bambi Walk" from our condo to downtown Nashville on Thursday.

I hope you guys warmed your livers up for the next month of killing them.

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 3:42 PM

I'd like to think that I have been trying to practice. I'm thinking since labor day through next weekend that I probably successfully will acheive blacked out drunk every weekend.

Jay on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 3:57 PM

I don't know if that is really an accomplishment, Joe. And I'm headed into town right after work, in about 3 minutes.

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 3:58 PM

I take that back, Labor day I don't think I blacked out but Phil and I drink a shit ton between fantasy football draft and a long day of watching UL football. My b-day last weekend was ugly, the bambi walk today and brock's bachelor party. I guess the weekend inbetween bachelor party and wedding needs to be a drunken experience. Wedding I assume will turn drunk. We need a Jay bachelor party soon to follow. Then there is Halloween on a Saturday. Then we have Jays wedding. Then we have Thanksgiving holiday and like a Jay and Wes b-day. Then we have Christmas, Phil's b-day and New Years. Lets just stay drunk till New Years.

joe on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 3:59 PM

When did we quit being blacked out drunk every weekend? It is a shame.

But we still have 10 records that matter. And by the way, if someone even hints at approaching Bonds' 73 by doing it naturally ... how great would that be? Something to root for. Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2:11 PM

Do we really have a plan for the bachelor party besides consume large quantities of alcohol and act like jackasses? We will start by doing this in Nashville and then migrate to Memphis and do it there while visiting Beale St and possibly Graceland. We didn't die in NOLA, so hopefully Memphis won't be any worse unless we are just tempting fate.

Brock on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 3:25 PM

Phil, those pictures make me regret not doing the bachelor party in the motherland, Germany. I have visions of "Beerfest" meets "European Vacation."

As for plans. We will have at least one, maybe two, Memphis locals meeting up with us at various times, so we have that going for us.

Since I finished my monthly lab meeting today, I have a little more time this week to look into specifics for the trip. Right now, all I know is where our hotel is and where the bars are.

Do we want to rent a van to go down to Memphis? Does anyone have access to a van? My dad's conversion van is currently out of action or Ty would be bringing that. 2-4 guys are coming down from Cincy and Chip is coming from Bowling Green. From Louisville, Chris, Joe, and Marc are in. I am assuming Phil is in and Jay has been flip-flopping. Jason may come down for Thursday night. There are 3-4 guys from Nashville planning to head out at least Thursday and maybe 1-2 will be coming down Friday.

Now you know why its been so hard to nail down a headcount and decide on hotel rooms. Try doing that with 200 people and you have our wedding.

Jay on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 3:40 PM

What time are you planning on leaving from here on Thursday?

joe on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 3:46 PM

I would pull for 6-6:30. I don't get home from work till 5:15 roughly then after rallying up the troops it would be close to 6-6:30. 180 mile drive roughly? That makes it 9:00 - 9:30, subtract 1 hour for time zone makes it 8:00 - 8:30. I'd say 7:00 at the latest leaving.

Phil on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 3:55 PM

I think team Natty Sci should try and win the next Netflix Million Dollar Prize

"The new contest is going to present the contestants with demographic and behavioral data, and they will be asked to model individuals’ “taste profiles,” the company said. The data set of more than 100 million entries will include information about renters’ ages, gender, ZIP codes, genre ratings and previously chosen movies."
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/...new-contest/?hp

Phil on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 4:02 PM

Hmmm. Car situation could prove tricky, especially with 5 people.

I guess the options are my car, Chris's car and Big Jay's car. Jay and I might have the comfiest ride down there. Jay might have the best gas mileage. Chris's is the least likeliest to get car jacked in Memphis. My car has a navigation system and shit. Chris and Jay both drive autos, so that comes in handy. But I don't mind doing the driving. Rather do that than sit bitch for three hours, honestly.

douglas on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 4:04 PM

i do know netflix's rating systems sucks. whenever i rate movies poorly i always get 'recommendations' for movies that suck just as bad as the one i just rated like a one star, or recommendations for movies i've already seen

Phil on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 4:11 PM

I think with my computer nerdy skill, joe's math skills and marc's movie knowledge we have a decent basis to get "something" entered.

But here's my idea for how to rank them. The Stereotypes Save Time algorithm. We pull in demographic data about the zip codes, combine that with the gender and age and we can come up with some really solid racist movie suggestions.

We just need to come up with a good list of generic movie stereotypes.

joe on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 4:16 PM

If Ty is coming down from Louisville Thursday we have 6, 3 and 3.

Phil on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 5:16 PM

Man, six people throws a serious wrench in the equation.

Doesn't anyone have a mom with a minivan or some shit? We can get a minivan from Enterprise for $ 365.76 USD, but we only get 600 miles. .15 per extra mile so that works out to an extra $45 assuming we drive 900 total miles.

Assuming about $100 worth of gas, we'd be looking at $500 for travel split 6 ways. So $84 each.

Jay is rethinking coing down on Thursday, so that adds another variable to this equation. Brock, is Ty going to hitch a ride with us? I don't really think renting a mini-van to go to Nashville is worth it. The 15 passenger to Memphis might be a good idea though depending on the price.

We haven't been able to get it down to Nashville, but Ty is planning to drive a U-Haul or Budget truck down with the bedroom suit. Potentially, you all could pile into the back of a box truck like a bunch of Mexicans.

Other options: my mom has a Mountaineer that seats 7, but she's very attached to it.

It's certainly possible Cincy could run the table, their schedule doesn't have any major roadblocks, and if they run the table in a BCS conference, then undoubtedly they can't be left out. But at the same time, they can't afford one stumble at all, they won't catch a break that Ohio state or USC or LSU will. They can get in with one loss, Cincy won't.

joe on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 8:56 AM

If UC is undefeated as well as an SEC or Big 12 school and there is a 1 loss Pac-10 team then I see UC getting booted.

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 9:11 AM

It would be hard to argue a 1-loss Pac-10 team getting in ahead of UC since they just went to Oregon and beat State. That's an apples-to-apples argument. Brian Kelly intentionally went out and scheduled as many BCS teams as reasonable in order to offset "conference power" arguments. They play Illinois later this season too.

My biggest concern was the trip to USF. UC has kicked their ass the last few years and they'll be looking for revenge; but with Grothe out that shouldn't be as stressful.

brock, it's a variation of this riddle:
Once upon a time a farmer went to market and purchased a fox, a goose, and a bag of beans. On his way home, the farmer came to the bank of a river and hired a boat. But in crossing the river by boat, the farmer could carry only himself and a single one of his purchases - the fox, the goose, or the bag of the beans.

If left alone, the fox would eat the goose, and the goose would eat the beans.

The farmer's challenge was to carry himself and his purchases to the far bank of the river, leaving each purchase intact. How did he do it?

the reference is wolf, goat and cabbage.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 12:50 PM

What kind of lab are you doing?

douglas on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 2:39 PM

so are we gonna' schedule any coordinated monopoly attacks?

