Apparently on Celebrity Jeopardy, Kareem Abdul Jabar answered a question incorrectly where the answer was Bill Walton. Kareem Abdul Jabar answered Kareem Abdul Jabar when the question was actually a quote from Kareem Abdul Jabar about Bill Walton.

Football tomorrow:

noon - UL-UConn
3:30 - ND - USC

Not sure when the red river shoot out is or the UK game. Any one know? Good be a good lazy day.

joe on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11:04 AM

Riddle me this:

Bathroom at work has 2 stalls, 1 handicapped one regular. The sports page starts every morning in the handicapped stall. By lunch the paper has moved to the regular stall. Why would the paper ever move out of the handicapped stall? Does someone walk into the handicapped stall and not use that stall and moves to the regular stall? why not just stay in that stall?

Bigworm on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11:45 AM

UK and Auburn is a night game, 7:30 I believe.

Bigworm on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11:46 AM

does the team debut before midnight?

douglas on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11:47 AM

it's big blue madness now actually, it hasn't actually been midnight madness for several years now, the ncaa figured it was stupid to make people wait 'til midnight, so they changed the ruling, TV starts at 7, i think the actual madness is 7:30-9 or 9:30

douglas on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11:48 AM

and i'm not sure if that includes the gay women's bball team first or not. i would love to know why they insist on including women's bball when no one gives a flying fuck about them

CHANGES TO BACHELOR PARTY

Jay's wedding is coming up pretty damn soon and so is the supposed bachelor party originally planned for the 30th of October. The idea was another long-awaited return of the Dragon Stagger. Jay's Frankfort crew did this once on Halloween weekend and seemed to have a lot of fun on the pub crawl while dressed up. Jay told me about this as what he wanted to do for a while and so my planning for his bachelor party was way too simple, I had practically nothing to do. A stagger's success relies on the number of people who go and all people drinking a good amount, and the atmosphere of the Frankfort crowd out that night.

Upon further consideration, we will no longer be having a Dragon Stagger, because it is not in the groom's best interest. It is very late in the game but I suggest a chance of idea and venue for the event. The only real reason for Frankfort is a Stagger, is that is out Frankfort is too really. Also, if we are not attempting a Halloween Stagger, then perhaps we have an additional weekend, the following weekend. Nov 6-8. I know that Jay's Michelle might be having her Bachelorette party that weekend also. I don't think Jay is opposed to changing ideas as I hinted at it with him yesterday, and Michelle says we have permission to kidnap him and drag him off somewhere.

With little time to give it proper planning, due to just receiving the recent news of not being able to drink, I have just a few suggestions thus far. It's late to expect people to be able to put up too much cash or days off to accommodate going very far out of town, and we did just have a nice long and expensive trip to Memphis (expensive for some more than others.) For an out of town idea I have Indianapolis and Cincinnati. We can get a nice hotel, check out the nightlife get a couple entertainers, eat a big as meal. I know in Indianapolis, I've seen some luxury hotel rooms that we can rent. (pool in the room, big ass tv,s think Vegas-style villas.) Cincinnati has possibilities too, and I'm sure Brock can help us with ideas for there, more than i can. Lexington could be another idea, but I really don't know too much to do in Lexington but than to drink and watch most of Natty Sci try to beat up die-hard UK fans (including Wes). Although, we could arrange entertainment anywhere. One last idea is to stay in town. I know this sounds the least exciting idea, and we haven't had an intown bachelor party in a long ass time. But I wasn't really thinking getting a limo and going to dance clubs and strip clubs. If need be, I'd be willing to do a bunch of cleaning and offer up my home (keep in mind it is only a rented house) to host a party. We can have beer and alcohol here for those who can still or want to drink. (I even already have a lot of beer and liquor). I have a big screen with a wii with four controllers and LOTS of games (i'm sure someone could bring an xbox360 too for Halo or whatever else) I've got a fold-away poker table, we could use, if you are into that. I've got digital cable for other choices, including the Playboy Channel, and we could rent a couple strippers for a in-house showing. The future-Mrs. O even says we have a decent stripper pole room and will allow me to solely use the house. I will warning that Tiffany thinks it might be a a bit cramped at our space if we have anymore than 10 people. I know the idea of it is a weak sounding one for a Bachelor party, but it does sound like it would be a great regular everyday party, and more fun than a pub crawl where the dude-of-honor can't drink.

I am open to other suggestions as well., but I think the focuses at this point should be not further than 1.5 to 2 hours away. and where drinking is not the main activity, but readily available.

Marc on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 1:52 PM

UPDATE: Adrian and Chris expressed they would be on-call starting Nov 6th, so we'll keep our original date.

If we want a in-house entertainment, rather than going to a series of clubs. "Stripper Stagger" of sorts. then let me know by Wednesday so I can arrange transportation or entertainers.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 1:53 PM

What was the email for, if you were just going to post it?

Bigworm on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 1:54 PM

The basic content is the same, thought the message is altered.

Bigworm on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 1:54 PM

*though

Marc on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 1:56 PM

altered yes , and I practically got the official go ahead from Jay to change the idea. and we are too late in the game to email tag. so fuck it, it's out there now.

Marc on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM

before he allowed me to change it, I was planning renting a child molester van to catch Jay on a corner and getting Chris in a hooded-disguise-jump-suit to bum-check him into the back of a van and kidnap his ass to somewhere he might actually have fun.

Bigworm on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 2:04 PM

Why can't we still do that anyways?

Marc on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 3:56 PM

hey jackasses, let me know if you are in or the festivities of the big crazed buffalo's last hoo-rah. also let me know if you are a definite. it is getting close so your plans should be known. it can be done on the 30th solely so that your precious halloween can be saved to view scantily-clad everyday girls dressed like strippers. (the regular girl Halloween attire) call, email, or text, me with your choices preferences. I've had a couple guys sound like they were up for staying in Louisville, if you agree or think something else let me know quick, or i'll just plan the whole damned thing myself as the way I see fit.

Bigworm on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 3:58 PM

mowgli on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 4:09 PM

Wrecking Crew on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 4:33 PM

I vaguely remember having a part in looking for the owner. Or I should say someone told me I was trying to look for the owner.

Phil on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 4:47 PM

I don't remember shit until we started playing flip cup. God knows why that snapped me back to consciousness.

I was shocked to find that I had all the pieces of my tux when I woke up. And no blood on my hand's from Michelle's brother's face.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:00 PM

What? Was there a fight?

Wrecking Crew on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:00 PM

And I wasn't involved?

Phil on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:14 PM

No fight. He went "Phil" creepy there for a bit

Brock on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:33 PM

Lynnie - Thanks for solving the case of the missing clothes! Michelle has been worried about it for the past week. I'll be in touch to figure out what to do with it.

Brock on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:36 PM

He was certainly pulling out all the stops to try and put the moves on the ladies. It was actually pretty comical for a while until she started getting annoyed. Hence the reason we forced her to play flip cup.

Phil on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 7:23 PM

I mean, I was drunk enough to think I had a shot with one of the girls, and even I thought the kid was fucking hammered.

He showed a lot of promise out there. Gotta say I was impressed. He didn't make it to the White Castles, did he? I swear I felt worse from the red bull and white castles than the massive amount of beer / liquor consumed.

Brock on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 9:55 PM

He ended up passing out on the floor in Tony's room.

Ethan, Michelle's cousin Chris from Iowa, and I went to Whities for a crave case @ 4AM. That was brutal the next morning, but I still managed to make it to the Bristol brunch which was incredible in its own right.

I'm still trying to track down a photo of the Schweitzer guys hoisting Michelle in triumph from the flip-cup battle.

Marc on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 12:08 PM

From what I am gathering, it sounds like most guys want a laid back chill out party. Okay I'm fat, so I'm thinking about the food. I was thinking about getting a few platters of different items. Like a platter of boneless wings from BWWs, perhaps a platter of ribs too, but maybe somewhere else, like Chili's. Anyone have any other suggestions for food, or a better idea for a bunch of ribs. I can make some snacks and stuff for us also, and anything anyone else wants to bring works as well. I have several six packs of beer already here, but people could bring some if needed, or their are always nearby liquor stores, it IS New Albany.

Phil on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 12:16 PM

marc, did you just post a link to gaygamer.com?

Tiffany on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 12:35 PM

Phil, looks like he did. Yeah I had nothing to do with that one.

Marc on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 12:38 PM

Don't feel bad, Marc. Your link was fabulous.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 1:58 PM

We could always just do it old skool style and kidnap Jay and head to wick's for beer and pizza and see where the night takes us on Bardstown Road.

Phil on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:06 PM

This was on Clay Travis' blog
Takeaway: The tuxedo rental business is insane. How are the margins this high for a 24-hour rental? Why isn't there an online tux rental place that FedExes you the tux, does away with the physical store location, and charges like $50?

Basically, why doesn't Amazon rent tuxes?

Brock on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:06 PM

Really? Bardstown Road? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Wick's pizza, Irish pubs, and skeeting on lamp posts, but I think Jay deserves a little more than that.

joe on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:08 PM

Hookers and blackjack?

Brock on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:08 PM

Phil, except 90% of guys do not know how to properly dress in a tux and require the fine expertise of ladies in tux shops to adjust your straps and fake tie.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:09 PM

Just a thought.

Jay would appreciate it simply because all of us haven't been out to Bardstown road as a group in a very long time. Jay is kind of nostalgic afterall.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:10 PM

I don't really care what we do.

Just give me a time and place and I'll show.

Brock on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:11 PM

I just went with a group and Jay to Bardstown road within the last 6 weeks.

Maybe Wes hasn't been to Bardstown road with a group in a very long time.

However, if Jay wants to rock out Bardstown road, I'll bring my "A" game for entertainment purposes.

Brock on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:13 PM

Have we settled on a date and time yet? Those are kind of key.

Friday AND Saturday or EITHER?

Isn't Halloween on Saturday? Would that be like having a bachelor party on Fourth of July?

Phil on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:14 PM

Gotta be friday. Oct 31st is just out.

Btw, the whole tux article is good.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:25 PM

Why is the 31st out? If we are only doing a one day thing, it would give us a longer time frame for the party as opposed to throwing something together after people get off work. Plus Brock would be coming from out of town as well.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:27 PM

Is this going to count as a birthday party for Jay as well? Getting married, getting old let's celebrate!

The initial plan was Oct 30th, Friday night. Leaving your Saturday night open for whatever.

Marc on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:56 PM

I was intended to keep it Friday night. Brock let me know if this will be trouble for you getting in town.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:56 PM

Sounds like Marc has a halloween party he has to attend.

We can fill up a tub with beer and chicks and Jay can go bobbing for boobies.

