Bambi Walk.

A friendly reminder that tonight (Friday the 23rd) at 7:15ish the Bambi Walk gets under way. Who's all there? Lynnie's crew, a bunch of Dutch hockey players, and some people from my sunday team. Good times.

Late start for a Bambi walk

Phil on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12:04 PM

Indeed. I don't have a lot of hope for this one making it to Bardstown Rd.

Dom, Shannon and Steph are now also in. We may be looking at a group of 30. FANTASTIC

joe on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12:23 PM

Is this an extreme endurance challenge doing the Bambi walk in 100 degree weather?

Phil on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12:24 PM

I was watching Louie last night, and he met some chick was into older guys. So they are hooking up and she starts yelling at him to talk dirty to her by saying how old is his. So he's saying shit like "I was born in 1967. I remember when you could smoke on planes."

But I lost it when he said "I'm older than every Major League baseball player besides Jamie Moyer who I hear is still in the Phillies rotation" and she goes "OH GOD YOU ARE SO FUCKING OLD YEEEEEEEEEEEES!"

Best sex talk line ever.

I was also drunk

Phil on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12:24 PM

Sweet action, Ross is in for the Bambi Walk. It's getting LARGER!

douglas on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12:48 PM

anyone doing hullabalou this weekend? my sister actually called me last night w/ a free ticket to bon jovi tonight

joe on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12:58 PM

Wasn't planning to go. Actually seems like it will be quite miserable.

douglas on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 1:05 PM

after getting back from lunch and realizing how fucking hot it is you might be right, but i'm not going 'til tonight, I'm not doing the all day thing, and bon jovi doesn't come on 'til 9:30, so hopefully it won't be too bad

joe on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 1:48 PM

Hullabalou will be great people watching, trash and half naked chicks (most will be both).

douglas on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 2:15 PM

i'm going without the wife so i hope so

Brock on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 5:50 PM

I sense that Joe is making excuses for all plans tonight in order to sit on his couch.

I, on the other hand, will be making a trip to Bed, Bath, and Beyond... maybe over to Home Depot, and if we have time, maybe the fabric shop.

In actuality, I'm going to haul the 500 lbs of change I found in Phil's car to the bank and put a down payment on a house. If only they took KFC receipts, I could retire.

joe on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 6:23 PM

I have been productive: oil change and liquor barn.

Wrecking Crew on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 9:54 AM

I fell asleep watching the Reds win. At least, I think they won. God we suck. Of course I will be getting black out drunk with Joanna's family today. Productive weekend.

Bigworm on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:11 AM

Sounds more fun than my weekend of studying pharmaceutics.

Phil on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 12:26 PM

I drank enough for everyone last night, don't worry.

joe on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 2:02 PM

strong work.

Brock on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 5:51 PM

Brewfest next weekend. Oh, the glory!

douglas on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 8:10 AM

i guess sundays don't count towards perfect days

joe on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 9:14 AM

Drinking is still fun, but hard to come back from. I wasn't even hungover yesterday, but it is taking 2 days to recover.

adrian on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 9:17 AM

I cooked like a lobster from being at the lake over the weekend

joe on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 9:23 AM

I still have your chairs and sunglasses from 4th of July. I also have I think Jay's bag of stuff and a random lid to a container.

Brock on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:08 AM

So how did the Bambi walk finish?

Phil on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:50 AM

Not 100% sure on the end. Definitely made it to Molly's, but I think I ended up wandering off and buying pizza.

My buddy Ken has a voice mail from the Dutch guys we were with that says "KEN WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU TO COME JOIN US FOR OUR WALK TO THE RIVER!" so who knows if those guys are alive

Brock on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 3:16 PM

Sounds like you all were on a mission. Did you just have a drink at each place and move on quickly? Do you know which ones you did hit?

I need these details for the record books.

Phil on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 3:23 PM

Well the obvious problem with details is that I clearly blacked out somewhere around Bearnos / Tony Bombozz.

But we had a set of dutch engineers leading the charge with a print out so we hit everything on the "official bambi walk t-shirt", plus a few extra like Za's. I was for a while pretty good about just getting something like a Miller Lite but soon I found myself finishing girls beers for them which then led to me wanting better beer which then led me to ordering 23oz beers which then led to time traveling to my bed the next morning.