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:07 PM

I've been letting this HOBOB guy have it. I can feel the back of his skull.

douglas on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:14 PM

i'll help you out then, i've been looking for someone to fuck with, i've discarded a bunch of chance cards

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:23 PM

It looks like he's sold all his property and just amassed a bunch of cash. I bet he'll buy up a bunch of property right before payday to collect the rent then sell it again. Its an interesting strategy because it prevents people from putting hazards on his properties.

douglas on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:24 PM

the thing i'm running into now is it seems all the good / more expensive streets have been bought up and i'm stuck getting the neighborhood roads

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:25 PM

This is the hotel we are staying at. In case anyone wanted to map out puking locations or strip clubs.

Tickets are $28.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:31 PM

That hotel looks way too nice for one of our bachelor parties. I see bad things happening to one of the Peabody ducks.

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:32 PM

that hotel has been a trivia question before

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:40 PM

Those last two posts seems connected in some way.

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:42 PM

There is no such thing a "too nice" hotel. The Barronne was a halfway classy hotel, but that didn't stop us from punching doors, drinking with Cajuns, and getting horseshit and skittles all over the carpet.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:43 PM

HOBOB can be our bitch.

I was so pissed at monopoly by the way. I bought LaGrange road and noticed each house cost $50K but was making $159K in rent per day!!! So I loaded that fucking street up with $24M worth of rent money daily. So I log on the next day and only got $8M in rent...they figured it out...fuckers!

I am doing the same thing with Westport Road now.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:44 PM

So we got like 6-7 inches or rain in an hour...Atlanta has got 20 inches of rain in the past couple days with more rain on the way. Crazy.

joe on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:48 PM

I'm not in Atlanta so I don't know what god's plan is there.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:55 PM

So far 8 are dead and several more are missing due to the floods.

A two-year old boy was ripped out of his father's arms and drowned after the creek around their mobile home swelled quickly. A teenager bet some friends $5 bucks he could swim in the overflowed ditch....he lost.

joe on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:00 PM

Is he contractually obligated to pay up after dying?

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:01 PM

I don't know, that is a good question. I don't think I'd take an IOU from a dead man.

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:03 PM

"I don't take IOU's from a dead man" would be an awesome line in a western

douglas on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:08 PM

i can't get anything good streets like that now it seems, i looked all over the place this morning but couldn't find any that weren't already bought, i'm gonna look some more tonight

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:09 PM

you try the fort knox area? I'm telling you, that place is a gold mine of big ass streets with cool ass names.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:13 PM

Has Ballardsville Road already been bought (Highway 22)?

douglas on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:19 PM

i believe so yes

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:33 PM

what about 191st Tank Battalion Rd?

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:40 PM

Phil - what kind of rent are you getting in Fort Knox? It is a 1:1 for the greenhouses and the centers?

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:44 PM

got me. i didn't sign back up yet

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 4:49 PM

did we ever get a definitive answer on big jay and ty? what about a van?

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 5:15 PM

I think the answer is that Jay will be going with us if we leave closer to 7. Ty is driving a U-Haul type van down with furniture for Brock and Michelle. No definitive answer about a van. It also sounds like we need to plan some extra time or try to avoid I-65 construction. The last time Joanna and I went that way (July) we got stuck for an hour at the Gene Snyder and through most of Bullit Co. Joanna is saying the construction has moved to Fern Valley and northward.

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 5:20 PM

When is Ty leaving? I'm not gonna lie, Marc, Big Jay, Chris, Joe and I sure as fuck ain't riding ANYWHERE comfortable for 3 or 4 hours depending on traffic. If we could get someone thrown in the van with Ty...

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 5:30 PM

i also have another question. how the fuck is ty getting home?

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 6:18 PM

There are guys coming from Cincy and Chip will be coming from Bowling Green.

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 6:19 PM

I'm going to call Ty and find out when he was planning to leave and maybe one of you all could ride shotgun or something.

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 6:34 PM

I've been checking out prices on renting a passenger van from Nashville to go to Memphis and its like $100 a day. That seems a little unreasonable. I'll keep checking.

Phil on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 6:49 PM

$100 a day isn't too bad. We'd be looking at, what, four cars between here and there? It's about 400 miles round trip so 1200 extra miles driven. Figuring 20mpg at 3.00 per gallon and you are looking at $180 in extra gas money.

Plus the comedy of being in a big ass van would be worth it.

It also have the added benefit of only at least one of us having to function for the three hour drive from Memphis to Nashville come sunday morning.

Brock on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 7:04 PM

I can go ahead and book the 12-passenger van tomorrow if people would be interested. I'm estimating that it would cost between $40-45 a person for the van and gas (counting 10 passengers).

$99.95/day X 3 days X 9.5% tax (damn TN) = ~$330 + $100 gas = $430

Its funny. The van would be almost 3/4 of what we are paying for the hotel.

joe on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 7:39 PM

From a guy I know:

Called DirecTV to complain once again about my broken DVR. Almost cancelled and they totally redeemed themselves with offering no HD/ DVR charges for a year and the NFL package for free.

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 8:14 AM

Any progress on bachelor party transportation?

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 9:12 AM

Dan Patrick is discussing baby names since his intern is having a kid. QB Brad Johnson named his son Maximus. His son is named Maximus Johnson or Max Johnson. Awesome.

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 9:18 AM

Dan Patrick is going to talk about the Max Gilpin/Jason Stinson case with Archie Manning.

douglas on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 9:50 AM

i understand the mom's pain, truly, but she's just coming off as a bitter old woman now in all the interviews she's doing, demanding apologies at every turn. and now she's filed a civil suit against stinson, which is nothing more than an attempt to take his money and ruin his life. she can say all she wants that it's not about money, it's about exposing the issue and getting the word out about heat related illnesses, but the case has already gotten a lot of national attention. no amount of money she gets is gonna bring her son back

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:06 AM

Don't file a lawsuit, start a charity.

Archie basically did one of those back in the day coaches were all hard asses and if you didn't like it get off their field and don't come back.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:06 AM

Plans from Louisville...

We pick Jay up from Bellarmine since we have to go that way anyway. We show up at 6 to help encourage his students to move a little faster. We either take my car or Jay's car since Phil's is a stick and that would make rotating drivers a little difficult.

Nashville to Memphis depends on if we rent a van.

Or I may hitch a ride with Ty (especially if he is leaving early) to keep us from having to drive 5 large grown men in a single car.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:08 AM

The only way that kids name could have been better if it were Max Power.

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:12 AM

So when is Ty leaving? Any one hear from Brody in a while? Is he still in? Is Jay aware that we are harrassing him and leaving from Bellarmine? Phil, this sound good with you?

Brock on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:14 AM

I just called the van place. It'll run $200 for the rental, about $50 extra for mileage, and $100 for gas. I'm estimating ~$38 per person for that.

They've got 1 12-passenger left. Should we do it?

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:17 AM

I say yes depending on how many of us are traveling from Nashville to Memphis.

Brock on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:19 AM

I still have yet to get confirmation from Ty on his departure plan, but my dad says he has to work until 3-4pm. So he should swing by my grandma's house to pick up the furniture after 4 and will hopefully be on the road by 5-6p at the latest.

He might need a hand moving the dresser, so if someone wants to hitch a ride with him, it may be worth meeting him at the house. Of course, I'd give you all a better answer if he would answer his phone.

Brock on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:21 AM

I'm counting 10 passengers from Nashville to Memphis.

Phil on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:21 AM

My other question regarding Ty is how he is getting home. If he is renting the van and driving down there, is he also just gonna leave it there and drive it back two or three days later? Wouldn't that cost him like an extra $150?