Marc on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 3:03 PM

no Halloween plans other than handling out candy with Tiffany. If you guys did come over on Halloween, I would be afraid of what Chris and Adrian would say to those kids that come by. Plus it seems others have plans on Halloween.

Phil on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 3:13 PM

I say the best plan is to do up up old school style at Marc's place on Friday. I like it. I know that if I was unable to drink for health problems on my bachelor party (and lord knows that it's a 50% probability) then the last thing I'd want to do is deal with a bunch of drunk idiots while sober, and having to tell strangers why I can't drink on my bachelor party.

Fuck that.

Besides, if I want to find a slutty pumpkin, I got Saturday. And Thursday. And probably Wednesday night too depending on the JoTD crowd..

The money we save from not going out could be put towards a pretty decent spread of food too.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 3:38 PM

I vote for whatever everybody else prefers. If I am the tie breaker I'll cast my lot with Friday.

joe on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 3:42 PM

Worst work idea ever:

submit a picture and short bio describing your patriotic pet for a chance to win a Wal-Mart gift card. The cost for entry into the contest is $2 per employee. Each pet entered into the contest will have their picture and a short bio (50 words or less) displayed in the break room. Employees will be able to place their votes for the most patriotic pet. A ballot box will be set up in the break room.

Phil on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 3:50 PM

wait, where does the wal-mart giftcard come from and where does the $2 go?

And btw Joe, I'm trapped at work. I'll barely make it to trivia so I can't make it tonight.

joe on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 4:05 PM

The money goes to veteran's appreciation week finances.

Cool. Anybody else want to mountain bike in about an hour?

Brock on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 4:11 PM

I should make a Friday night event. I may be a little late, but everything rocks in Louisville until the wee hours anyway.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do on Saturday. I'm tossing around whether to do Halloween stuff in Louisville or Nashville. If anyone wanted to extend the party to Saturday, downtown Nashville gets crazy for Halloween (mainly the costumes, so drinking not required) and considering we piled 10 guys in the condo a few weeks ago, anyone wanting to stay at our place would be welcome... especially the bachelor.

If there are some good options for Halloween in Louisville, I'd be all for that too.

adrian on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 4:33 PM

Jay on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 5:55 PM

I'm pretty much stuck with Friday, because Michelle really wants to go out on Saturday in Frankfort or Lexington. You all are welcome to join us that day as well.

Brock on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 8:16 PM

So a Halloween Stagger is still being planned?

Brock on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 11:18 PM

We HAVE to try this.

Brock on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 10:35 AM

Apparently I need a government job.

joe on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 10:41 AM

Phil, per Dan Patrick show, does possession receiver mean you are white?

Marc on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 10:43 AM

Jay, let me know if you want any Frankfort crew there. You told me you expected about 12 people tops.

Tentative plans are:
Oct 30 Friday Night at Marc's House in New Albany

For those of you who need a female fix, I will look into a Southern Indiana Gentleman's club this weekend, to see if it could present us with a new place to try.

But that won't be the focus, and it some guys want to head to the Horseshoe Casino at that time, it is an option. I thought of these as earlier endeavors for those who wanted as a possible option, or could be implicated during the night.

Things to do at the house include:
Eat like a bastard

Nintendo Wii with lots of games (including most guitar Heros, wii sports and sports resort, wrestling games, smash bros. mario kart, etc.)I also have four controllers, three guitar controllers, drum kit, etc)

Poker ( i had a makeshift poker table, chips, cards, etc)

If someone wants to bring another game system (ie: another Wii or an XBOX360 we can set it up downstairs on the other tv to allow for more and different gaming option.

I have a crap-load of board games, but don't have RISK, so if you are a fan and want to play it bring it with you. (somebody want to play it with you.)

if someone wants to bring their cornhole set we can play in the yard in the back

Most people are seeming to not want a entertainer at the party, and that is fine by me, and will bring down cost a great deal allowing for a great food spread.

I want BWW Boneless wings, a platter of ribs from somewhere good, a veggie tray, assorted side dishes, snacks, sodas, and whatnot. I also have a mini-grill, popcorn maker, deep fry, and other things to make an assortment of food items.

Beer and Alcohol will be available and you are encouraged to bring any specialties you may want.

It will be a day after Jay's 31 Birthday and it will be his Bachelor party, so you are highly encouraged to attend.

We could put a Halloween theme with it as it is the next night, and you could dress up if wanted, but I suggest you all decide that. If you chose to do this my suggestions for some of your costumes would be as such:
Phil-AberZombie (AberCrombie Zombie)
Joe-Someone bleeding, a Slipnot character, or a jockey
Chris-scrubs (would be cheap for you, and it is still hard for me at times to see you as an actual doctor, ala moshing at a wedding)
Jay- a walking vagina(Phil's old costume)
Brock-something gay, but not a pirate, you've done that
Adrian- the back end of a two person horse costume
Brent-as a giant squirrel

Dress-up is more fun with hot chicks out, but you can decide as a group on that.

any other activities to include, food to plan or arrange?

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 11:21 AM

We are not going to dress up if we don't plan on leaving your house and if we don't have females invited.

Phil on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 11:43 AM

yeah, no offense marc, but did you come across that idea on gaygamer.com?

Ha, gay

douglas on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 11:49 AM

i think the only reason for halloween parties is to make girls dress as slutty as they can

Brent on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 11:51 AM

What did you guys think of the no call last night between the Yanks/Angels?

http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/medi...tent_id=7078739

Marc on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 12:11 PM

I figured on the costume thing, I wasn't pushing it either since mostly staying in house. Just popped in their and thought I'd use that idea to laid down some burns on people.

Phil on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 1:47 PM

So the important question - where we getting these ribs from?

joe on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:20 PM

Brody, you have a grill? I could see Chris and/or I being willing to grill the shit out of some meat.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:26 PM

We could use your old grill, if you want to pack it up in your trunk. But proper BBQ ribs would take a while. Even decent smoked wings take an hour to do right. A gas grill works well for most other things though. The other problem with that and something like cornhole is a lack of sunlight unless Marc has good outdoor lighting.

Phil on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:27 PM

if we have a deep fryer I could cook up some hooter's wings...

joe on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:49 PM

Crave case?

Tiffany on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:51 PM

We have a grill its gas but its not super large. So depending on what you plan on cooking it might or might not work for your needs. NO charcoal grill at our place or a smoker.

We also have a deep fryer...its a average maybe small size. We have never used it so dont know how it cooks.

As for outdoor lighting ahhh...not really that great. Well there is lighting behind us but you guys can check that out and make a decision.

I hope you guys have enough space for everything. I thought our place might be too small but meh.

Phil on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:51 PM

is white castle within walking distance?

you can't BRING a crave case. you need to have an adventure to get one. those are the rules.

Tiffany on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:53 PM

I wouldnt walk it personally (short legs and all) but its tops 2 minutes in a car.

Tiffany on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:55 PM

Its a straight shot down the street maybe 10 blocks, not far.

Cheryl on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 2:55 PM

Michelle or Brock: Which caterer did you use for your reception?

joe on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 3:04 PM

weather forecast for the 30th, hi 55 and showers.

douglas on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 3:20 PM

so it'll be sunny then

Phil on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 3:25 PM

10 blocks through Indiana in the rain? Fuck, that's what white castle is all about.

joe on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 3:40 PM

But are we doing this drunk or not?

joe on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:03 PM

Smackdown vs. Raw!

Tiffany on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:04 PM

There is a liqour store on the way if you change your mind about walking sober. They have a drive-through but I have seen several walk-ups to the window.

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:08 PM

Boil the ribs, add a can of beer so it tenderizes, bake on the sauce in the oven. No grill needed.

Phil on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:08 PM

white castles can only be consumed after 6 hours of drinking. at least in kentucky. Indiana may have different laws on the matter. So I assume we are walking in the rain while drunk. Besides, we'll have good food to start out with.

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:10 PM

Jay - have you expressed any interest as to what you would like to do for your bachelor party?

douglas on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:14 PM

wes, whatever story you tried to tell in that text got cut off

joe on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:15 PM

So are we going thunderdome on this bachelor party?

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:29 PM

Joe I think so. Brock found a wheel of death in mexico he should have brought back.

Dougals - I'll post it later I am getting ready to take my dog out and then pick up Austin from daycare.

Jay on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 5:53 PM

Wes-Hanging out being stupid sounds like a great idea to me. I'm all about a 10 block walk to White Castle as well.

Brock on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 6:02 PM

Cheryl: Mirabelle Catering. Its a French guy. He's good at making food.

Brock on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 6:07 PM

I will bring my N64. There has to be at least 1 round of Smash Bros. and MarioKart. I think we actually have 2 N64's, but only 6 controllers.

There MUST be a 10 block walk to Whities.

Wes is getting addicted to Facebook quickly. I did find the wheel of death. I drank every single drink on it. The Latin Lover drink is awful. Its basically a margarita with chocolate syrup.

Marc, how big are your trashcans. I have a feeling that I'm going to vomit from eating too much in order to make room for White Castle. All class right there. Usually the White Castle is needed to force all the crap you've consumed out the other end before it comes back up.

Jay - make some requests man! Its your day. If you want a female Sasquatch to shave down and give you a lap dance, I'm gonna need a couple of days to put that in order.

Jay on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 6:42 PM

Man, I don't really care. I just want to hang out. I guess as long as I pick what games to play, and I can be in every round I want, I don't care. And what about Golden Eye? We can't have N64 without some Jaws vs. Banana Boy action.

joe on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 7:16 PM

Has Indiana upgraded past the N64 yet?

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 9:18 PM

I am getting addicted to Facebook.

Phil on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 12:15 AM

Brock on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 12:27 AM

Anyone interested in starting an online news outlet for Louisville? The C-J will be out of business in a matter of months with this business plan.

Marc on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 7:56 AM

Look guys, here was my idea on some of the food. I wasn't planning on us grilling all that much. It takes time, if people come at different times it gets cold and whatnot. I was thinking about platters from restaurants so that everyone could get some ribs or chicken. My small propane grill could handle a decent amount of burgers at a time. but one rack of ribs takes time on a grill and I don't think one rack can feed everyone considering we all ate one rack each at Brock's bachelor party. I figured a small amount of any catering would free people up from having to cook for anyone so that we might use that time for cornhole, and a shit load of Wii and other shit.

Also, the idea of my house was a change in venue and ways to not focus all our energy on getting balls ass drunk. I don't mind a bunch of people drinking and being stupid, but I have too close neighbors to get too many people beyond thunderdrome, (which also defeats the whole idea of the proposed party).

joe on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 8:37 AM

Fuck it, we are going to Amsterdam.

joe on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 8:38 AM

or Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Marc on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:07 AM

Joe, quit your bitching. You will have your drunken stupor to White Castle, and booze.
I'm just trying to save people the trouble of having to cook, and the food going to waste. I can always re-heat platter food in the oven.

joe on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:18 AM

When was I bitching?

douglas on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:19 AM

we can go to home depot, but only if we have enough time

joe on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:26 AM

Amsterdam is a word with this group that no matter how it is used people hear Amsterdam and immediately have a positive reaction. Bed Bath and Beyond is a joke at all the married and engaged people. I am just looking for a convrsation started. I mentioned grilling because I enjoy it and it appears that Chris does too. I thought someone might like it.