I'm told that night caused more than a few "I hate Phil Scott" posts on facebook, so I got that going for me, which is also a good sign.

joe on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 3:57 PM

The only one I saw was from Shannon.

joe on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 3:59 PM

Of Shannon and Dom, not that another shannon didn't have that as their wall post.

douglas on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 3:59 PM

not babymama i hope, i know my sister spotted her at molly's

Phil on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 4:23 PM

Ah, Shannon should hate me.

Is anyone running in the Alumni Race on August 12th?

joe on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 7:04 PM

Crossed my mind if I can run.

joe on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 7:56 AM

I have done 6 of the past 9 since I graduated. I missed one because it was a saturday morning and a full 5k and I missed one to drink with Cuban at a Bat's game and I didn't run last year for some reason. If my back will hold up I think I will give it a shot and die. I haven't done much exercise in the past couple months. Moving the run to Tom Sawyer Park really pissed me off.

Phil on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 8:49 AM

So is it back to being a 2 miler? I think I could gut that bitch out.

Granted my legs feel like absolute jello right now after my 5 mile walk on Saturday and hockey on Sunday and Monday, so clearly I'm a bitch so who knows.

joe on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 9:03 AM

They have messed with the distances every year. They shortened it one year due to the heat and then they shortened it one year because of an archery tournament on the course. I thought they shouldn't have altered the course that year.

I like what they say about the A's hats.

Adopted by: Almighty Ambrose Nation (Chicago), Orchestra Albany (Chicago), Spanish Cobras (Chicago)
Why: The Ambrose and the Albany share the same first letter as the Athletics, while the Spanish Cobras rock the green A's caps to represent their primary color.
Complex says: Three gangs from the same city rockin' the same hats? Shit must've gotten real dicey in those shootouts.

Going to a family wedding Saturday. My cousin just graduated from UL in May and her husband will graduate in a year. They are part of the yea Jesus side of the family that has rocked t-shirts with fetuses as an anti-abortion fashion statement before they could walk. My mom was telling me that reception is a school gym with no DJ but an IPod hooked up to something, and the toast is not to alcohol but to milkshakes. However, there are 2 kegs. Her mom asked my mom if 2 kegs is too much beer for the beer drinkers. My mom laughed and said does she expect most of us to quit at 2 beers? Should be an epic wedding.

well not redoing it, just painting the cabinets and replacing the hardware (hinges and handles). sarah and i are pretty much on lockdown regarding anything that costs money right now until all this trial bullshit is over. we've been wanting to do it, we had the paint, just got new handles and that's it. it's not hard, just tedious as hell. painting walls is a lot faster b/c you just use a roller, a lot bigger pain in the ass doing cabinets

I don't understand peoples use of the thermostat. If it gets hotter outside you don't have to make it colder inside, the same temperature will suffice that you have left it on all summer. It gets hot so you wear short sleeves to work so the office cranks it down to freezing. They do the opposite in the winter. So basically in the winter dress for summer and summer dress for winter. Logic at its finest.

St. Matthews was originally called Gilman's Point, named after the bar that was located there. It used to be a major center for cockfighting, and was once "The Potato Capital of the World"

Weird dream of the night.

So we all went on some sort of road trip for some reason (adrian's bachelor party?). Anyways we are getting hammered at some bar where we meet some ladies. And because this is a dream, I'm not creepy and awkward so I hit it off with some chick. Well I go back to her hotel room to do the do with her. But I gotta first leave my bag of stuff in my hotel room. So I go to that hotel room, drop it off, and head back to her place.

So I sneak off the next morning, go back to my hotel room and I'm peeing when in walks this 5 year old black kid.

I'm in the wrong hotel room. So I get out of there quick before I'm found out. Problem - all my stuff is now in some strangers hotel room.

Then I woke up.

Philco,

Create a web service that will return the last 20 comments of the most current post in descending order. I will need other functionality but need to stRt out with the basics when using objective C

I need to work on grabbing the results and displaying them for starters

Phil on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 2:52 PM

I was going to redo the site in MVC. I was also going to expose three methods in a web service:

GetRecentComments(int numberOfComments)
That would return the most recent comments

GetPreviousComments(int startingComment, int numberOfComments)
That would return the previous comments from a given comment's id so you could have like a "Previous 20 Comments" button.