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:29 AM

With van I think 10 is great. I think we should leave ty in Memphis.

Brock on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:32 AM

Ty is riding back with the guys from Cincy.

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:39 AM

If someone rides down with Ty we still have 5 on the way back.

Brock on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:58 AM

12-passenger van. BOOKED. ROCK ON.

Just talked to Ty. He'd actually prefer if someone rode down with him tomorrow. Any takers.

Don't worry about his return, that's taken care of.

Jay on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:20 AM

So you all are showing up at Bellarmine tomorrow? That would be awesome. I'm not doing a DHMO lab this time, though

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:26 AM

we still need to figure out who is driving and if nyone is travelling with Ty.

I have a 2 seater and get home from work around 5:15
Chris is on vacation with a car that will seat 5
Jay has a class at 6 and a car that will seat 5
Phil is unknown on time and has a manual
Brody is MIA

Phil on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:28 AM

whatever it takes, i'll make it do what it do.

if we are just driving to nashville, that's a piece of cake. i can drive that no problem without needing a driver change.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:54 AM

I can ride with Ty since I am probably the only one whose schedule will allow it. Catholic Charities is coming to my house at 4pm to pick up a couch, so I need to be here for that. Unless, Brock, you want that purple sectional that was in my basement, and Ty and I can load it up and haul it to Nashville. Or anyone else who wants it can take it.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:55 AM

It does mean 5 back in either Phil or Jays car though. Didn't we do 4 of us in a Jetta to Bowling Green for ribs?

Phil on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 12:19 PM

I did check to see if Hops was gonna be open in Bowling Green. Looks like they closed down

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 12:36 PM

Chris you are with Ty. Phil, you drive. pick me up around 6 on your way to pick up Jay from Bellarmine. Ready. Break. Wasting a timeout because we don't have enough men on the field. Chris you are with Ty. Phil, you drive. pick me up around 6 on your way to pick up Jay from Bellarmine. Brody is making up his own route. If he is open hit him.

I have a car power converter. Wireless internet adapter will be available too. Joe, you want to bring your laptop or should I bring my old piece of shit that at least has a working track pad?

I figure Sunday we can at least follow the fantasy scores on the drive back.

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 1:18 PM

I'll bring mine. Do we have a thing to get the sound through the car speakers so we can watch a movie? I have a decent sized HD screen. You have a wireless internet adapter? That is kind of cool.

Brock on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 1:24 PM

Do we have a good option for music in the van to Memphis? I don't know if the van comes with a CD player or anything, but I certainly want to get everyone psyched with some John Williams. Just kidding, but entertainment with 10 dudes in a van might just come easily. Especially if there are donuts.

Phil on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 1:31 PM

hmmm, we'd need one of those mic out to FM transceivers for that. I do not have one

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 1:39 PM

I may run to Best Buy or something tonight. If we get that a laptop turns into a CD player running through the car speakers. Hmmm. Maybe I will start randomly putting CDs on my laptop tonight as well.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 1:50 PM

Aside from the fact that I'm not going to be in your car on the way down, Joe, I can bring my Ipod and you don't need to worry about downloading CD's.

Places to go on Beale St...I heard stay out of the red areas, unless you want to act out a scene in Animal House. Mind if we dance with yo' dates.

Phil on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 1:53 PM

joe - that should work. $30 ain't cheap, but you could throw it into yours or laura's car and hook up an mp3 player down the road. that's what I did with the ol' accord.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 1:54 PM

Hey, goatfucker, looks liek we may need to stop here for some adult entertainment for you.

I hate to say this, but I'm starting to get psyched. I don't want to put any undue pressure on us, but Coach Genero's last words to me were "Party in Memphis, or I'll die."

joe on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 2:46 PM

Brock on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 4:20 PM

There are Flying Suacer's in both Nashville and Memphis. Nice place! Over 200 beers on tap. I figured we would start the night Thursday at the Flying Saucer in Nashville and then head to Printer's Alley.

http://www.theprintersalley.com/

I'm going prepare some Skyline Dip. Do we want to bring a couple of trays of taco dip and 10 bags of Fritos. That shit is perfect as a late night snack (or at least as good as donuts and cheese).

I think Wes will be the most dis appointed in not meeting by friend Tony from Cincy who I believe is a sniper in the army (2 Iraq tours already).

Chris, do you think you could give Ty a hand moving some of the furniture tomorrow? Payton is planning to help, but they might need some help and you are planning to ride with him anyway.

Chris, that should work. Ty says he probably won't get off work until 4, so he won't be over at my grandmother's house until 4:30 or later. I'll have him call you to let you know.

Ty mentioned that Alfred's on Beale has a deal where you pay $10 or $20 for a wristband and get unlimited drinks at multiple bars for a certain period on Friday night. I've tried to find this info online, but have been unable to find anything.

I'll touch base with the Memphis contacts to confirm this.

A heads up. Nashville is BYOB for adult establishments and apparently they charge you to serve your own drinks.

Not that we would visit any of these filthy places since we are up-standing gentlemen and plan only to sip scotch and play cards.

Brock on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 2:35 PM

Unfortunately, I was unable to find the A-Team van to transport us to Memphis.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 2:37 PM

Douglas - when you build a building you can scroll over and select different buildings. You might have to be a certain level to gain access to it. I think I am level 3 right now. So just keep building houses and stuff till you can access them.

Brock on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 2:37 PM

I'd be willing to pitch in a few dollars for Natty Sci to buy their own A-Team van, deck it out all sweet inside and use it for future excursions.

Since we are all moving the way of "kept men," we'll have to take road trips every once in a while. Who wouldn't want to do that in an A-Team van.

Bigworm on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 2:40 PM

An A-team van will be the first purchase for G&S Pharmaceuticals...well after we start raking in billions so we can squander a few bucks here and there.

Shit, I might be even willing to hire Mr. T to drive that bitch around.

Brock on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 2:47 PM

Hell... we can probably clone Mr. T just to drive us around in the A-Team van.

joe on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 3:10 PM

How much do we owe for the hotel and van and who do we owe the money to?

Brock on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 3:17 PM

I'm estimating the hotel will run $60/head for the weekend and the van + gas $40/head.

I paid for it all, so I will be the one whom you should pay.

I can't give exact cost on the van because there are extra mileage charges, so I over-estimated a little, but since I don't know how good the gas mileage is, I had to estimate gas costs as well.

In any case, I think $100 is a pretty inexpensive weekend trip.

joe on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 3:20 PM

I just hit the ATM in my building and will bring a check for you so I make sure you get your money. I don't want to leave you hanging.

Jay on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 3:41 PM

My future wife is a social worker, so I am about as far from being a kept man as a guy can be.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 4:09 PM

I think he was refering to the fact that pretty much all of us our now gay little bitches in serious relationships (not having a sugar momma, like the term implies). In that respect, you are about as kept as they come.

Phil on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 4:12 PM

I thought he was being sarcastic.

douglas on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 4:52 PM

i hate being a gay bitch now, especially when i'm the only gay bitch left in town while you fuckers are off having fun. but seriously, have fun, wish i could go, don't die, unless there's gonna' be a keg at your funeral, in which case it'll be sad, but at least there's beer.