Marc on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:36 AM

okay, you and chris want to bring your grill you can. mine works fine just doesn't have tall stand, think tailgate grill. But i'll be getting some burgers and have some sausage and can get hot dogs too. i just thing ribs is too big of deal to try to grill them all. so i was thinking getting them elsewhere. and we are getting a BWW platter, because I fucking love BWWs.

Brock on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:43 AM

Is there a Long John Silver's nearby? I miss that greasy food.

There will definitely need to be some chips and dip. We can also get some vegetables for Joe.

Marc on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:46 AM

there is a long johns silvers on Lewis and Clark in Clarksville (about 5-6 minutes away)

joe on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:51 AM

Just throwing around ideas. I'll check with Chris on the grilling situation. You can never go wrong with BW's like you said. Skyline dip Brock? Illegal fireworks are big in Indiana. We do need to go to Amsterdam eventually.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:58 AM

Amsterdam will be a "Tomcats" sort of adventure. Last one to get married gets their bachelor party thrown in Amsterdam. I think someone might actually die if we do that, though.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 9:58 AM

Joe - hold out till I am done with pharmacy school. If you can manage to do that, I'll go to Amsterdam.

douglas on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM

if we die in amsterdam, at least we'll have a smile on our face

Brock on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:15 AM

Amsterdam is no longer the Mecca of debauchery it once was. Maybe something in the Eastern Bloc.

What kind of crack are people smoking when they think Brian Kelly will go to UofL?

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 2:21 AM

Comment From Hot HotHot Hot:
I agree with those who say Brian Kelly would be a great hire for UL Football but I haven't seen anyone acknowledge the issue of whether he'd leave UC for another head coaching job within his current conference. Thoughts?

Eric Crawford:
Kelly is being reported by everybody as the top choice of Notre Dame, should they make a move.

Eric Crawford:
I think he's intriguing, because Cincinnati is having some real money problems, both as an athletic department and a university, right now.

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 2:21 AM

not very many think he'd leave, or even be able to leave. he'll be gone in a few years, no doubt. but definitely not to another big east school

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 8:18 AM

If I was him I'd leave to UofL, UofL has better facilities.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 8:52 AM

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 8:55 AM

World's worst baseball announcer.

http://www.break.com/index/worlds-w...-announcer.html

Brock on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 10:12 AM

I'd argue the "better facilities." Cincinnati just finished a $100 million project to build new offices, athletic dorms, training rooms, and practice gyms on campus. Of course Papa Johns is much bigger in seating capacity than Nippert, but I'd argue that watching a game at Nippert is leaps and bounds better. It was just announced this week that they have raised more than enough (with a meager donation by Dr. and Mrs. Schweitzer) to begin building the two football practice fields on campus (one indoor).

The only school that has any potential to steal Kelly away is Notre Dame, but if he builds a nice little dynasty at UC over the next few years (since Weis isn't going anywhere this year or next). Why would he want to leave? Cake walk to the BCS, fertile recruiting base, and in 2012 he gets a chance to slay the OSU dragon and claim Ohio (unless they pay another $1.5M to get out of the game).

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 10:22 AM

he can go to ND, get fired then go somewhere still better paying then UC.

douglas on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 10:58 AM

he can already own the big east from cincy, going to UL would be a lateral move, not upward, and he'd have to start from scratch while he's already up and running at cincy. if he's gonna move, or rather when he moves, it'll be to someplace like a notre dame or the SEC

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 11:05 AM

If I was him I'd stay at Cinici. I am just saying if I was Jurich I'd go all in to get him.

He has in Cinci what he will never have in the state of Kentucky - fertile recruiting ground. The state of Ohio produces a lot of D1 talent and as OSU sucks it up I suspect more and more kids will go to Cinci.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 11:08 AM

OUS will still win the Big 10 this year and go to the BCS.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 11:09 AM

OSU

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 11:09 AM

Louisville can pay him A LOT more than UC is the only reason he'd move. I've heard lots of rumors that UC can barely afford to pay him as is.

But I also haven't heard his name as being anywhere near Jurich's top guys to get

If he can leave for ND, he would be a fool not to go, otherwise he would be pulling a Greg Schiano from Rutgers when he had the chance to go to Michigan.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 12:52 PM

I went out to lunch.

douglas on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:23 PM

Brock on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:28 PM

"Barely able to pay him now"??

They just nearly doubled his salary this year. He's only in his 3rd year as the coach.

Kelly will not go to the South, Clemson and Tennessee have already flirted. His recruiting strength is Ohio, Michigan, and PA. The only place that would be lucrative for him to go is Notre Dame, but even then, in the BCS system, that schedule is brutal and why coaches have struggled there in the BCS era.

UofL could throw a lot of money at him, but I guarantee there are more wealthy donors available in Cincinnati that can match that offer. There was a groundswell of support to get the practice facilities required in his contract, so the money can be obtained, but Cincy is conservative and money isn't flashed, so its not obvious to the press.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:29 PM

Lynnie, do you have an estimated time that you think you will be at your new house tomorrow? If I can provide my services helping you move it will be at the new house, not out at the apartment.

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:33 PM

So let me ask you guys, I think it is just my place of employment but let me know.

So I am in the bathroom taking care of my after lunch business. The old man comes in and starts talking about the Louisville-Cinci game this weekend. I figure he talking to another person in the restroom, because I am in the stall and obviously can't see anybody else. Then he follows it up with "What do you think Wes?".

So there I am taking a crap and having a conversation with my boss. Awesome.

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:34 PM

Oh and the question: Is it proper bathroom etiquette to have a conversation with a man while he is taking a dump?

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:43 PM

Proper etiquette is no talking

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:45 PM

That is what I figured Joe.

Doug Huelsman sighting.

If you go to courier-journal.com under the "angels party" pictures he is in a couple of them.

douglas on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:47 PM

isn't your father in law your boss? extra awkward...and yes, no talking. talking at the pisser is fine, however there must be the required spacing between individuals

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:57 PM

straight ahead looking

douglas on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 2:13 PM

another good point, i forgot about that rule

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 2:43 PM

No, my father in law is not my boss.

The owner's son is my boss.....this was the owner.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:08 PM

John Wall is already in trouble and getting suspended for the beginning of the season?

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:09 PM

They are questioning his eligibility because his AAU coach was a registered agent though not practicing.

I don't really care, say if he does get suspended for 10% of the games he is only out 3-4 games.

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:22 PM

John Wall situation is a non-issue.

Brent on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:22 PM

If you have a johnson then talking while taking a dump is permitted.

douglas on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:24 PM

Every college recruiting him knew this might be an issue when they were recruiting him, Forde just found out about it and couldn't control himself. The thought of writing about possible UK violations was too much for him

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:27 PM

What? This news wasn't broken by Forde. He was at the SEC media days when the SEC commissioner said something.

douglas on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:36 PM

he wrote the article for espn that got picked up a lot of places making a mountain out of a molehill, everywhere else is saying it's a non issue

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:43 PM

So Pat Forde is covering the SEC media days, and the SEC commissioner comes out and says two players may be ineligible, one of which is one of the highest touted recruits in the nation. Not to mention this issue was not a known one. There were all kinds of questions about his SAT scores and the such, but to the best of my knowledge I haven't heard anything about him potentially being ineligible so it was somewhat of a surprise.

So you think Forde was supposed to not report that?

mowgli on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 3:54 PM

Joe - We start moving around 11:30, not sure how long it will take. Wes and Adrian are come over then, I think Phil may come out. I will call you or text you when we get there. I'll get your cell # from Wes. I'm guessing we will get to the new house around 2:00.

Phil - Can you still help out?

douglas on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:00 PM

everyone who follows recruiting knew about his AAU coach and him being a registered agent. every college knew it might be a minor issue at most months ago. there's a duke recruit who played ball on the exact same team as wall, i forgot his name, but he's a white boy who went to duke, so he's not being mentioned at all in this whole thing. the rumblings about his SAT scores were the same that accompany every high profile recruit. fact is, wall had straight A's and the highest GPA out of all the UK freshmen during the summer. he carried like a 3.5 gpa in high school or something

douglas on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:01 PM

what forde did was blow it up and made it sound much bigger than it really is. the chances of him having to miss any games at all are extremely minimal, but the worst case scenario is he has to miss 3 or 4 games, like wes said

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:06 PM

it wasn't an opinion piece. it stated facts.

the potential #1 overall draft pick could have eligibility issues. every single reporter at the SEC event reported it. Only reason's Forde's got linked around because ESPN.com is the de facto standard place when people send links.

Blaming Forde for this being news is just retarded. Blame the SEC commissioner for announcing it.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:16 PM

So the other guy isn't an issue because he is white or because he went to Duke?

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:17 PM

Duke player played for AAU coach. John Wall received around $8000 in benefits from AAU coach.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:17 PM

Did the other guy receive the money?

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:20 PM

Everything the radio said is what Phil is saying down to the dollar and 3-4 games.

Phil on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:22 PM

It wasn't money. The coach was paying for trips John Wall made.

No word on the Duke player having his visits paid for by his coach. I don't think he did.

Really nothing to do with Calipari and UK besides the fact that they gotta deal with him. And I'm sure Central Bank will make sure Wall has a "job" to "work" for the $8000 so this is a non-issue.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:25 PM

Central Bank is a Pitino backer and Central Bank takes my dad to UL games and he sat next to the Willard's last year.

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:26 PM

John Wall will have to pay back the money (his momma will get a signature loan) and he will sit 4 games to be on the safe side because I am sure if UK played 35 games this year 10% = 3.5 and they will want to round up.

Bigworm on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:27 PM

It's a non issue.

Brock on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:36 PM

Marc, can we canoe in your front yard for Jay's party?

Alternatively, I can bring the big inflatable raft that Chris, Jay, and I almost drown in and row the Ohio.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 6:53 PM

I'd be more worried about crossing the ohio than Green River Lake. The current is a little more brisk, and we'd probably get some fucked up disease or our kids would have a third eye. And what are we going to do cross the river from IN to piss on Louisville. If it were the other way around it might make sense.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 7:32 PM

BACHELOR PARTY!!!! DO IT!

Brock on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 7:53 PM

The bachelor party is next week right? I didn't miss something.