AddComment(string commentText, string userName, string password)
Adds a comment (duh)

Brock on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 3:19 PM

We could discuss how fucking awesome the Reds game was last night. Down 4 in the 8th and they score 4 in the 8th to tie and 4 in the 9th to just piss all over the D-backs rug.

Seriously, after Brandon Phillips hit that double in the 9th, I fully expected him just just take a leak right there on second base while waving to the fans pouring out of the stadium.

Granted this was Arizona, who sucks, but a 3 game lead this late in the season makes anyone giddy.

Shit! I didn't even realize the Cumberland River was flooding. I don't think its anything serious. We just had several days of rain off and on, so apparently they have to let some out of the damn up-river and its making the river higher than normal.

I was debating with my cousin at the game last night about him bring his 3 kids to the game and who is at fault when I spill beer on them. I'm carrying a beer for myself and bringing one to my dad and his 3 kids are running around aimlessly and bump into me and I do the raise the beers while doing a 360 beer spill to spill in every direction but on them. At a past game I was lectured for my language when they were there. I feel that bringing your kid to thirsty thursday is your own risk and I shouldn't have to be responsible for my own actions. joe on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 9:07 AM

I was picked up to go back to playing softball yesterday to avoid a forfeit so I was stuck at first base as I am not as graceful moving as I once was and was avoiding more injury. I will say, as long as no lefty pulls a missle right at you, first base is the way to go. It isn't far from the dugout and you just hang out.

Also, never put Chris at shortstop.

i played second base over the weekend and it was a refreshing change of pace from the usual shortstop / 3rd base i'm usually playing in softball

joe on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:18 AM

Hartline or Froman? Which QB will screw up and lose the game?

douglas on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:41 AM

hartline's 2-0 vs. UL teams that were better than this year's, so I'd put my money on him to win

joe on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:47 AM

Do you want Hartline as your QB this season? Hartline did win last year, but he really didnt help their cause much. Is he the best QB to manage this team? I think Froman will try to be Elway and Favre rolled into one and take of and throw a dumb interception or 2 or try and scramble for an extra yard or 2 and get lit up and fumble.

douglas on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:57 AM

at the beginning of the season i try not to hold opinions of QBs, he's obviously the most experienced and was doing reasonably well before he got injured. plus you never know how well he's developed in the offseason. that said, i do think he's on a relatively short leash this year. newton proved he could manage games last year as a freshman, especially against tough competition. but they kept the play calling extremely conservative for him so who knows what he can do. as long as they win i don't give a fuck

douglas on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:58 AM

and i know absolutely nothing about UL's quarterback situation so I won't even try to offer an opinion on whether froman will be good or not

joe on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:06 AM

Whoever UK's 3rd string guy is will transfer.

joe on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:07 AM

UL's best QB Will Stein isn't allowed to play because he is too short. All I have heard is that if he was over 6 feet tall he would be a D-I starter. Burke and Froman both suck I believe.

douglas on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:08 AM

ryan mossakowski. what's interesting is he named hartline the starter, but didn't name a 2nd string officially, so technically newton and moss are even. i think he's trying to avoid that scenario becoming a reality. newton was forced to step in last year b/c moss was hurt and redshirting, but moss is supposed to be every bit as good as newton with a cannon, more of a traditional pocket passer, while newton's more of a runner/playmaker. i think most people prefer newton b/c they've never seen moss yet

douglas on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:09 AM

wasn't burke the QB last year?

joe on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:18 AM

Froman was going to start but was hurt in the preseason, so Burke started at the beginning of the season and got hurt so Stein came in for a game then Froman came back and finished the season.

Bigworm on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 4:10 PM

I am guessing UK will exploit UofLs smalllish defensive line and go with a running game. With Hartline under center, we know we won't see a pass more than 15 yards down field.

Best story of the day:
I was at lunch and lady at work started commenting on personal things about my family. Other people thought it was strange, not knowing my grandpa worked at the VA and she is old enough to work with him. In filling them in of this information she gets personal and starts calling my grandpa mean. I question that and apparently she is still holding a grudge from 20 something years ago when my grandpa made her cry at work.