Brock on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 4:53 PM

Actually, Jay may have moved up a few notches on the "kept/gay" totem pole. At least he's allowed to go to a bachelor party.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 4:59 PM

Brock, where is your brother

Bigworm on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 5:09 PM

I'm in town.

Brent on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 5:26 PM

Have fun, I leave for Peru next week and can't afford a mini excursion before I go...bummer.

mowgli on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 5:41 PM

You guys have fun, wish I could be there. Try not to kill yourselves and don't get arrested...bail money is low right now all extra funds are going towards gettng a house...maybe Wes can help out if you get arrested for killing the hooker/stripper.

Someone throw their drunk ass up against a brick wall for me!

Jay on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 5:51 PM

Are going to play the thunderstruck drinking game? That seems like a good way to get pumped up before we go out.

Phil on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 6:22 PM

joe on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:52 PM

Bigworm on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 11:50 PM

Douglas - did you ever figure out how to get the grid buildings?

Brock on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 4:54 AM

Nashville. Well done.

douglas on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 8:09 AM

wes - not yet, i am a level 3 also, so i don't have a clue how to get 'em.

Bigworm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 9:48 AM

Whenver you build a house what buildings do you see?

douglas on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 10:26 AM

green house up thru nova tower block

Bigworm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 10:47 AM

Do you see the arrows that you can click on? Looks like a triangular wedge?

douglas on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 10:52 AM

nope, my home computer sucks though, and i can't check it at work so maybe it's something there

Brock on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11:16 AM

Ha ha. 75% have hangovers.

douglas on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11:17 AM

well done gentlemen. where did you all party in nashville?

Bigworm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11:25 AM

Awesome work fellas.

That is your problem Douglas - there is an arrow that allows you to scroll to different buildings.

mowgli on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 1:05 PM

I expect a higher percentage tomorrow!

douglas on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 4:31 PM

wes, daemonsan and ylozitskiy must die

joe on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 7:49 PM

Preparing for death.

Bigworm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 7:54 PM

I agree. Daemonsan is on my shit list.

He hitme with a hazard but I should get $30M+ from rent and my goal is to just fuck him up.

Bigworm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 8:00 PM

Douglas I just got $41M in rent money. Let me know how you want to hit that bitch?

Bigworm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 8:01 PM

I figure I am going to start destroying his bonus buildings and then his biggest money makers and build shitty buildings on his shit.

Bigworm on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 9:59 PM

Douglas - I am taking out Daemonsan's bonus buildings. I killed three on one road and hit his biggest income producer with a hazard and am working on the other road as well. You should do the same.

douglas on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 10:54 PM

i need to get rid of the hazards that bastard put on me, he fucked with beulah church road, which was one of my good money makers, once i get my shit back up and running i'm gunning for him

Brock on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:10 PM

Bigworm on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:14 PM

Douglas - It won't let me demolish your hazards.

Bigworm on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:16 PM

Brock - shouldn't you be drunk?

joe on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:17 PM

Shouldn't you be in Memphis?

Bigworm on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:28 PM

joe on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 8:21 AM

We played putt putt and went go karting

Brock on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 9:30 AM

GO BENGALS!

joe on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 10:47 AM

This place is dead and we are not at liberty to discuss details of putt putt and go karting.

joe on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11:01 AM

We did do a good job at the Rendevous. Could sound like a shady club or bar but it is actually a decent BBQ and rib joint. We had a party of 10 and the guy walks up and says do you have anybody that can't eat meat due to health or religious reasons, we said no and he said "all right I am ordering you all an order of ribs, 2 pitchers of beer, and the 3rd is on me." He made us make his job extremely easy.

douglas on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11:08 AM

can you disclose the amount of pukers?

joe on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11:12 AM

One that i know of.

Sorry Jerome, my WRs decided to play this week.

Brent on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 1:36 PM

I'll post when the attack is eminent, code word for the attack, "Walnuts."

Bigworm on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:04 PM

Brent - I'll be in too!!

Give me a streetname you own so I can add you to my friends list.

I got $70M in rent money today....so I plan on getting $100M tonight and wednesday....we can have a lot of fun with that when wanting to fuck with somebody.

Bigworm on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:12 PM

Douglas did you ever figure out how to get more buildings?

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:18 PM

There was some karaoke involved too, and we watched a little football. Nothing terribly exciting. My liver is still be recovering though and I think I'm suffering from a touch of DT's today.

douglas on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:25 PM

Nice. yeah wes, I did, the arrows don't show up on my shitty computer, nor do the pictures of the buildings, just the names, so i just have to click where the arrows would be

douglas on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:35 PM

don't know if you've noticed by the way that we're in the top ten for the louisville area, you're like 3rd, i think i'm 6th or something

Jay on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:35 PM

All in all, I'd give the go-karts and putt-putt a BIG thumbs up.

Bigworm on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:38 PM

Fucking A, we own this shit.

joe on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:42 PM

Don't forget the duck marches. Those were spectacular

Phil on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:46 PM

Man, Chris and I were so out of control that they thought we were gonna make the ducks fly away. But we just were there to enjoy the majesty of it all.

Phil on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:47 PM

it's a shame not everyone took the tour of suburban Memphis either. Got the real local feel of the place.

joe on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:59 PM

Phil and I upscaled it one night. The club had a velvet rope.

Brock on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:59 PM

I'm still thoroughly impressed that you still got to go on the tour despite Chris' attempts to foil it.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:16 PM

Thank you, Brock, the Walter comments make a lot more sense now.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:18 PM

I think I may have found a great hangover cure...drink about a gallon of water before you go to bed. Of course, you have to be able to hold that much water down too.

douglas on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:22 PM

I coulda told you that, drink as much water as you possibly can, at least 3 glasses, and pop a tylenol PM so you sleep in later. i forgot to do that a couple weeks ago after i went out drinking for joe's bday and literally went to bed the next night still very hungover.

joe on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:25 PM

Phil and I met a very nice person who wanted to discuss biochemical engineering, discrete mathematics and cross country and we had a long intellectual conversation.

Brent on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:33 PM

I own E. Burnett and Pindell

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:37 PM

It's a bad idea to mix alcohol and tylenol. The liver can't keep up with detoxing that combo. Ibuprofen is a lot less toxic to your liver especially if your using it with alcohol.

douglas on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:42 PM

no shit. it usually is ibuprofen, i just use tylenol pm when i get to actually sleep in. i guess i won't anymore.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:48 PM

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11:27 AM

Pretty freakin' soon.

I am #3 but that is probably because I lost $26M in taxes last turn. If I ever find my accountant I am going to bring a world of pain to them.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11:50 AM

joe on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 12:45 PM

How about USC RB's hand slipping dropping a 275 lb bench press on his throat?

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1:07 PM

Yeah I saw he was in surgery yesterday, do you have an update?

joe on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1:29 PM

I think they said he was stable now. It was like a 7 hour surgery or something crazy like that.

Brock on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1:43 PM

That makes me want to stick with Smith machines for benching.

Brock on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1:44 PM

As far as monopoly obsession: I've been into it since it started. Hell, I still play online RISK as often as normal life allows. Michelle is still marrying me despite these obvious nerdy flaws.

Brock on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1:46 PM

The only reason I am doing so well in fantasy football this year is because of how awesome my team name is.

douglas on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1:47 PM

monopoly is addicting, sarah is annoyed whenever she walks in the office and sees me on it now. it's worse for me b/c i can't check it at work, and now that i'm making like 80 million a day it's tough to spend all that quickly, especially when your computer sucks ass

douglas on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2:44 PM

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2:54 PM

Douglas I know what you mean. Conversation between Abby and I last night.