We'll be in Louisville pretty late tonight, but if anyone is out and about (particularly JOTD or St. Matts), let me know.

joe on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 7:56 PM

Correct. Chris is on call and I haven't heard from anyone else yet tonight. If I do I will let you know.

Wrecking Crew on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 12:39 PM

Why are people so fucking retarded? You repeatedly tell them how things are supposed to be done, yet they keep calling before things are done. Do people not learn. Seriously, what the fuck?

douglas on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 3:22 PM

douglas on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 3:22 PM

joe on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 4:20 PM

How late you there? I am going to meet paul's second kid tonight at his parents house.

Lynnie, like the house, reminds me of st. matthews.

douglas on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 5:28 PM

getting there about 8ish, it's with a bunch of MBA people you've met before, we'll all be drinking and throwing bowling balls around, so i'm sure we'll be there awhile

Wrecking Crew on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 9:11 AM

Bigworm on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 9:54 AM

So no UC comments from Brock yet?

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 9:30 AM

i'm not sure it's fair or even really fun to make fun of UL right now. why dig up a corpse and kick it some more when it's already dead

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:14 AM

yeah, i think brock knows that most Louisville fans didn't even bother with the game. The message boards were more than apathetic about the loss.

Louisville winning that game does far more harm to the program than losing

Wrecking Crew on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:33 AM

i'll ride if i can get my bike fixed

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:33 AM

You're killing me Douglas. I think you got old when you bought the house that requires you to do yard work. I've surprisingly been able to get out running and biking a lot lately and don't hurt too bad when I exercise. My knees are only mildly hurting when I run 4-5 miles.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:51 AM

i just don't do that much with my legs, i can go in a gym and lift for two hours and feel completely fine the next day. i will never in my life run 4-5 miles again though. i'm just mainly sore from bending down in a catcher's squat picking shit up, just not used to it, that's all

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:12 AM

Chris, fix your bike

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:18 AM

how much does a good bike cost? and what constitutes a good bike? i'm assuming not something you buy at target

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:22 AM

Mountain bike or road bike? I've never bought a road bike. For mountain bikes, I bought my original Mongoose which is pretty heavy but got the job done for $189 at Dick's. After I realized I enjoyed mountain biking I upgraded to a Gary Fisher at Bike Sport for $400-$500.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:25 AM

i guess a mountain bike, i've been mulling getting one for awhile, just haven't pulled the trigger. i'd like to do more cardio but i hate running so i refuse to do that.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:29 AM

free KFC grilled chicken today:
http://articles.moneycentral.msn.co...;_blg=1,1332250

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:31 AM

brent knows more than me but the difference between a $180 bike and a $500 bike are HUGE. Not just in the quality of the components, but in how easy it is to maintain. Some of those cheaper bikes have everything just welded to the frame so if you bend a part, you gotta replace the whole fucking thing.

Bikes general cost:
$200 - cheap, annoying to maintain, heavy, don't ride great
$4-600 - ok, ok to maintain, still heavy, ride better
$800 - generally a $500 bike with better components
$1600 - now we are talking. quality components, easier to main maintain, lighter, ride great, full suspension
$8000 - same as above, just lighter

Road bikes follow the same pattern.

Really with the trails we ride I think the $800 bikes are the best bang for your buck. You don't need a great suspension on the fork, and you definitely don't need a suspension on the rear. You can get a solid steel frame with some good components and you'll have a good bike that'll last forever.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:35 AM

Good outline Philco.

Douglas - I know when I went to Scheller's the guy recommended that I get atleast a Trek 4900 series due to my stature. I am guessing he'd recommend the same for you. It has some decent upgrades on it and the price isn't all that bad at around $650. I'd check with them and see what they say, also they have some good deals on last years models or discountinued models that you might get a good deal on.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:36 AM

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:37 AM

So word with UK and John Wall is that this might be much more than a non-issue.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:42 AM

where'd you see that? i haven't heard anything about it since last week, figured it ran its cycle

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:50 AM

Took this from my premium forum, contributed by a respected journalist with close ties to the program.

"Talked to a couple of coaching buddies over the weekend and obviously John Wall situation came up.

They had some interesting stories about Clifton — none concerning Wall. However, their belief is that there could be a lot of money involved to pay back because of numerous trips Wall went on with Clifton, including several where they flew. They also told me that in a situation like this, it is not just the trips to UK, but any trip they took together that Wall will be held responsible for and they said if it exceeds a certain amount of money, the punishment can be more than 10 percent.

They also both insisted they had no doubt Wall had no idea there would be any possible conflict, but they both agreed that Clifton was "trouble" and always had been. Just words to remember and again they had no specifics on anything about Wall and UK, just general opinions about Clifton and how he takes advantage of kids."

Marc on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:55 AM

Ribs are looking expensive when looking at ordering a platter (over $120). too timely to try and cook too many at the house. Do we want them? or will we be cool with pulled pork as a substitute? and should have plenty of other options. let me know your thoughts on ribs though, and be willing to contribute to the fund for them.

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:59 AM

I've heard similar stuff from a guy close to the UK program.

But I still think it'll be a non-issue, for UK at least. Stories relating to Cousins is what I heard was the serious shit, but that got cleaned up nicely.

Jay on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:01 PM

I'm all about some pulled pork.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:02 PM

The same respected journalist does make a good point though Douglas. He says no way Calipari and UK allow Wall to be such a central point of the offense if there is any chance he will be ruled ineligible.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:03 PM

Phil - you know college athletics use the divert tactic. Have them pay attention to the left hand so they don't notice what the right hand is doing.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:04 PM

they did still pick up bledsoe, people forget he was the #2 or #3 rated PG in the class. if something dramatic happens with wall, they won't fall off a cliff, although it would still sufficiently suck

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:04 PM

The decision i think is Kentucky BBQ vs FABD.

Marc on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:06 PM

well phil, how much does it cost for them. I haven't had FABD but hear it is awesome (mostly from you). where is Kentucky BBQ?

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:07 PM

btw, people have gotten drunk and mentioned skating in the past. You can get these skates for $30 the next two days:
http://www.hockeygiant.com/nbh10sktsr.html

use the coupon code of nike1026 to get an addition 10% of the price.

Hockey skates use European / Canadian sizing, so to get the right size subtract 1.5 sizes from your current shoe size.

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:08 PM

Kentucky BBQ is close to my place across from the school from the blind.

here's their menu
http://www.kybbqco.com/menu.html

Marc on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:10 PM

I thought you might have been talking about that one on Frankfort. I didn't like the ribs there. dry and over-cooked. only had them once those.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:14 PM

If Kentucky BBQ is the place that Chris, Joanna, Abby and I went to...that place is yummy.

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:14 PM

ha, ha - suck this UC. Louisville dropped you 3 spots in the poll by playing our sorry asses.

C-A-R-D-S CARDS!

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:14 PM

Even when you win, you lose.

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:14 PM

Louisville is also a 4pt favorite against Ark St.

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:21 PM

Both places are awesome. So for food we are just contributing funds?

Marc on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:22 PM

maybe KY BBQ just sucked the day I was there. it is across from Tiffany's job, so I made point to try it. And then i remember Chris saying it was his favorite BBQ place. perhaps I should try it again.

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:24 PM

Back to bikes, Chris and I both have Gary Fisher's, but Chris got the fancier version. Only difference I have noticed is with the front suspension. I haven't had any problems with my bike too much. Chris has occasional problems, but I blame most of those on his body type and style of riding, really fast and carefree.

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:27 PM

you two both have hard tails, right?

Marc on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:32 PM

i need to know by today, if you all have any specialty requests. Whether ribs from a place is something you want or not. My plans are puled pork, burgers, BWW boneless chicken (thinking Spicy Garlic, but will settle for Mild or Medium if the group dictates it), assorted side items, maybe corndogs, popcorn, snacks, sodas, beer, liquor, anything else you would like me to get? (Note: I might not get it, if only one or two people want it.)

Reminder:I have a stove, small grill, small deep fry (never used), two crock pots (thinking for the pulled pork for one), several buffet servers for other items, and assorted other kitchen appliances and gadgets. so let me know if you have a special request to be made, or to be purchased. (or if you are planning something let me know.)

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:34 PM

I think mine is the Wahoo and Chris has the marlin. I may have them backwards, but they are both Gary Fishers.

I have red bull that came home in my cooler from the last bachelor party I can bring.

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 12:38 PM

UK playing in Black could be ridiculous. Or look slightly awesome. I think they should have a Blue Out personally.

http://www.marbletea.com/images/MIS...blue_myself.jpg

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:14 PM

yeah that is the rumor

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:16 PM

that's what I told Pat. They have 12 divisions. The lowest level is for people that have only been skating for two years. But skating for two years up there is probably different than skating for two years down here.

It is a national tournament though, so who knows.

We'll just do some ice fishing, snow mobile riding, get hammered and try not to freeze to death.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:21 PM

This is Christian Johnson said about UK switching to black jerseys.

"Johnson thinks changing from normal game attire in warmups to black jerseys could be an emotional boost for the Cats.

“If you look at a team wearing one thing when they are warming up and then they come back out wearing all black, it is kind of intimidating. It messes with their mentality,” Johnson said."

If this is true, Oregon is the scariest team in the land.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:22 PM

Brooks likes school colors though, so I'd be surprised if he let us be black cats even on Halloween.

Phil on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:25 PM

the uk players do seem pretty tweeked about it. if brooks played old curmudgeon about the colors, they warm up in them and they come back and the grad assistants had put black jerseys in everyone's lockers, well, I bet some of the players would lose their shit out of excitement.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:28 PM

I agree Philco.

Atleast the black pants would cover their shit stains, and well the stench mirror what we get on the field if the QB production doesn't increase.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:28 PM

stench might mirror

Brock on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:33 PM

Marc, as long as there is LOTS of food, I'm cool with whatever. Ribs are a nice, but I would suggest getting more wings or corndogs in place of pricey ribs. Famous Dave's does a nice spread down here in Nashville.