Therefore, it is family tradition to make women cry.

douglas on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 1:18 PM

the appropriate response probably would've been that i'm sure he had good reason to make you cry

Phil, Bob Valvano just came on the Early Birds and starting taking cheap shots at Drew Diener's hockey skills.

douglas on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 9:30 AM

to answer your question, amazing athletic accomplishment. i haven't played ball in six years now and i wouldn't be competing well in college, much less AA professional ball. also considering everyone was gunning for him and he's freaking 6'6" or something with a huge strike zone, he also finished 3rd on the team in RBIs too

oh, and robert sullie and justin coleman are ineligible for UL this year, it's gonna be ugly

joe on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 12:55 PM

Rick was on the radio this morning commenting on it. When asked why Sallie was ineligible he said "I think he never graduated and got a degree from Memphis." He said Kuric or Swopshire will take the positions of left by those 2.

Rick went on to say he wants this years style to be like the 96 championship team, then laughed saying there is no where near that talent level, but I want us to have the 7 passes in 7 seconds that that team did. He then added you know, our 13th man on this roster is not Nazr Mohammed who is still in the NBA.

Phil on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 12:57 PM

Coleman was no surprise - Sallie was brought in to help fill that void. I wonder if Sallie just couldn't pass the GRE or whatever. The whole thing seemed like a hail mary from the onset so I'm not shocked it blew up.

On the plus side - it's Kyle Kuric time!

joe on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 1:08 PM

The plan is to lock Kuric in a room with the Syracuse game on make him watch it over an dover. Pitino said he hopes Kuric wins the job because he has the athletic edge and speed over swopshire.

douglas on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 2:36 PM

joe on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 9:11 AM

$200-250?

douglas on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 9:51 AM

i actually just called and they said $310. maybe they raised it. sarah's aunt called us yesterday, her father in law died earlier this summer and they're about to take a bunch of stuff to an estate sale, but they're trying to offload a bunch of it to family and friends, including a two year old pool table that's been barely used that's apparently pretty nice. i'm trying not to spend money right now but it sounds like we can get a steal on it

joe on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 9:54 AM

I hadn't moved a pool table in a few years so $310 sounds reasonable. You can typically refelt it then too if it needs it or you want a different color.

douglas on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 10:03 AM

i don't know what it looks like, but his widow told sarah it's apparently a really nice table that the dude took good care of. if we can play the poor family member connection and get it for a few hundred bucks, plus the cost of moving it, it will beat the hell out of paying a couple grand for a new one

In 2006, film student Alex Kralie began work on his first feature-length film. Titled Marble Hornets, it was about a guy returning to his childhood home after a lengthy absence. Kralie and his friends were rather excited about working on it.

After two months of on-and-off shooting, Kralie suddenly canceled the project, claiming it to be due to "unworkable conditions".

Jay, his friend, asked him what he was going to do with the tapes. Kralie replied flatly:

"Burn them."

After much arm-twisting, Jay persuaded Kralie to at least give him the tapes, to which Kralie agreed under the condition that they were never mentioned to him again. Kralie transferred to an out-of-state school, never speaking to Jay or anyone else again.

Jay, spooked by Kralie's comments, filed the tapes away and forgot about them. Until July 2009.

While reading a thread on Something Awful about The Slender Man Mythos, Jay was reminded of the tapes and inspired to look through them. He promised in the Something Awful thread to post any interesting things from them to YouTube.

He sat down and started watching the hundreds of unmarked tapes. There was some scary shit in there.

Jay started a Twitter page to chronicle his findings. Since Entry #9, he's noted a guy named 'totheark' responding to each entry.

Here are the videos

Actually, to play D, in a 'no check' ligue, is the toughest job on the ice. You can't use the normal tools of the defencemen (to hit guys). My brother, was the toughest defencemen that I seen in my life, just guys were scared of him, he almost kill guys, on the ice or in the parking . He could not do it ! Anyone doing anything for the game tomorrow? Draft still on for tonight?

douglas on Friday, September 03, 2010 at 9:28 AM

instead of saying i got nothing, i'll just ask what you want to do. i have no interest in going to tailgate at a game i'm not attending. i'll come over with beer or something

joe on Friday, September 03, 2010 at 9:32 AM

I am emergency back up call for a ticket to the game if Joanna decides she doesn't want to go to the game. The weather is supposed to be nice so I am expecting her to go. At the same time I don't want to wait and not get the call and sit around by myself. If I don't go to the game I have no problem having people over.