A "Hey can I use the computer when you are finished playing your game?"
W "Sure, not a problem" as I chuckle.
A "Why are you laughing?"
W "Well dear it's going to be a while. See that building I just bought? That cost me $500K, and if you look into my bank account I have $94M so I am going to be a while."
A - rolls her eyes

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 3:13 PM

Do you think that USC running back ended up with a tracheostomy?

douglas on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 3:15 PM

I'm to the point now where i just buy 2 mil. dollar buildings b/c it takes too long if i don't

douglas on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 3:15 PM

is that where they put a hole in your throat?

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 3:23 PM

Yes

joe on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 3:30 PM

I could see a USC football player liking the Cincinnati Bowtie (not brock's definition).

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 3:42 PM

Yeah that is what I am doing now as well. You don't get the 1:1 return for your investment, however, you make a lot more rental income over a shorter distance.

douglas on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 4:03 PM

By the way, tomorrow night at Tony BoomBozz's Highlands Taphouse location (Bardstown and Eastern Pkwy), between 5:30 and 7:30, it's all you can eat/drink beer/wine/pizza for $15. Sarah's sponsoring a team for the light the night walk this weekend and she set up this fundraiser there tomorrow night.

Cash, I dont want cash, I want fucking prisons, damn it!

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 9:31 PM

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 9:31 PM

Wes, you still in the game, he's protected Clermont already, come on man

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 9:35 PM

Brent I have spent $50M dollars building shit and still haven't got a chance card.

It's karma man.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:16 PM

$70M and no chance cards.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:20 PM

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:23 PM

I've been lighting Sir Coy up...fucker.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:23 PM

I hit him with another factory on Clermont

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:24 PM

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:24 PM

I think Clermont has like 5 hazard buildings

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:26 PM

I just took down his school on Bernheim entrance road so he has zero bonus buildings now.

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:28 PM

Nice one, I just saw that, we need to hit is other one pitts point rd

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:29 PM

I just took down his $6M dollar building that gives him $1.4M in rent each day. He's gonna be pissed on over that one.

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:31 PM

Brent where do you want a prison at?

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:32 PM

I just created more jobs on Battle Creek Road, economy is booming. I hear there are a lot of vandals on Fire town Road.

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:33 PM

That'll give'em 2 on 3 of his biggest streets

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:33 PM

I hit Clermont again with a prison because it was his biggest income generator...now he has 3 hazards to deal with on that road.

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:34 PM

Next demolition you get hit pitt road, its protected and a big money earner

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:37 PM

yes sir will do.

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:38 PM

Pitt Road is ready for prisons, sewage plants, and factories

Bigworm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:39 PM

Dude I am almost out of cash.

you going to be on tomorrow night?

Brent on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 10:39 PM

Mmm, I dont know...ive been selling streets and buying them again to generate cash and building houses for chance cards

Brock on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11:56 PM

I've got $75M to spend.

Brent on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 12:09 AM

He's back to full strength, fucking bastard.

Brock on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 12:11 AM

Because he's probably cheating with multiple accounts.

Brent on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 8:42 AM

For some reason it doesn't matter if you have hazards on your street, all you have to do is build a park and you can get your rent again...weak.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 9:21 AM

Hmmmmm, that is weird. I thought you'd have to bulldoze that shit first.

Does it reduce the amount of his income at all?

douglas on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 10:08 AM

didn't know that, i'll have to try that

douglas on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 10:08 AM

i tried to get that dude last night but i never got a chance card to demolish anyone's shit

douglas on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 10:09 AM

although some chriswporter guy tried to fuck with me by hitting one of my streets that doesn't get me hardly anything, just annoying as hell, so now i gotta go back and fuck him up, especially b/c he's in the top 10 too and gunning for me i guess

Foxsports gives the best front courts in college basketball for 2009-10.

http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/...718/The-country

UNC #1
UK #2
ND #18

First of all, UNC is going to be good but they lose TH so there goes a lot of production to replace.

UK is ranked high because of freshman help....no way I'd rank them #2 to start the season.

ND should be #1, because you can put Frankenstein's Monster out there with any two other people and he is going to eat you up. He is the most amazing non-athletic freak I have ever seen play basketball. He scores, he rebounds, he blocks shots, and he shoots the hook shot.

douglas on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 11:37 AM

wes, what kind of UK fan are you? you know UK is supposed to be ranked #1 in everything preseason by default. where's your sense of entitlement damn it? we shouldn't be ranked as high as #2 b/c we should be ranked even higher

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 11:50 AM

Douglas - trust me it is there damnit.....but I want to take it back from the basketball world and not just let them hand it back to us. I want these young guys to be hungry and not complacent. I want to seek and destroy and have them kneel before ZOD!!!

Anyone have a recommendation for the cheapest place to buy a good lawnmower?

Jerome on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 12:23 PM

Joe - check out the little lawn mower place over in that shopping plaza by Bellarmine for a good mower at a decent price. Cheap lawnmowers that can kind of do the job, go to Sears.

Phil on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 12:25 PM

so i signed up for monopoly again. Slowly taking over the Adirondacks. I'm already in 4th place (out of 4) for the region.

I noticed the dude you guys where going after had $80,000,000 in the bank. You gotta wait until he has no cash on hand to launch the assault. Otherwise it's too easy for him to build back up. With 80,000,000 he could build, what, 1500 little houses? That's enough chance cards to last a lifetime. Just gotta put in the time and dedication.

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 3:24 PM

Phil, I know what yoiu mean, LT2 is pretty much on the bench for 6 weeks and Thomas Jones isnt producing right now, which leaves me with Fred Jackson and Donald Brown, wtf? I asked him if I could put LT on the IR the other day, he said he didn't really know what the IR was for, so I told him it was for keeper leagues but I thought it was worth a try.

joe on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 3:41 PM

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 4:21 PM

Is it worth reading?

Phil on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 4:28 PM

The should write an article on the knee of the Florida player that actually knocked Tebow out.

Btw, our team name for trivia last night was:
"Tebow has been concussed
Tebow has risen
Tebow will jump pass again"

Phil on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 4:30 PM

this cracked me up:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pic...turns-sour.html

Bigworm on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 4:38 PM

Phil I actually don't know if the knee knocked him out or if it was Wyndham's helmet under the chin. What I do know it was a damn good hit and then Tebow got lucky he didn't break his damn neck when his head snapped forward. It was kind of erie to watch Tebow lay on the ground after that hit, only because he has taken hit after hit after big hit and still gets up.

I love the trivia name though.

joe on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 6:18 PM

Tebow outwieghed the guy that hit him. It was obviously the knee that knocked him senseless. It was a nice clean hit though.

Brent on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 7:36 PM

Joe, so I threatened to cancel my DirectTV and they laughed, "You're under contract buddy, go ahead...(background in muffled voice) hey guys, check it out, another chump that wants to cancel while he's under contract (room full of laughter)...so you were saying, sir....that's what I thought, is there any thing else I can help you with today"

"How about taking this giant satellite out of my ass you sodomizing son of a bitch!"