I can make some Skyline Dip or Taco Dip, but I'll be a late arrival.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:33 PM

Pulled pork or chicken works for me.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:34 PM

the good thing about the 3 qb's is that teams can't prepare for just one style of play. but they are sucking ass right now. cobb did say that they haven't unleashed half of the 'wildcat' playbook, so who knows.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:39 PM

Fuck yeah that is what I say too. How does a team prepare for 75 passing yards per game? Fuck if I know.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:48 PM

they can throw for negative yards for all i give a shit, as long as they win. i'm just looking for a bright side here

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:50 PM

Seriously I am sure the defense says oh fuck when Cobb is back there, other than that, they aren't shaking. The key for UK to win here on out is going to be at the line of scrimmage. We have to control both sides of the ball. Micah might be out with a small MCL tear.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:01 PM

newton does a cannon attached to his shoulder though. he's still inconsistent as fuck, i think he had 2 completions the other day, but if he ever gets it under control he'll be good

Brock on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:19 PM

... here we come Motor City bowl.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:21 PM

I pray to God Cinci gets Florida or Bama.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:21 PM

4 Bowls in a row would be pretty sweet. How many does Cinci have?

Wrecking Crew on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:22 PM

Douglas, unless your serious about MTB, I wouldn't invest too much into it. No offense to any one here, but I think Joe and I are about the only ones who have kept riding. I started on a Diamondback, and would not recommend it for someone your size b/c it will break. I broke a couple before I upgraded to a fisher. Like Joe sadi, we have basiclly the same thing ($500-600) except for some of the components and they have held up well, especially with as much as we put them through. Scott also has a fisher too, same model as mine. And Phil I don't know what your talking about, but don't get a steel frame. I think most people's beginning bike is going to be aluminium, and the upgrades are to carbon fiber and titanium.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:27 PM

I like riding, I just never had the time while taking pre-reqs. I am sure I will start it up again in the spring.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:27 PM

i'm not serious about it now, probably in the spring though, my money's going to my basement this winter, plus i'm not going to buy a bike right before it gets too cold. it's just something i've thought about, and sarah keeps wanting me to get one, I just haven't done it, no sense of urgency i guess. The topic was just brought up so thought I'd ask about it. I imagine I'll probably go the way Joe went, drop 4-5 hundred bucks maybe, get a decent bike but not top of the line

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:27 PM

Does anybody else have random bruises on them from moving?

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:34 PM

I have a couple on my arms.

For a if you are think $400-$600, take a look at Bicycle Sport on Breckinridge or Schellers. St. Matthews Schwinn doesn't have much. If Sarah wants you to get one get Chris' bike because it has a lock on the suspension for when you switch from road to trail and back. I don't see Sarah really hitting the trails much.

Bigworm on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:36 PM

That place Joe is talking about is a little cheaper than Schellers too. I remember pricing the same bike but it was a couple bucks cheaper there. Also, they will only service bikes during peak season if you get it from there.

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:38 PM

Bicycle Sport has 1 year free repairs and will only repair bikes purchased there like Wes said. I get minor repairs done at Shwinn because it is cheaper and quicker usually.

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 3:41 PM

I really like the look of lynnie and cheryl's 3 bikes. I think he has all Trek's. One he said he got from a friend and another was purchased on e-bay as just a frame and then pieced the rest together. Lynnie said it is 2.2 miles to Seneca Park from his house. Lets get everyone out there some time. Adrian still have his bike? What was it a cannondale?

Wrecking Crew on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 4:04 PM

You may want to think about getting a bike in the off-season. Kinda like cars, they are trying to move old models, and you may get a deal.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 4:32 PM

good point

Brock on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 4:36 PM

I do hope Cincy gets Florida in a bowl. The Big East does very well against the SEC in bowls.

douglas on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 4:43 PM

i hope they get it too, if for no other reason than to piss off USC and OSU. But if they stay undefeated and texas loses, they deserve it hands down.

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 7:05 PM

Iowa UC final

joe on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 7:16 PM

Douglas, if you want to try out a bike you can borrow my old Mongoose for a little just to see if you even want a bike. I'll take you out on a trail if you want.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 8:16 AM

You and me both Brock. I hope you get Bama, but you won't get them unless you are going to the title game.

joe on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 8:29 AM

joe on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 11:23 AM

I'm seeing a short film of me never saying a word and all this annoying obnoxious stuff going on around me and a narrative running in my head kind of like the fight club narrative.

douglas on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 11:26 AM

the forced birthday parties are the worst. everyone singing a deadpan 'happy birthday' while the birthday person sat there with a bored expression. the manager asking why you're five minutes late, when the bus was running behind was another favorite. getting asked into the manager's office the day after leaving at 4:56 instead of 5:00. having to whisper to those in the cubes next to you b/c it was so quiet if you spoke in a normal voice the whole floor would hear you.

Brock on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 12:17 PM

It just occurred to me that Chris didn't know what the "This is Walter!" quote was from.

Considering this came from the same movie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsUr5acPY9g

I am now frightened that he didn't get the context of that chant when we were screaming it at little kids in Panama.

Don't ask me why all of a sudden this popped into my head.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 12:22 PM

That makes a little more sense now too. Maybe I was just drunk, but I thought you came up with a semi creative chant to yell at some Bible thumping teenagers. It wasn't any worse than me telling some of them that there is no god, while Wes is trying to catch beer in his mouth poured from the balcony.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 12:35 PM

From the balcony 3 stories up thank you.

we should call this movie "Spaced at Office"

douglas on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 1:58 PM

that's what makes the show the office so funny. i watch and sarah doesn't get why i think it's hilarious b/c she's never worked in a traditional office before

joe on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:02 PM

I was avoiding the comedy aspect and more going with Michael Douglas "falling Down" kill all stupid people action drama style.

joe on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:05 PM

screw the sitcom or full length film. I am going award winning short film.

douglas on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:07 PM

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:10 PM

joe on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:11 PM

There is potential.

Bigworm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:23 PM

Douglas - not sure how credible this is but something of interest:

"the basketball team is going to have an open practice in Freedom Hall this Sunday, Nov. 1st at approx. 5:30PM. The details have just been finalized. Also, the Wall situation with the NCAA is determined that he will have to sit three games, however, UK is not happy and is currently fighting it vigorously. I don't know how you fight the NCAA, and I expect that Wall will miss the first three games."

Bought and confirm Food for Friday:
Pulled Pork, BWW's Boneless Buffalo Wings (4 different flavors currently, or I could change them on Friday), Barbeque wings, black angus burgers, corndogs, Chips, cookies.

Some beer. Makers Mark bourbon, Captan Morgan's rum, tequila, vodka, etc.

If you want anything else or plan extensive drinking please bring enough to sustain yourself. There are liquor stores under a mile away. You can even get liquor at Krogers in Indiana (yeah Krogers plus card.)
Also white Castle is a long, but do-able straight shot down the street.

I have wii, old school xbox, and n64 with two controllers. Would appreciate someone to bring either another wii system or an xbox 360 for additional gaming, and so we can spread out. Also cornhole boards would be useful if anyone wants to play.

If you wants to play poker for money, bring money i guess. I have plenty of boards games. If you want to play RISK, bring in who knows. I even have three version of Monopoly for you fags.

During the night might detour to the Horseshoe or to a gentlemen's club, if people want to.

Thinking about 6 o'clock at the earliest to show up.

any questions?
or additions?

The bride's maids don't get a choice in the music?

Jay on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 7:53 AM

Chris-Who gives a shit about the bridesmaids. I'm responsible for all the music. Here were my ideas

Adrian-That Godsmack song I was too drunk to remember
Wes- I don't know. Has there been a song about eating someones eye?
Phil- Summer of '69, because he loves Ryan Adams so much
Brock- Chris nailed it. Highway to the Danger Zone. That's right Ice...Man
Marc-It's not Unusual, so he could do the Carlton.

joe on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 8:54 AM

joe on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:03 AM

We did a stupid fundraiser of buying candygrams to be delivered to coworkers and I just got one that said happy slutty pumpkin day.

Brock on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:09 AM

Jay - BRYAN Adams sings Summer of '69, not RYAN Adams.

I'm fine with Danger Zone, but if I'll think about it and see if I can come up with another. Can I just get a recording of a Lion's roar?

Chris should have "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack.

joe on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:17 AM

do they roar in the Thundercats theme song?

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:34 AM

I don't think so. I think they just keep repeating thundercats. Just come into the lion roar at from the beginning of movies.

http://www.entertonement.com/clips/...SongThundercats-

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:41 AM

Brock - Jay knows that Brian Adams sings it. Phil gets all bent out of shape when people confuse Brian/Ryan Adams.

I have no clue what music I will choose....but it will be something classy. Do you think he has "Me and my Bitch" by Big Poppa?

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:41 AM

Big Poppa = notorious BIG

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:49 AM

Douglas - so the stuff with Wall is that he was cleared by the NCAA some time ago with all this crap....and then it "resurfaced" somehow. Not sure who got in their ear, but somebody did for sure. So what I am hearing is that the NCAA wants him to sit for 3-4 games, however, Sandy Bell isn't going to lie down and take it from the NCAA. She is fighting them back on principal alone because they already cleared him.

Personally, I am glad that UK is fighting the NCAA on this one....go get them Sandy.

Phil on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:13 AM

i think you may have confused me for the real ryan adams...

Bigworm on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:17 AM

Phil on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 4:55 PM

"Fuck her gently" would be a nice touch.

Phil on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 5:08 PM

My only concern with Fucking in the Bushes is that the lyrics involve the words "bastard" and telling people to go to hell. And there's a good chance a wedding DJ won't have that particular song on the ol' ipod.

Ethical question:
So I was running late this morning to catch the bus. I am turning left off Plymouth onto Breckinridge Lane to get to K-Mart to catch the TARC bus. As I turn I notice a wrecked car with its headlights on in a ditch on the side of the road and a car in the turning lane wrecked with its headlights on leaking fluid all over the street. There were no other cars around and I saw no people out of their cars. I drove around them and went and caught the bus because I didn’t want to use vacation hours or get fired for being late again and I may have let multiple people die in their cars. Is it justifiable to say I was late because I didn’t want people left for dead on the road? Did I do the right thing in my I don’t want to be fired world?

joe on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 9:21 AM

Phil, my mom called saying that bell practice was cancelled because it is rumored that Jerome has Swine Flu. Is this true?

Most people use Yahoo for their fantasy football league. One of the leagues I'm in uses Fleaflicker, and one of the nice touches Fleaflicker adds is that every fantasy game is broken into quarters. The 1PM games are the first quarter. The 4:15PM are the second. The Sunday Night game is the third quarter, and the Monday Night game is the fourth. On its face, this is stupid. But man, does it look fucking awesome when you outscore some asshole who has no players going in the MNF game 28-0 in the fourth quarter of box score. A DOMINANT PERFORMANCE IN THE CLUTCH!

Bigworm on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:13 PM

Philco - I heard UofL is a 3 point favorite over arkansas state. Do you still bet with bodog and if so ,what are the odds there?

What type of bets can you place???

joe on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:18 PM

I am hering 4 pts. Big difference.

Phil on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:21 PM

can't bet with them right now. -3 at home means it's basically a push. It was -4.

With VA probably done for the season and no one knowing who will start at QB along with a wet field...who knows what will happen. ASU played Iowa tough, but also lost to Troy and Louisiana-Monroe.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:28 PM

I think UofL by 10+. But that is just me.

Phil on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:34 PM

sagarin puts AK State as a 5pt favorite, and that's assuming we got VA.

It could get ugly.