Brock on Friday, September 03, 2010 at 10:18 AM

My cousin and her husband bought Tailgaters over by Papa John's. You could kill two birds with that. Tailgate with the folks going to the game and then stroll over to the restaurant to watch the game.

Just trying to promote family enterprise.

Brock on Friday, September 03, 2010 at 10:19 AM

Looks like I'll be lying around in oil-soaked sand on the beaches of Alabama during the game.

Brock on Friday, September 03, 2010 at 3:48 PM

Tailgaters should be pretty nice now. It was closed for years, but they reopened it back in May. Trying to spread the word.

Barry, thanks for cleaning up the beach for my arrival. I appreciate that.

It must be nice to have a job where you are trying to waste time as Friday expires instead of frantically wrapping up work so you aren't there until 8pm.
Yes, I'm bitter.

I think our plan for the draft is to find a WiFi hotspot along the road and draft mobile. That'll be interesting.

Buffalo Bills
* Strength: Buffalo is well-known for its friendly locals, its world-famous wings, and its proximity to beautiful Niagara Falls
* Weakness: Once again pretty much centers around the entire roster
* Player To Watch: Starting quarterback Trent Edwards. Wait, him again? God, these guys are so fucked
* Intangibles: The AFC East is, perhaps, the league's most talented division, making it the most respectable division to finish last in

Speaking of non-pharmacy school related stuff, Adrian needs a bachelor party and I am thinking on September 18th, the day after my finals. What do you guys think?

I asked him what he wanted to do and he gave me back nothing....so any ideas are welcomed. I am considering a paintball outing, thoughts?

joe on Tuesday, September 07, 2010 at 4:42 PM

Paintball was a fun and painful bachelor party for scroggin.

Jay on Tuesday, September 07, 2010 at 5:42 PM

joe on Wednesday, September 08, 2010 at 11:21 AM

The following weekend is Wes’ anniversary I think (I remember it is around Chris’ b-day because Wes can never come out and play for Chris’ b-day), chris may have a kid, it is his birthday and my dad’s birthday
I think we get a weekend off before we get into Douglas and B-mac’s b-days then Laura’s b-day and Brock and Michelle’s anniversary.
These lead into Adrian’s wedding and his and Jesse’s b-days and Jay’s wedding and Halloween.

What a shitty 2 months.

So Saturday, Paintball Asylum, 2:00?

I think it costs about $35 to play. They give you a gun, helmet, goggles and some ammo and a guide will take you out to the fields and you shoot each other till you run out of ammo. I recommend wearing long pants, long sleeves and gloves. I think Chris wants as early as possible due to a doctoring thing to do later that day. I picked 2:00 for as much in the middle as possible. Any earlier will make for an extremely long day for hitting up bars later. Adrian said he had to work on Sunday too because of some server thing. Thoughts, concerns?

There is a bar on every corner in Boston. You'll be fine.

Brock on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 9:39 AM

So Saturday is still a go? I'm trying to confirm whether its actually happening.

I was invited to the WKU-Indiana game in Bowling Green and a golf scramble in Louisville on Saturday, so this will tip the balance on which city I go to.

Thanks for taking the initiative Joe. So I am thinking Paintball around 2 or so, whatever works really. The big question is what do you guys want to do afterwards. Do you want to come back to my house and stay here a couple hours and eat and the such or go out somewhere and watch football all day long at a bar?

joe on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 12:23 PM

After paintball I am meeting up with b-mac and intern and some other people to go to Morton's, something that was planned back when he got married.

Phil on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 3:37 PM

The nice thing is that the website and the database are now full redundant with three internet connections coming in. It'll take some serious shit to bring down NattySci now.

Phil on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 4:54 PM

serious shit or me doing something stupid, i mean

joe on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 6:05 PM

On the waiting list for the Trek Marlin Gary Fisher Collection. Bicycle Sport posted the bike on their website and I went in and asked them about it and the guy working got way to excited talking about that bike. Late October is when they expect them in. Damn place got me excited with their website.

joe on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 6:46 PM

Paintball Saturday, 2:00 sounded reasonable and is negotiable. Paintball is open 10-7:

http://www.pbasylum.com/index.php

$35 covers everything.