"Not a chance, have a great day, thanks for calling DirectTV"

Yeah, so much for getting a discount, but I did cut my bill by $50 by canceling all the premium channels, with the exception of HBO, gotta have entourage, good news is my contract expires 8/10/10 which means I will only endure a $20 charge if they don't get Versus up and running by July so I can enjoy Phil Ligget and the Tour de France. I posted this to ITV. It was a big hit, besides the one fucker who gave me 1 star:

Just downloaded the new patch and just wanted to give everyone a heads up on some stuff that they fixed for Louisville:

* New barefoot kicker models added. Really they've been there all along, they were just taken out in NCAA 1987 when people realized kicking barefoot was stupid.
* New shoulder to the face tackle animation. Chris Campa only tackles this way
* When playing against Louisville, play calling tweaks have been adjusted to be more true to life. Louisville will now only run between the tackles with speed backs, run tosses with power backs, run the option to the short side of the field, and run play action passes on obvious passing downs with the QB throwing across his body.
* Cory Goettsche is now Louisville's only "impact player"
* Removed the option of going for 2 from the playbook for Louisville

Brock, what do you need, 42 points between Crosby, Grant and Rodgers? Go Vikings!

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 9:02 AM

Douglas is down by 3 points. Tonight he has Adrian Peterson going, and I have Percy Harvin and the Vikes defense.

Basically, I need Favre to be greedy and hit Harvin with 2 or 3 TD passes or the Vikes defense to get a couple INTs and TDs.

Brock on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 10:01 AM

Joe, since you scored 61.5 points with Tynes, Walker, and Rivers, I like my odds of 70% of that with more talented players. Granted, they are all on one team, but the fervor of destroying Favre may be on my side.

joe on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 10:28 AM

I'll let them play it out on the field. go Vikings.

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 10:38 AM

That's why we play the game.

douglas on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 10:38 AM

i'm just looking for adrian peterson to display his spurtability and unleash some more of his upside potential tonight as they play it out on the field

joe on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 10:48 AM

He is long and athletic

Jerome on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 12:56 PM

joe on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 1:19 PM

I can't think of his name right now and can't log in so I'll post his name later.

Phil on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 2:55 PM

Joe, I'm gonna sign up for the Run like Hell 5k. You down?
http://www.fleetfeetlouisville.com/...-your-normal-5k

joe on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:14 PM

Why?

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:14 PM

The same reason why guys do anything, for the bitches!

Phil on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:20 PM

because i'm fat, and it sounds like fun

joe on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:33 PM

Is Jay having his bachelor party that day? I could be convinced to do that 5k.

mowgli on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:34 PM

Phil, I will run it with you if you are interested.

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:44 PM

Lynnie when do you two close on the house?

joe on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:58 PM

Kragthorpe is opening up a QB controversy. Way to coach.

mowgli on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:59 PM

Right now it is set for Oct 23rd...we plan to move in as soon as possible, we will be recruiting volunteers at Brock and Michelle's wedding. Free beer and food!

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 3:59 PM

Don't worry Joe, John Gruden is on his way.

mowgli on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 4:00 PM

For the move that is.

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 4:01 PM

So are you going to start moving stuff in on the 23rd (Fri) or are you going to clean on the 23rd and move stuff on the 24th?

douglas on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 4:09 PM

gruden's gonna have to fight phil fulmer and tuberville for the job

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 4:09 PM

I heard Bobby Petrino wanted to come back after Saban gave him a beatdown.

mowgli on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 4:37 PM

either the weekend of the 24th or the next...not sure

Brock on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 6:10 PM

The Cincinnati alumni association is hosting a dinner for Michelle and I tomorrow and they gave us 2 tickets to the UofL-UC game.

The Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Association took us down to Hilton Head a few weeks ago.

A Bellarmine student called and asked for $50.

Which of these schools did I pay the most to attend? There is a problem here.

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 8:52 PM

On monopoly if anybody wants to attack some bastards I have a hit list:

MattGolsen (you will die)
Turwaith
Chriswporter

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 10:14 PM

Turwaith owns the gene snyder expressway with 4 bonuses. I am gonna teach this bitch a lesson.

Bigworm on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 11:27 PM

Safety!!! Suck on that Green Bay.

Brock on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 11:37 PM

If Green Bay would have converted that 2-pt conversion, I would have beat Joe then and there.

Brock on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 11:40 PM

Punt. Game over Joe. 1.5 points.

Brock on Monday, October 05, 2009 at 11:58 PM

Wes, I'll be taking 1st place back. Thanks for keeping it warm for me.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 12:13 AM

The best thing that happened to you was that Green Bay had to start slinging the ball to get back in the game. If Minnesota keeps throwing with Favre you never get those 33 gimme points.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 12:15 AM

of course next week 1/2 your team has a fucking bye....so unless Philco steps up (and Drew Brees is sitting due to a bye) then I will claim it right back.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 12:16 AM

I am just surprised I keep winning with my awesome WR corps of Devin Hester, Percy Harvin, and Santana Moss.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 12:18 AM

Of course what is awesome is that I am #1 and only #4 in points.

joe on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 7:43 AM

I am in 7th but am #1 in points. This is bull shit

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:15 AM

Sorry Joe. Lots of excitement with zero results.

douglas on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:27 AM

fuck adrian peterson and his shitty 55 yards, i didn't draft him for that type of production, fuck him

douglas on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:28 AM

and wes, chriswporter has fucked me with me too, we've traded a few hazards and shit, but he hasn't completely pissed me off yet, monkeytees is getting on my fucking nerves though

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:29 AM

I haven't hit chriswporter yet. The other two I am focussing on.

Turwaith owns Gene Snyder Freeway and I plan on ruining his bonuses and hitting that shit hard.

joe on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:35 AM

Any one interested in a trivia question:

7 MLB baseball teams have not won a playoff game this decade, the 00's. Name them.

douglas on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:46 AM

royals

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:47 AM

I haven't got a clue, mainly because I don't watch baseball religiously like you guys. But if I had to comprise a list, it would look something like this:

Royals
Mariners
Rangers
Oakland
Mets
Cubs
Blue Jays

douglas on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:47 AM

yeah, pretty much scrap most of your list

douglas on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:49 AM

royals, orioles, nationals, reds, brewers, pirates, and let's go padres

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 8:49 AM

Looks like my list is like Joe's fantasy football team. They both get out of the gate well and then it lacks luster.

Off to work.

joe on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:05 AM

Douglas, you got 6 of 7.

joe on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:15 AM

Dan Patrick show had a brilliant idea for the Twins - tigers playoff game today in Minnesota. Have Favre throw out the first pitch to get the crowd into it and the Tigers have no shot.

joe on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:24 AM

Which player do you least see play for a new team: Tom Brady, Kobe, Jeter, Peyton Manning

douglas on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:29 AM

tigers, that's the 7th

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:46 AM

Jeter

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:46 AM

Just for spite, I'd like to see Boston buy him.

joe on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:56 AM

Padres and tigers have. The 7th is the rangers.

douglas on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 10:27 AM

i was thinking them, but figured they'd had won one

joe on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 10:30 AM

Brooklyn Decker is on Dan Patrick show. She said worst pick up lines are the ones that play on her name being Brooklyn. Dan immediately said, “no sleep till Brooklyn?” Touché Dan, touché.