Bigworm on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:35 PM

Wow...simply WOW is all I can say.

Krags got his bags packed yet?

Phil on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:41 PM

nope. that's why my buddy and i are bagging krag. hopefully we'll be up on bagkrag.com soon.

douglas on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 3:54 PM

the best part of that deadspin article was when he was talking about throwbacks saying baltimore should wear old cleveland browns unis

I just got off the bus and in the back of my truck I found a woman's purse. I couldn't find anything so I tossed it out and saifd fuck it and left it in the parking lot. I bet someone stole it and cleaned it out and dumped it on me.

Brock on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:36 PM

Joe, aren't you the good Samaritan today!

joe on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:37 PM

Tomorrow it is a dead hooker in the back of the pick up probably.

Brent on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:40 PM

Joe, I had my old banged up blacktop taken out along with the sidewalk to the street (wtf do I need a sidewalk to the street for anyway. And I had them put in concrete and a concrete sidewalk to the driveway. It makes my house look ten times better, the guys that did it were at least $500 cheaper than the closest estimate with one guy being about $1200 more. I paid $3K for the driveway but it needed it, it needed it bad.

Phil on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:44 PM

i think getting rid of the busted ass civic in front would also help improve the curb appeal.

joe on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:47 PM

how long is your driveway? I may just have a new layer of asphalt put in since it is cheaper.

Brent on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:49 PM

I think its around 600 ft, dude, I know, that's why I got the new driveway, I couldn't be rolling the accord up on some busted ass driveway, cmon now, its like a 90 degree day.

Phil on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:57 PM

There are rumors of Stein starting this weekend for the cards...

joe on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:58 PM

square feet or is your driveway 2 football fields long?

Brent on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 6:00 PM

it's a long driveway dude, you want to come to this palace, you better grab a snickers...

square footage, I think its 60 x 10 or somewhere close to it.

Brock on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 6:37 PM

There are rumors that Beatty will be the new UofL coach.

joe on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 9:13 PM

Does that mean all the brohms are coming back?

Phil on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 10:48 PM

Marc on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 8:22 AM

Hey all, if some people could bring a few things it would help out.
Plastic utensils, cups (i got plates and napkins already).

Could some people bring sodas or chips. THere is even a very close convenience store called "the Little Tiger" to the house, but I am non-existent on cash right now.

also I know I have asked a few times, but if anyone was thinking about bringing a game system, or corn-hole boards please let us know here so we don't double up. If you all want to play wii on one and n64 or xbox on the other than let me know if you can bring two other controllers. (n64 and xbox only have two controllers)

Brock on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 9:16 AM

I've got extra N64 controllers already packed up.

Did I miss what the rough estimate of food costs was? I must have because I was going to send you a check to prevent cash flow problems.

I'm going to try and leave work as early as possible, but I'll still be rather late relative to everyone else. Let me know if you need anything and I'll get it on the way.

.... like a dinosaur from Dinosaur World near Mammoth Cave.

joe on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 9:24 AM

all I have heard is anytime after 6:00, bring whatever you want plus 30 dollars. is this right?

Marc on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 10:15 AM

correct.

Bigworm on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:16 AM

Marc on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:28 AM

I should have plenty of beer, but most of them are seasonal beers or specialty beers. So if you have to have Killians, Guiness, Smithwicks, or whatnot, then bring it.

joe on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 12:19 PM

Bigworm on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 1:40 PM

Bigworm on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 1:41 PM

Phil on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 2:48 PM

joe on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 2:53 PM

Phil on Monday, November 02, 2009 at 3:00 PM

we can talk about the QB controversy at Louisville. Three QBs who have each won one meaningless game. One on the bench who theoretically is the bets talent.

DRAMA! INTRIGUE!

joe on Monday, November 02, 2009 at 3:13 PM

From the Kragthorpe press conference today:

"Sorry I am late, I was actually talking to John Gruden, he wanted to know how tall Will Stein was."

Wrecking Crew on Monday, November 02, 2009 at 3:16 PM

There is no QB controversy, only coaching controversy as to who should be the new coach. Seriously, with 5 minutes left and an 8 point lead, who the fuck tries passing plays as opposed to trying to run out the clock, especially with RB's who were doing pretty well.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, November 02, 2009 at 3:17 PM

Joe, you going to try to ride today?

joe on Monday, November 02, 2009 at 3:29 PM

Upside to UL football this year, no lines at the concession stand and bathroom, and you get home from the games in record time.

Brock on Monday, November 02, 2009 at 6:31 PM

Phil, and anyone else interested in hockey.

I'm being offered $20 tickets for the Monday game between Nashville and Calgary in the lower bowl (rows 15-20). Of course its a Monday game, so unless you are super ambitious like Phil was last time, you may need to take Tuesday AM off.

Let me know.

Phil on Monday, November 02, 2009 at 6:37 PM

you know what section?

Brock on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 12:57 AM

Not sure what section, but I'll look into it.

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 2:01 AM

for the lower bowl, 113-119 and 103-108 are great seats. the other ones...well, they are still $75 tickets. fun, but not a great view of the action.

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 2:03 AM

also, how many tickets? you and michelle going?

joe on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 6:59 AM

Can't go, out of town.

Brock on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 9:31 AM

its appears the ticket quantity is unlimited, but we have to decide by Friday. I am definitely going, but Michelle has to check her work schedule.

joe on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 10:28 AM

Is it closer to go from NC to Nashville or Louisville?

joe on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 10:30 AM

This weekend going to NC to visit Laura's friend. Last time involved cops and domestic disputes and me spewing on UNC's campus in my quest to kick tyler hansborough in the knee. I don't know where to set my goals this year.

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 10:31 AM

I believe the calgary game is the 28th

douglas on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 10:32 AM

tough call joe, you've already set a pretty high standard

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 10:35 AM

hey brock, just let me know what section they are. If they are on a good section I'm definite. If they are so-so, I'll probably go too.

joe on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 10:41 AM

I was considering getting drunk and looking for tyler hansborough to help me find my lost puppy like in that one commercial.

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 10:51 AM

i think you should get so drunk that tyler hansborough has to find you.

btw, i was playing GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony last night. You work as a night club manager in the game, so they have like night club "things" to do. I get in a champaigne chugging contest with some chick.

count me in - those will be some good seats. it'll be on the visiting side so we'll see Calgary attack twice.

Joe - you sure you can't make it? The tickets are for the 24th.

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 12:02 PM

douglas, you want rumors, so here's a new one for you. allegedly Mark Sander, the DeSales coach and AD has been contacted to be on staff next season. He was contacted by his old roommate about the job.

Up to the readers to figure out why this is juicy.

joe on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 12:05 PM

So what day is the game? Monday the 23, tuesday the 24th? I am confused?

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 12:06 PM

opps, monday.

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 12:14 PM

so why are these tickets so unlimited. like if I show with four people that won't be a problem?

Brent on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 12:26 PM

Hey Brock, if Phil is going, I'll tag a long, count me in.

Joe, I could pick you up at work that day to make it easier.

joe on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 1:22 PM

hmmm, that would be possible.

douglas on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 1:23 PM

phil, you mean UL's coach? I'm assuming his old roommate must be gruden or someone

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 1:37 PM

Yeah, Louisville's coach. Mark Sander played LB for Louisville in the late 80s. Second all-time leading tackler too.

I think he was stabbed at O'shea's back before they moved to the new location.

Just rumors, of course.

joe on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 1:46 PM

Sanders did get in trouble at Desales for funneling other sports money to his football team as athletic director.

douglas on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 1:50 PM

good deal. the rumor's still not complete though until you say whether you heard it from your cousin's ex girlfriend's parents or your uncle's drinking buddy who plays golf with someone in the administration.

Phil on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 1:53 PM

believe it or not, this all apparently came from multiple people that know Sander. No one knows if he's just fucking with them or not.

joe on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 2:07 PM

Colin Cowherd show today:

Brock on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 4:35 PM

The game is on Monday, November 30th. I don't know where this 28th, 23rd, 24th stuff came from.

Vanderbilt has a group rate connection. Apparently we had over 170 get tickets last year, so they'll give us pretty much an unlimited supply.

$20 tickets.

Phil and Brent, with Joe being a maybe.

You are hauling some ass if you leave at 5pm and get here in enough time to get food before the game. It takes me a solid 3 hours to make the drive. You all are also welcome to crash at our place and head back in the AM in case you wanted to take in some nightlife.

Cincy plays Bellarmine as well this pre-season. Watch out for the Knights.

joe on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 10:26 AM

So who do you cheer for in that situation Brock? I am rooting for UL tonight, but if Bellarmine wins I don't feel that bad. If UK played Bellamine I would say that Douglas and Wes would cheer for UK.

douglas on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 10:33 AM

In preseason, I don't give a shit, I'll root for Bellarmine against UK, it would help them and give them a boost more than it'd hurt UK. Regular season, I don't root against UK

joe on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 10:52 AM

I just got a good chuckle. I know they were talking horse racing, but they said something along the lines of "with 99-1 odds he looked over and pulled the shocker." Stupid dual meaning of shocker has made me less mature then I already was.

douglas on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 10:58 AM

"less mature then I already was"

this coming from the man who searched UNC's campus specifically to puke on hansbrough, an effort i totally applaud for the record

joe on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 11:01 AM

No, it was to kick him in the knee. The puking was just coincidentally on UNC's campus during my quest.

douglas on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 11:07 AM

my bad, you're right, I misremembered

joe on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 11:16 AM

No contest. I root for UC. I went to college there for 6 years, Bellarmine 4.

Phil on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 1:02 PM

Teams will play strip shootout. You skate up, take a shot on the goalie. If you make it, you have succeeded and you skate to the bench or along the boards. If you don't score, you take off a piece of equipment / clothing and get back in line.

Martin St. Louis, who is like 5'9" in skates, kept getting stoned by the goalie, so he was slowly removing equipment. I guess he didn't want any part of skating around in his underwear, so he took off his skates before it got too risque.

A team saw this and repeated it at one of their practices, which happened to be at a public rink. Didn't go over well.

Phil on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 1:03 PM

Pitino will do his best to make sure this game is close. It's a yearly tradition.

joe on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 3:57 PM

Who are we...U-B!

After you all graduated we started this chant at basketball games because they had a B flag and a U flag and they would run around the court B first then U following. They would stop in front of the student section and wave the flags proudly as it read U-B. That was back when we were still the laughingstock of the GLVC and the crowd consisted of parents, random people who donated money and the baseball team drunk.

You should put up posters that have a picture of a dead puppy and a kid crying and have it say "I lost my puppy and Tyler Hansborough didn't find it for me. Thanks a lot, Tyler Hansborough. I counted on you!" In backwards crayon. Make lots of copies of them and put them up everywhere. It would be really really hilarious.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 1:24 PM

From Douglas' article...