Phil, wes, adrian, joe, lynnie, jay are in.
Brock is probably out due to a golf conflict.
Douglas out for a wedding.
May be able to recruit B-mac and Intern's brother.
Brody requesting more info.
Pending respsonses from Brent, Chris, Dino, B-mac.

Any other people we can think of? Adrian has another brother and Jesse has a brother I think. There is Adrian's work friend that is in the wedding. I don't have contact info for them.

Also, post paintball plans to come. If you have ideas let Wes know. Basically clean up, eat and "tittays" to quote Jay. I know I am splitting and going to meet back up later after dinner. Chris has a Dr. thing that day at some point. Brock is available not between the hours of 1-6.

Phil on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 6:46 PM

Brent is in africa.

joe on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 6:47 PM

Phil on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 6:51 PM

I know the problem. I will fix in the morning

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 8:37 PM

How long is the paintball thing going to last? What are the post plans? When are they going to staRT? People going home to scrub paint off themselves then meeting back up? Earlier would still work better for me, but I'll see.

Brock on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:52 PM

I may be available before 6, but I'm being generous with my estimate. If I'm done earlier, I'll be ready to rock.

joe on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 8:25 AM

Dino is in.

So what special function does the Boxee do that you normally don't have?

I'm confused on "watching free movies" online. Will this thing let me watch the pirated movies I download more efficiently?

Phil on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 3:56 PM

Half of the stuff the Boxee does my XBOX does already. But the XBOX is pretty particular about the movies it plays and shit like that. But the main reason I want it is that it integrates with the NHL package so I could stream those games

Brock on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 4:02 PM

...but you still have to purchase the sports package. You do that already with the cable or satellite service.

Phil on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 4:17 PM

I can't get that sports package with insight because they suck cock

joe on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 8:46 AM

Drew Deener is my favorite local radio guy. UK fans, quite calling into his radio show, you are just digging the hole deeper.

joe on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 9:25 AM

Phil, Hockey Patrick just called in to the Deener show. make fun of him for me. Ask him if he will teach you the life skills you never got and that you are also the victim and then call him an apologist. he also used a big word in "risque" behavior.

joe on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 9:44 AM

anyone watch "the league" on FX? Drew Deener just asked Kent Taylor, sports guy on local tv, if they are eskimo brothers.

You guys suck.

Phil on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 12:04 PM

She has a new show on TV with Joey Lawrence that comes on after Friday Night Lights and I was intrigued by her.

Brock on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 2:31 PM

We were having a discussion about the details of the "Cougar, Puma, Mountain Lion, Sabertooth" terminology, but there isn't a viable internet reference that distinguishes the age applied to each of these. Not even Urban Dictionary was specific, and in some cases very random (i.e "puma - A young woman typically in the age range of 20 to 32").

I'm pretty sure these terms do not apply at least until age 30. How can you be on the prowl at bars if you can't even legally drink?

I'm looking for an age range on each of them.

Jay on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 3:34 PM

I always considered it relative. A cougar is an older woman going after younger men. So a 25 year old going after an 18 year old is as much of a cougar as a 40 year old going after a 30 year old.

Brock on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 4:26 PM

Does than mean a Puma is just going after someone closer in age??

Using your example: A 25 y/o stalking 22 y/o prey

If there were a single term, I like your logic. However, since there are multiple categories, it seems like the age should be defined.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 4:38 PM

I thinkk there need to be definitive ages. Cougar is the older woman, lets say older than 40. Puma is a little younger, in her 30's. Both of which go after younger men. Don't know the mountain lion, saber tooth reference, but going with how the terms sound, I'd say they keep getting older 50's for mountain lion and 60's for sabertooth. Of course, with as old as we're getting now, can we really talk.

joe on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 5:34 PM

Crash Bandicoot (I am trying to brainwash a dog to answer to this) just peed on Pip's (owner named dog that hasn't been picked up yet) head. I had to say it made me laugh.

joe on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 7:07 AM

UK fans, just read the Bozich article and some of the comments readers added. The tennessee drought and Spurrier drought, how do you view those games? A reader stated that they can win 5 of 6 games that included auburn, tennessee and SC. figuring the history do you feel you can write that in?