Douglas - not going to be a good night against USC for UK. Both our starting corners are out.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 2:49 PM

How many games does it take for Tubberville to beat Kragthorpe's total wins while at UofL?

12

When is the last time UK beat the ole ball coach? 1985?

douglas on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 3:29 PM

Spurrier owns UK.

He'll go to Lowe's to buy a mop, a bucket and some duct tape to build a QB that can beat us.

Phil on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 5:20 PM

I'm starting the Gruden / plane rumors on the internet. Let's see what kind of traction I can get...

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:00 PM

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at 9:01 PM

Surely Gruden would rather coach than be a pretend coach/analyst.

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 at 9:16 AM

Philco - how is operation plane tracking coming along?

joe on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 at 9:50 AM

Fantasy Football news - Michael Crabtree signed with the 49ers and Braylon Edwards was traded to the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets.

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 at 10:39 AM

Thanks for the heads up Joe. I picked my draft pick back up.

joe on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 at 10:45 AM

I don't see Crabtree doing much, Braylon Edwards could be an interesting one.

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 at 10:55 AM

I agree with you Joe. I just picked up Crabtree because I drafted his bitch ass. I figure if there is any chance he plays he is going to be on my bench.

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 at 10:56 AM

Oh and besides, considering Devin Hester scored me 0.5 points this past week....am I really losing production if I play him?

joe on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 at 11:00 AM

Hester did leave the game with an injury.

2) Family

http://deadspin.com/5376552/alabama...football-season

Bigworm on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 8:11 AM

Has Tubberville signed the contract yet?

If so, be prepared for field position football.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 8:16 AM

If I were Jurich I think I'd go after Mike Leach of Texas Tech. He has a dynamic offense and the Big East isn't built on defense.....so why not make it fun.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 8:16 AM

I love Joker but I kind of wish UK would make a run at him.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 8:17 AM

Of course, being the OC under Hal Mumme isn't going to get you back to Lexington, even if you did blow the whistle on the operation.

joe on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 8:31 AM

Douglas, is this right, your birthday is today and B-mac was the 6th or do I have it completely wrong?

Bigworm on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 8:36 AM

Philco - Is there one coach you like more than the rest being rumored to UofL?

I think it is pretty obvious that Krags is or should be gone. With that horrible 3rd QTR UK had he still didn't win the game....and then the losses to Utah and Pitt.

If I were a UofL fan I think my list would look like this:
Gruden - Young and dynamic coach, would be an all-world hire but does he want to coach college and would he stick around long-term?

Mike Leach - Of course TT recruits itself being in Texas, can he pull the Texas recruits North?

Jag - Ex BC Coach

Fulmer & Tubberville - Big name coaches that are very good coaches, but older and maybe not so exciting to watch. They build their teams around solid defense, a strong running game, and owning field position. Running off guard or tackle isn't pretty, but if you have the line and a power back it is methodical and effective. These guys will get W's in the win column and probably "The Ville" off the front of the jersey.

joe on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 8:42 AM

Bobby Bowden

douglas on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 8:56 AM

not sure if it's the bunny ranch where they'll all line up in front of me and I get to choose, but that would be nice

Phil on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 11:47 AM

I believe the list right now is Gruden, TT, and Charlie Strong.

Phil on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 11:54 AM

Phil on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 12:40 PM

if you all didn't see the article on Gillispie in the Herald Leader today, it's a good read
http://www.kentucky.com/826/story/968001.html

Harrellson verified to our own Jerry Tipton the rumor that during halftime of last year's game at Vanderbilt, the sophomore forward was banished to a bathroom stall, apart from the team, apparently as punishment for poor play.

Then after the Cats' 77-64 loss to the Commodores, Gillispie ordered Harrellson off the team bus and into the team equipment truck for the long ride back to Lexington.

Phil on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 1:45 PM

this was on jay bilas' blog today about some new rules for the season:
The Food Police: An NCAA memo went out to member institutions awhile back about bagel and bread spreads. In locker rooms all over the country, programs have fruit, energy bars and bagels, which is legal. However, according to the memo, providing cream cheese and butter is illegal. I'm not sure what this rule is all about, but I would love to have been in the meeting room to hear the discussion when it was decided.

douglas on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 1:46 PM

UK basketball held a Women's clinic last night where they had women come and meet the players and staff and all that good stuff. Anyway, Calipari apparently extended a special invitation to Jeannine Edwards (she of "that's really a stupid question" fame), and she showed up. I found it funny Cal's throwing not so subtle digs at the ex coach

Phil on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 1:59 PM

hey joe, you see one of the headlines on deadspin today?
"George Lopez Is This Year's Frank Caliendo"

Didn't you send that exact text to me yesterday? I chuckled.

joe on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 2:05 PM

I texted that to you and Cuban. Cuban was trying to make an over/under bet on the number of references to George Lopwez.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 2:42 PM

Bobby Bowden is a great coach. I just figured nobody would give him another chance after his stint at Auburn.

joe on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at 3:05 PM

Bobby is FSU. Are you talking about Tommy or Terry? Which one is Clemson?

I just had lunch with a guy who's barber's son drives a truck from Rumpke. According to him, Kraggy's house will be taken off of their route at the end of December. Since Rumpke bills quarterly, this has to be true.

I don't know how I drank that half a fifth of bourbon last night

douglas on Friday, October 09, 2009 at 8:17 AM

what the fuck did you do?

Wrecking Crew on Friday, October 09, 2009 at 8:47 AM

Why a half a fifth on a Thursday night? Once upon a time, I remember doing that. Calling in today?

joe on Friday, October 09, 2009 at 8:56 AM

I was at home and bourbon sounded good. I made it in to work. Caught the late bus in with Cuban. Basically I took an hour of leave this morning.

douglas on Friday, October 09, 2009 at 9:00 AM

was laura at least home with you or were you that guy drinking by yourself? If you're going to celebrate my birthday, at least invite me to the celebration...

joe on Friday, October 09, 2009 at 9:03 AM

Laura was drinking wine. Don't have a glass of wine before or after bourbon. The 2 don't taste good together.

Bigworm on Friday, October 09, 2009 at 9:24 AM

Top 10 Most Annoying Sports Fans.

#8 Duke Basketeball Fans

"Every Friday night, just before Dick Vitale pleasures Mike Krzyzewski under the scorers table, a collection of nerdy Duke students pitch tents outside Cameron Indoor Stadium and stay up all night playing board games while waiting in line to watch their team make yet another glorious run to the second round of the NCAA tournament. They put on full blue body paint, jump around like a bunch of meth addicts for three hours, and then wonder why the school’s virginity rate is right on par with their field goal percentage. The average Duke fan is like that kid in elementary school with a collared shirt and pleated slacks who asks the teacher if she forgot to assign homework, while his Mommy tells him that “people are just jealous of how unique and talented you are” when nobody comes to his birthday party at the Planetarium."

Also, Louisville needs an urban free ride park. It is basically like the skate park but for mountain bikes. They looked awesome in th emagazine.

Chris - this is the word on Mike Hartline's knee injury from the UK game this past weekend.