(As to heckling Pitino will see) Calipari guarantees Kentucky fans won't cross the line of good taste when Louisville visits.

"I promise you it will not get ugly," he says. "I think we have classy fans. If they look back on time (Pitino) spent here, it was a good time and he led the program to where they wanted it to go."

I call bullshit. Those rednecks and students will be all over his ass.

Bigworm on Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 1:27 PM

Bigworm on Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 1:28 PM

douglas on Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 2:33 PM

i think calipari's statement might be proven wrong, just a bit. the student section's already gunning for him, the signs will most likely be not safe for TV. it will be rough to say the least, but he should expect that at every stop he makes this year

Bigworm on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 9:53 AM

No I didn't waterproof it.

Bigworm on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 9:55 AM

I didn't have any signs of it needing it, after 5 years the house should have settled enough and there weren't any cracks in any of the walls worth being concerned about.

Bigworm on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 9:56 AM

Here's a DIY on waterproofing the basement.

Also, apparently the phrase "first thing in the morning" means something different to everybody that uses it.

I've been waiting 2 hours for the service guy to show....

douglas on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 10:07 AM

I'm getting ready to start finishing mine, i've got a crack that's leaked like twice since i moved in, and neither time has been big, just a little bit. a buddy of mine owns a waterproofing company and he's going to take care of that one from the outside. It's almost 20 years old now and that's the only leak I've had, and I check religiously every time it rains, just trying to figure out if i should install a more thorough waterproofing system or not

douglas on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 10:10 AM

i'm meeting lowe's at my condo later today to install my new dishwasher, and i got the old "sometime between 1 and 4" spiel

Bigworm on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 10:11 AM

If he patches the leak and it is good you are probably fine.

I'd check the basement to see if you have any cracks in the walls that are about the size of the thickness of a quarter. If so, I'd patch those cracks.

Bigworm on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 10:12 AM

Also, before you lay down carpet check the floors for cracks and how level they are.

It was amazing how level my floors were in the basement....but you can always buy some leveler if you need to adjust the height somewhere.

douglas on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 10:28 AM

There are four or five cracks in the basement, only one that's leaked, none are that thick, and I'm gonna have him patch them all up from the outside, which requires a shitload of digging that I don't feel like doing, just to be on the safe side. I'll probably go back and patch them up on the inside as well just to be even safer. There aren't any cracks on the floor and it's all pretty level already.

Bigworm on Friday, November 06, 2009 at 10:32 AM

How 'bout this name for a kid...Urban Shocker?

16. 1928 Yankees (101-53, .656, plus-209, swept World Series)
They scored nearly 100 fewer runs and allowed nearly 100 more than the '27 edition. In other words, they weren't as good, but they were still pretty awesome. They would have been even better if pitcher Urban Shocker (name at birth: Urbain Jacques Shockcor), who had won 18 games in 1927, hadn't contracted pneumonia and died in September. True story.

Wrecking Crew on Sunday, November 08, 2009 at 7:45 AM

What a fan-fucking-tastic morning! Why does nobody listen to what I say. First I get a call at 3AM about a "kiddo" (god I hate that fucking word) with a fracture that the ED wants to admit for me without having to go in. Sounds great except my attending would kick my ass and I disagree with them about the fracture, so I say I'll come in and see it. So my ass is up out of bed about to go see the kid when I get a call from the floor saying he's already there and they need orders. Then I get here this morning to find that a nurse only decided to follow some of the orders that she felt were neccessary. I guess they're only suggestions and not really orders. What the fuck? And to top it off there are no fucking spoons to eat my breakfast!!!

Brock on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 2:32 PM

No, you shouldn't complain about missing UofL football games this year. You should be thanking all of those conflicts from causing that vein in your forehead from bursting while watching Kragthorpe take a giant dump on the field every week.

Did I mention I hate Charlie Weis? That fat retard can't coach a respectable game with all that talent. Stop eating so many twinkies and read a playbook once in a while.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 3:32 PM

I'm very conflicted this year. UL and ND both have coaches who aren't getting the job done, and the only way to get rid of them is for them to lose. I'm not going to root against either team. Can you hope for close losses every game so the players can play well but the coach still gets the loss? I don't know about ND/Pitt this weekend either. I don't like cheering for conference rivals, but keeping the big east relevant is the only way UL has any future.

Phil on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 6:48 PM

better scenario for UC?

Getting waxed by Florida the in NC game
Playing TCU in the NC game and everyone for the rest of history naming them the worst NC ever because they didn't play a big name team
Not making the NC and beating a team like Georgia Tech

Louisville, if they would have made it, would have lucked out and play a very week OSU team that they could have hung with, and maybe even beat. But after last week's defensive showing, you gotta assume that UC can't score enough points to hang with UF.

Bigworm on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 8:51 PM

UF has too much defensive quickness. And by the NC game you figure Spikes will be 100%, and he anchors the defense.

Brock on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 12:53 AM

For this "poor defensive showing" you are referring to: you mean the kick return TD on the shanked punt, the freak long TD run when up 20 points, or the short field TD against a prevent defense?

The UConn game is very deceptive. They were up a ton all game and there were a series of crazy plays the let UConn get close. Prior to the game, the defense was allowing 12 pts a game. UConn was the only Big East lost UC took last year, so I have a feeling there was a little psychological effect.

Cincy actually matches up much better to Florida than Alabama, and they'll probably end up playing either one of them in the Sugar Bowl since they'll get hosed despite going undefeated.

Phil on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 1:19 AM

Side question:

who is better suited to give brock shit about delusions of a national championships? Louisville fans because we foolishly thought we'd have a chance, or UK fans because every year they talk themselves into this being the year that they beat UT or Florida?

I mean, Louisville fans had the same foolish aspirations so we probably know how to get to the heart of the matter the easiest. But UK fans have far more experiences at this than any of us.

It's a toss up.

Phil on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 1:25 AM

A Brendan's tux lunch sounds great, but I'll be driving straight from Louisville to Lexington after getting the tux.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 7:27 AM

That's what Phil was eluding too, taking care of business. Despite the capabilities UL always faltered and lost some BS game. UC is not going to have it easy against WVU or Pitt. (At least Pitt for sure.)

Bigworm on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 7:58 AM

Phil - The funny thing with us UK fans is we know eventually those damn streaks have to end (surely to God)....unless you're a Cubs fan of course.

So us UK fans have delusions of grandeur that we might actually beat those fuckers this year because if you say it every year, you will actually get it right and we can say "I told you so"....we just look irrational every year until that occurs. With that being said, this is the year UK takes down UT. :)

Bigworm on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 7:59 AM

I am afraid to say that UK will never beat UF with Urban Meyer at the helm. Our best chance was 2007 and our defense couldn't even throw themselves on the ground and let Tebow trip over them.

Bigworm on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 8:04 AM

So I am surprised nobody is talking about the three UT football players that robbed a store with a pellet gun.

http://loserswithsocks.com/2009/11/...tims-speak-out/

No need to question the victim's fanhood.

“I think they should still be able to play football, regardless,” he said. “Tennessee is my place. It’s my football team.”

“Even after they put a gun in your face, you say let them play football?” 6 News asked.

“Yeah, it’s Tennessee. That’s the way it is sometimes,” Zickefoose said.

FL is an accepted streak and I don't think the illusions of ending that one anytime soon are there, it's UT and now south carolina that are pissing off UK fans more than anything, b/c there have been a ton of times UK was thisclose to winning some of those. those are more winnable games, especially this year, they should've beaten s carolina, and they should beat UT, but typically when UK football should do something, it tends going the opposite direction.

douglas on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 11:45 AM

if he wanted to get back into coaching, i don't think the extension is worth the paper it's written on, just thought it was interesting. it's probably just a way for him to get rumors off his back by saying "hey i'm committed to espn, look i just signed an extension"

Bigworm on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 11:47 AM

I figured he' go NFL before NCAA.

Phil on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 11:47 AM

apparently the pro teams didn't want gruden wandering their facilities as the media if he was coming back to coach the NFL, so this was done to help ease those issues.

Bigworm on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 11:50 AM

I just don't see UofL paying more money than his combined cash from ESPN and the Bucs. According to that article, he get paid by the bucs as long as he doesn't get a coaching job (it didn't specify NFL vs. NCAA), however, if I was Gruden and wanted to go to NCAA I'd let Krags have a 3rd or 4th year even and come back and be the great savior of UofL football.

It was from some bullshit site that no one really trusts.

Doubtful he'd ever leave Texas Tech, especially for us. It's not a step up, and he loses his recruiting base. I don't think he even cares about money so it's not like Louisville could just throw cash at him.

i actually understand completely where krag is coming from if the above is true, he's just trying to protect his ass, and he really did get handed an absolute shitty situation that petrino left. what's funny is that i remember when he first got hired how jurich was going on and on about how great a friend he was and how he had already been UL's coach a couple times already before he formally got hired. i guess that's gone now

Phil on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:19 PM

Bigworm on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:19 PM

the thing is they just don't have the talent. He is a good coach, he really just doesn't have the personel. the problem though is he is losing fan support, you can't continue with the program when you are putting 22K fans in the stadium.

Bigworm on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:20 PM

joe on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:22 PM

Kragthorpe has had a different offensive and defensive coordinators each of the past 3 seasons. English is the only one that voluntarily left. The others he fired.

Bozich just mentioned the Jagedzenski name, that is why I brought it up.

Bigworm on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:22 PM

Rjqpagdzpqrenski is how I think it is spelled.

Bigworm on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:23 PM

English knew he didn't have the talent.

joe on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:26 PM

Can Kragthorpe explain the other 5 coordinators, to include himself?

Phil on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:27 PM

kragthorpe went 6-6 with a team return 19 of 22 starters from the Orange Bowl team. If you've watched the games, it's pretty clear the dude is out of his league.

Worm, no offense, but you know nothing about this. Ron English has publicly stated one of the reasons he left is that he had the talent, Kragthorpe didn't want to play them for some damn reason (case in point Chris Kampa).

There are also some very weird rumors about how Kragthorpe has been handling issues with players, and who gets playing time.

Bigworm on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:30 PM

Philco - You are right but man get your head out of your ass. I'll defend Kragthorpe to the end of time becaues he is the best thing that has ever happened to UK football. I Hope they sign his ass to a lifetime contract.

Phil on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:30 PM

ah, i like your style then

Brock on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:35 PM

I'll have to argue that Kragthorpe has been better for Cincinnati than for UK.