Jay on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 7:53 AM

Phil, it was HPL.

joe on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 9:42 AM

HPL...Golden Nugget? Is there much difference in class? At least at the Nugget you can go next door and get a cheap hair cut.

douglas on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:09 AM

i don't see us beating spurrier / USC, they're just pretty damn good this year. Tenn, absolutely we can beat them, but we've been able to beat them five years in a row now and haven't done it, so who knows. can we? yes. should we? yes. will we? who the fuck knows. auburn's definitely do-able, as are ole miss and miss state, and vanderbilt should be a gimme. auburn / USC / georgia are all at home, and that 3 game stretch in a row will ultimately determine the success of the season, they're all 'winnable' games, but definitely not guaranteed. UK's success the last couple years has been in winning more of those games than in the past, what's been fucking them up are random losses to vandy and miss state in games they should've absolutely won. this year is pretty much like all UK teams of recent past, they could win 9, they could also win 6. if they win the games they're supposed to, it should be a 7 win season minimum, the ultimate success will be in stealing a few that aren't gimmes

douglas on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:32 AM

you gotta remember, last year, if UK beats Tenn, we're in at least the outback bowl, maybe the capital one, and finish second in the SEC East, and have a 9 win season, and that's with a stupid loss to USC also in a game UK dominated for 80%.

joe on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:37 AM

If rutgers misses a FG or UL doesnt kick to Devin Hester they have 2 potential undefeated seasons. Ifs and buts are nice.

douglas on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:41 AM

i was just trying to illustrate that we've been on the verge for several years now hoping to break over that 6-8 win hump, and i'm hoping to this year also, but it's one of those see it to believe type things. with uk football i try not to set the bar too high to avoid being disappointed

joe on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:46 AM

never fails they blow a game like florida, LSU or tennessee after hanging you on for 3 and a half quarters

douglas on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:58 AM

we've got a one game winning streak against LSU, but you're right about tenn/UF. i'm not under any delusion of beating florida, ain't gonna happen

douglas on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:35 AM

Wave 3 said the shooter of Covington was former UL baseball player Isaiah Howes who played at UL on the World Series team. Hasn't been arrested because he acted in self defense of his brother, the passenger in the car. I had heard this earlier in the day from a guy I work with who is friends with Howes.

Phil on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:07 PM

So I have an idea for an application. It is to combat procrastination - I call it anticrastination.

So it costs $5. When you click on it you tell it you want to focus for x amount of minutes. During these minutes it blocks you from visiting certain sites like espn.com, reddit, etc - all customizable of course.

One thing that I think would be nice is a "shame" option. I figure the downfall of one of these apps is accountability - there is no reason why I couldn't just close the app. But if you set it up so it had twitter or facebook integration and it shamed you when you quit early I think that would provide the kind of public humiliation that one requires to stay productive.

We guessed that there is at least 1 person in our office with a gun on them despite it being a federal offense. We also figured that of the 50% at least half of them are on some form of medication for a mental issue.

UL - ARkansas State game is only listed on ESPN 3 right now. Hockey Patrick called in to the Drew Deener show and said, "Drew, I have a Proxima at home, is that grounds for having a party?" He really called in talking about a projector for his computer.

Who are the coaches for the Blue White Cup? Pat is one of them per Drew.

Phil on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 12:49 AM

I was talking to a girl tonight and the conversation turned to fake love which of course turned to Chuckle Klosterman which turned to me looking his ass up on the internet. I've had worse excuses for posting the great paragraph ever written in the history of the written word:

Fake love is a very powerful thing. That girl who adored John Cusack once had the opportunity to spend a weekend with me in New York at the Waldorf-Astoria, but she elected to fly to Portland instead to see the first U.S. appearance by Coldplay, a British pop group whose success derives from their ability to write melodramatic alt-rock songs about fake love. It does not matter that Coldplay is absolutely the shittiest fucking band I've ever heard in my entire fucking life, or that they sound like a mediocre photocopy of Travis (who sound like a mediocre photocopy of Radiohead), or that their greatest fucking artistic achievement is a video where their blandly attractive frontman walks on a beach on a cloudy fucking afternoon. None of that matters. What matters is that Coldplay manufactures fake love as frenetically as the Ford fucking Motor Company manufactures Mustangs, and that's all this woman heard. "For you I bleed myself dry," sang their blockhead vocalist, brilliantly informing us that stars in the sky are, in fact, yellow. How am I going to compete with that shit? That sleepy-eyed bozo isn't even making sense. He's just pouring fabricated emotions over four gloomy guitar chords, and it ends up sounding like love. And what does that mean? It means she flies to fucking Portland to hear two hours of amateurish U.K. hyper-slop, and I sleep alone in a $270 hotel in Manhattan, and I hope Coldplay gets fucking dropped by fucking EMI and ends up like the Stone fucking Roses, who were actually a better fucking band, all things considered.