"NO torn ACL. MCL tear, PCL tear and cartilage"

Is that good or bad? And how long would recovery take?

joe on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 4:06 PM

Jerome Bettis missed only 1 game with a tour MCL.

joe on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 4:06 PM

torn

joe on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 4:11 PM

Hartline being hurt might be the best thing for UK

douglas on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 4:28 PM

no it's not at all, for this year anyway. for next year, only if they bring in newton and he gets reps under his belt for next year, but for this year, not at all. he's the best QB they've got this year, hands down. people were just getting on him b/c he had two bad games in a row, against the #1 and #2 teams in the country mind you. he was playing his ass off against s. carolina in the first half, even the guy that replaced him said that was the best game he'd ever seen hartline play

Bigworm on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 4:31 PM

Hartline did play a great game against USC before he got injured. What really pisses me off about the injury is it came on a play that SHOULD have been blown dead (delay of game penalty).

joe on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 12:50 PM

I need to do something today to loosen up after playing 3 outfielders in a softball game last night. I'm a little sore from all that sprinting and throwing. Nothing like beating a softball team of white trash rednecks by a 10 run mercy rule in the 5th inning in the playoffs with 1 less player in the field and taking an automatic out every time through the lineup. We pulled a walk off scoring from 2nd on a tagup with the last batter of the lineup before the automatic out to get the 10 run mercy rule. We celebrated and they argued with the ump then a wife yelled from the stands lets take this to the parking lot. It was beautiful.

The funny thing is about the Big Tuna, is he really was very close to coming to Kentucky. I joking say he justed needed to let the ink dry, and yes it was that close.

Personally, I hope Gruden stays in the NFL. And if Gruden avoids UofL like the swine flu then I hope Mike Leach stays away as well.

After those two, I really don't care who they land.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 12:19 PM

Joe, what do you mean "if Jurich pulls this off?" Firing Kragthorpe and hiring Gruden? Jurich is about the best thing that has happend to UL athletics ever. His Kragthorpe hire was a little weak, but he made hires that brought recognition to the football team. He got the basketball team turned around. (Of course Denny Crum's situation could have been handled better.) The baseball team has made its way out of obscurity and to a World Series. Women's basketball final 4 (not that anyone cares). Kraggy was a little blip on the otherwise fine resume of Jurich.

joe on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 12:23 PM

The respect I have lost for him over the handling of the football situation I would gain back if and when he dumps Kragthorpe and hires a respectable replacement and quits with the i am standing behind my man.

Phil on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 12:39 PM

Word on the street is that "I am standing behind my man" is simply to show potential hires the loyalty they will receive from the athletic department should they take the job...

joe on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 12:41 PM

With the excess of NFL coaches available, now is the time to go for the glory.

Phil on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 1:06 PM

One thing to keep in mind with gruden is that as long as he doesn't coach in the NFL, Tampa Bay will pay him $5 million a season for the next three years. He could coach at Louisville, ND or wherever and be basically paid $8 million a year. He goes to the Skins, he won't get that kind of money.

douglas on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 1:08 PM

no shit, hadn't heard that

Bigworm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 1:49 PM

Fuck, I'd sit on my ass and collect 5 million per year. When that runs out I am sure there will be a lot of coaching opportunities in college or NFL.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 1:50 PM

Jurich has helped out UofL athletics tremendously.

Kragthorpe knows the game of football and is a decent coach. He has won some pretty decent coaching awards at these clinics and shit. To be honest, he was a guy I was hoping MB had on his shortlist if Brooks left before naming Joker HC in waiting.

joe on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 2:04 PM

I'm calling bullshit.

Phil on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 2:42 PM

joe on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:27 PM

we arent talking ex-tulsa basketball coaches here.

joe on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:30 PM

if i am not mistaken, the OC at Tulsa was the genius, not Kraggy.

Anyone else following the news about the 6-year-old in a balloon?

Louisville did get a commitment from 3-star #126 ranked WR Stephan Robinson. He is a 5'9" waterbug type WR that is dangerous in the open field. I wanted UK to offer him, but we were recruiting him at DB.

It will be interesting to see if Patterson follows him to UofL. I know Tim Patterson has grade issues and more than likely will need to be placed, however, if he ever gets to campus you have a fantastic football player.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:42 PM

I think an NFL coach is a bad idea, unless it is a situation like Saban, Petrino, or Pitino. They are good college coaches who failed in their respective professional sports and probably have no interest in going back to the professional ranks. Gruden was a successful NFL caoch whao may drop a college team in a heartbeat to get back to the pros. A good college coach who has made a name for himself may still defect, but isn't necessarily as likely.

joe on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:44 PM

Gruden can build the program for 3 years and bail so we can hire a new Kragthorpe to fall back to where we started.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:45 PM

I am serious. Kragthorpe was suppose to be a real up and comer, just like Gillispie. Atleast your coach wasn't coaching drunk.

From the wiki so you know this true about his early career.

Kragthorpe earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1988 from West Texas State and received his MBA in 1989 from Oregon State University. He then spent more than a decade as an assistant coach at several colleges. At age 26, he became offensive coordinator under Steve Axman at Northern Arizona University. He left in 1994 to join Matt Simon's coaching staff at the University of North Texas. After leaving the state of Texas for one year, serving as quarterbacks coach under Dan Henning at Boston College in 1996, Kragthorpe came back to join R. C. Slocum's staff at Texas A&M. He served as quarterbacks coach in 1997 before replacing Steve Marshall as offensive coordinator in 1998. Texas A&M won a Big 12 championship in 1998.

In 2001, Kragthorpe left the collegiate ranks to become quarterback coach under head coach Gregg Williams for the Buffalo Bills. He trained quarterback Drew Bledsoe. who had arguably the best season of his career in 2002. In 2003, Kragthorpe took over his first head coaching position, succeeding Keith Burns at the University of Tulsa.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:47 PM

Depending on your point of view, you also have to give Jurich and Kragthorpe a little respect for cleaning up the program. If we're not winning, we better at least not have stupid ass headlines in the sports page for inexcusible behavior. And we don't have a complete douchebag for a coach like the last two. Of course, I'd trade a few shenanigans for a goddamn winning season at this point.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:48 PM

UofL can go get a guy like Tommy Tuberville or Phil Fulmer and they will win in the big east. They will bring with them a power running game and a very good defense which may not all that sexy to watch but it wins games.

Actually maybe they can't get those guys. UofL fans are as bad as UK fans in football. The only problem is we fit more into our stadium so our boos grow louder.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:49 PM

I think Kragthorpe has done a pretty decent job considering he had to clean house when he got there.

And don't put that on Jurich, he did let Willie Williams in the door.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:50 PM

That's the risk you take hiring an up and comer. Hire someone who has already made a name for themself. That's the mistake UK made with Billy G and UL mad with Kraggy. UL had a chance to entice a better coach when they were on top of the Big East, and build a strong program beating up on not so good teams. Now that's not going ot be so easy.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:54 PM

I agree Chris. If Jurich wasn't so hell bent on hiring Kraggy maybe things would have been different.

joe on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 4:02 PM

I'm sure Kragthorpe would have already kicked Jennings and Smith off the basketball team.

joe on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 4:06 PM

There are multiple people on here that have "accidentally" tried to fight a cop.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 4:09 PM

I wouldn't kick those guys off the team. They got arrested for resisting arrest. I am sure most of us would get arrested for resisting arrest if we were ever to the point of getting arrested.

Just sounds like a bad situation to me and I bet the undercover cop was being a dick....because that's what most cops are that are at social gathering at 1 am.