Phil on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 3:36 PM

the math for Belichick's call last night

With 2:00 left and the Colts with only one timeout, a successful conversion wins the game for all practical purposes. A 4th and 2 conversion would be successful 60% of the time. Historically, in a situation with 2:00 left and needing a TD to either win or tie, teams get the TD 53% of the time from that field position. The total WP for the 4th down conversion attempt would therefore be:

(0.60 * 1) + (0.40 * (1-0.53)) = 0.79 WP [win probability]

A punt from the 28 typically nets 38 yards, starting the Colts at their own 34. Teams historically get the TD 30% of the time in that situation. So the punt gives the Pats about a 0.70 WP.

joe on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 8:02 AM

Why is Harrelson still on the team? From what I have seen UK looks to have a great 6 man rotation and then you have remnants from Billy G scratching their heads.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 8:14 AM

Yeah to get 0 production from your seniors makes you wonder why they were ever here to begin with.

John Cal after the game at his press conference said we basically have a bunch of freshman and sophomores and Patterson. That has never been so telling.

douglas on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 8:16 AM

miami shot out of their minds, virtually every one of their threes was contested. if you force the other team to take contested threes then you're doing your job, so i can't fault their defense. wall and bledsoe both looked extremely sloppy at time running the offense, but goddamn when they ran it the right way it was pretty.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 8:17 AM

Miami had a great game plan from my seats, let Wall and Bledsoe penetrate and body check them with three guys. I think the only that that bothered me is that during the Miami run to get a 36-18 lead, I watched Wall and Bledsoe basically do the same thing 4 or 5 straight times...penetrate in the middle, get body checked, lose the ball.

douglas on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 8:27 AM

at the very beginning wall was drawing fouls every time he did that, miami finally stopped fouling and that's when they started turning the ball over a lot. i'm actually happy about the game last night, the past couple years, there's no way UK comes back and wins after being down 18 against a pretty decent miami team. this year, a bunch of freshmen and patterson drop the hammer and pull out a win in their second game of the season while playing a pretty ugly game for the most part. when it starts coming together....

joe on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 8:34 AM

They shot better from the 3 (6 for 11), but the free throw stripe was still ugly (56%).

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 8:41 AM

Douglas I am happy with the win no doubt. Miami played the game of their life and lost. You are right, with Billy G we lose by 20 and then we have to listen how we were out toughed and whipped.

douglas on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 8:51 AM

free throws were ugly, i imagine that won't be too much of an ongoing problem

joe on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:00 AM

Calipari alway has bad free throw shooting teams though and he always plays it off in the media as a non-issue until is shoots him in the foot in the big games.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:29 AM

Brock - Cinci just lost 4-star TE commit Alex Smith, he said it was time for them to part ways. Has it been confirmed that Brian Kelly is the next pope yet?

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:30 AM

Joe - we played in the NIT last year. If we lose in the NC game I am happy.

Shit if Nazr hit a damn FT in 1997 UK wins back to back to back.

douglas on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:37 AM

If DA didn't go down with a knee injury that year we 3-peat with a vengeance

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:38 AM

Even without DA, if Nazr scores a single point from the FT line we win.

joe on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:43 AM

If you shoot 50-60% from the free throw line in the NC game and lose you will not be happy. I thought the banner was already hanging in Rupp this year with an undefeated season according to John Wall in the preseason. I was just pointing out the importance of free throw shooting as a person that watches too much college basketball. Sosa scored 31 points against ACIE LAW and BCG in the NCAA tournament but missed free throws to lose the game and that is all we remember.

douglas on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:53 AM

he said those were his goals, never said they'd do it, a lot of people strive for that. and technically the banner's not hanging yet, they're still stitching it together, it should go up sometime around january after we've already beaten uconn, unc, and louisville. and i kinda wish UL won that game, b/c we probably would not have ended up with gillispie, but we got cal and our next championship already so it ended up alright

joe on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:55 AM

Dan Patrick just said, "Isn't it a little early to have to go to John Wall to save you."

joe on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:56 AM

Courier Journal did a good job of molding his words to not sound much like goals.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:48 AM

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:49 AM

There is UK and then the field for the championship.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:52 AM

Oh did anybody see UCLA lose to CS Fullerton?

Brock on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:54 AM

Not worried about losing a TE. I was surprised he even committed in the first place. The spread offense doesn't use the TE that much.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:02 AM

Yeah I'd be more worried about losing my coach than the TE.

douglas on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:46 AM

wall didn't save them, he won the game in regulation, miami just tied the game, so technically it wasn't a save, if he missed they just go to overtime. and it's not too early anyway for the guy who would've been a top two pick in the last NBA draft to save you

Citing the allure of the bigger stall, the fact that the duration of the average crap is much shorter than that of when you park, and also the complete lack of handicapped people in the office. Please help us settle this.

--------------------------

Your coworker is WRONG. It's not fucking illegal to use a handicapped stall if you aren't handicapped, is it? They won't tow you away mid-shit if you use it, right? CHECK AND FUCKING MATE.

I like the handicapped stall. The toilet's higher. Better for my back.

joe on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 3:06 PM

The iToilet is from Curb your Enthusiasm, they are doing a Seinfeld reunion show and apparently George made millions only to lose it all to Bernie Madoff.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 3:44 PM

He already had the reporters eating out of his hands by that question, he had fun with it.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 3:46 PM

Atleast according to Matt Jones.

Bigworm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 4:08 PM

Here's the comment from Jones' site.

— The star of the show off the court tonight was Miami Coach Charlie Coles, who gave the best press conference performance I have ever seen in Rupp. I admit that I have loved Coles for a long time, but tonight he was in rare form. In his mock turtleneck and dressed dapper, Coles set down and proceeded to have the media eating out of his hand. He talked of his reverence for the Big Blue and how great it is to “have a player so hot, the Big Blue go ‘oh noooo’ when he shoots.” But the highlight was when Dick Gabriel asked him “how did the game get away from you.” Coles then shook his head and said, “I cant believe you asked that. Why dont you ask John why it was so close.” He laughed and said, “They are the Big Blue…where have you been?” And he continued to shake his head at the question, saying “Oh my lord…where are you from?” It was all in good spirit, but it was hilarious nonetheless and my hope is that a video of the exchange shows up online some time soon.

UPDATE: Here is the audio of the Coles presser from the Herald Leader’s site. It is brilliant….THIS IS A MUST LISTEN….TRUST ME, YOU WANT TO LISTEN.

joe on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 4:15 PM

Rick Bozich was talking about it too. His description was it made him lose his popcorn.

joe on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 3:16 PM

Radio today:

"If the UL-UK game were this month UL would win." Also, if UL beats UK they think Rick Pitino should go Bud Adams on Rupp Arena.

joe on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 3:23 PM

Rick Bozich opinion, that game made me want a Reese's cup.

Phil on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 3:27 PM

people do realize that arkansas was missing half their team, right? they had a dude from their fucking golf team playing for them.

little early to crown louisville's asses

joe on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 3:36 PM

UL did not look that good. Main thing I learned watching the game was that a gang rape is not a team building activity, it is actually detrimental to the team and makes the 3rd string QB and a golfer play for you. Also, Bozich pointed out the big east is 29-0 on the season. UL will rely on the 3 all season and when they are off they will look horrible. There is no inside presence at all for UL.

So other then the 2 suspended for rape, I don't remember what the others were suspended for.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 3:45 PM

Agreed, Joe. Samuels is the next in a string of UL big men that play like pussies. Even though I didn't understand his math last night, Bob Knight nicely pointed out that Samuels couldn't finish a play worth shit. As for their offense, it was pretty typical UL, pass the ball around the perimeter with as little motion as possible, then jack up a three. For being the best shooter Pitino has ever seen, I still don't think I've seen Marra make a shot.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 3:46 PM

I think they said school code of conduct or team rules. The guys haven't even been found guilty of anything yet, have they?

joe on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 7:49 AM

Brian to the Bills? Or Jeff to the University?

Bigworm on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 9:44 AM

Soccer fans: US fell to Denmark 3-1 last night. However, we U.S. now awaits the draw on Dec. 4 in South Africa to find out their group opponents for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which you can follow on ESPN2 at 11 a.m. ET or via Drawtracker on ussoccer.com.

joe on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 9:48 AM

Last night didn't matter did it? It was only a friendly. From the way it sounds the US will be lucky to get out of their pool. Then again it is soccer so who cares?

douglas on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 9:54 AM

ditto

Bigworm on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 10:49 AM

Yeah last night was a friendly. US is only one of 5 teams to finish the season playing 2 other World Cup teams. I think we lost them both, but whatever.

I think soccer fans got excited because we beat Spain but then lost to Brazil 3-2 (if I recall correctly, US had a 2-0 first half lead on Brazil) in the Confederations Cup Final. Spain was the favorite to win.

World Cup soccer is my favorite type of soccer to watch. You can get some pretty decent MLS matches or some Premier League soccer matches but my favorite is world team soccer matches.

Golf sucks, but they make it fun with the Ryder Cup. But then again I'd watch anything where it is the USA vs. World.

douglas on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11:04 AM

brian brohm did sign with the bills by the way according to the milwaukee newspaper. shitty team, but a good opportunity for him to play, their QBs now suck ass

Phil on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11:55 AM

the good thing about Brohm going to Buffalo is that the Bills will be putting him on the roster - not the practice squad.

The bad thing is that we don't have a LT (hopefully someone in the Bills organization will watch the Blind Side and realize the importance of that position) and a couple of rookies on the OL. Not really setting anyone up to succeed in that environment.

Brent on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:05 PM

EPL soccer is usually better than WC soccer due to the players practice together and have better chemistry but when you compete National Pride vs. Team Pride, NP wins every time.

Phil on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:16 PM

if you like watching soccer, the EPL stuff excellent soccer. I've woken up hungover and watched quite a few matches this year. They play good soccer.

Now, getting drunk at molly's and randomly hating a country? That shit's just fun. WC wins out. USA! USA! USA!

Bigworm on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:26 PM

I liked this.

"Three-fourths of the world is covered by water. The rest is covered by Chuck Hayes."
-- Shane Battier, to the Houston Chronicle, on the faith the Rockets have in Hayes' defense.

His other statement you can't argue either because it starts "Now, getting drunk at..."

Bigworm on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:43 PM

Philco is a mastermind.

joe on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:46 PM

2 good radio commercials on ESPN radio on under age drinking.

1st one is a mother daughter conversation and it is basically saying alcohol impairs your judgement and you will do things you will regret later, in other words sleep with Phil. It sounds like she is saying I drunkenly got knocked up and had you and I don’t want you to do the same because I am not raising any grandkids.

2nd one is the father son conversation which goes why did you do it? I did it because we didn’t know better. You may think you can control yourself but you can’t. In other words I have no real reason why you shouldn’t because when I was your age I was always drunk and rocked out but if you do I won’t bail you out of jail.

It sounds a lot better being a guy based on these commercials.

joe on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:47 PM

Uncalled for cheap shot Phil, my apologies.

Bigworm on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:51 PM