Guy at work was at the st. x - trinity soccer game and emailed me this:

so the trinity student section had a bunch of those vuvuzalas and a ball from the field was kicked into their student section. So they batted it around for a little bit and then tried to hit it back to the field...well about that time a St. X mom (she looked like a B*tch) walked in front of the student section carrying a drink and burger she just bought well the ball flies towards her hits her and she drops everything. She stands their for a sec and then proceeds to walk up into the student section and start to yell at the students and demanding someone go buy her new food. Well all the students aim their horns at her and just start to blow them at her. She got so flustered and started to try and yell louder and tried to grab one from a student to no avial and then she stomred off back to her section
Aberli (school disciplinarian) was sitting right next to the student section and saw the entire thing and did nothing haha

Phil, I'm calling you hypocritical on your previous post.

That link clearly points out that Cincinnati has a smoking ban in place. You of all people sympathize with such an ordinance.

When the ban was in its infancy, the city placed reporting numbers all over the place since none of the bars were actually enforcing the ban.

Thus, I'm sure 90% of the city has the complaint number on their phone. It would not be surprising if a bunch of drunk smart-alecs called the number when they saw the cigars (ahem, Phil).

I'm leaning more toward that explanation than the grumpy old person since the game was late and old people go to bed by 7pm.

So if Trinity and St. X are in the same district what poor sons of bitches end up with them? Those schools have to know they will never win district so they are just there for the masacre. And there's a good chance tie breakers will be decided by point totals, so one has to assume Trinity and X will have it in their best interest to absolutely massacre teams.

Very weird, but not surprising that the county schools would be for this.

joe on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 1:38 PM

This will be comical when Kanter is ruled eligible.

douglas on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 1:45 PM

he will be, he probably won't play til december or january though because they'll need to save face. it's honestly bigger than UK. NCAA wants elite talent, and this is the way to open the floodgates so to speak. if they bar kanter, no coaches will waste their time recruiting european kids that are interested in coming here. calipari took that chance and if he succeeds, it will actually help college ball in general. an influx of good talent from europe wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

Phil on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 1:54 PM

So you are saying the NCAA is fine with Euro players with contracts, agents and pro teams but don't want African players whose freshman year transcripts could not be verified?

douglas on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 2:05 PM

under 18 they're not allowed to sign contracts, kanter's never signed a contract

Phil on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 2:08 PM

uh huh.

I thought the previous KSR party line about Kanter was that his pro team was trying to get back at him because Kanter's agent was using UK to get him out of his contract?

The last loophole I heard was the under 18 thing, and that there are the magic documents his dad kept. If Dieng was coming here to run track and cross country it would be fine.

douglas on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 2:12 PM

and you're talking about the same NCAA that allowed derrick rose to play after signing off on his transcripts, he played, and then vacated his season after it was alleged someone else took his SAT. the same ncaa that paid an attorney 15k to investigate bledsoe's transcripts after he'd been cleared by both his high school and the NCAA itself to play just b/c a NY times reporter had an article saying he heard his grade got changed but had no proof. who the fuck knows why the NCAA does anything it does. it's a bullshit organization from top to bottom that wastes their time on taking heisman trophies from kids that left school 5 years ago instead of working to actually help kids get eligible. they don't do shit until somebody writes a negative article, they never do anything up front to stop any issues. i don't know anything about the dieng situation, but it's absurd for the ncaa to hold his eligibility if a freshman year transcripts (i'm assuming you mean HS freshman year) isn't verified if he completed high school. i'm guessing dieng will end up being allowed to play.

Phil on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 2:12 PM

Or if Dieng went to school in Alabama instead of Senegal

douglas on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 2:14 PM

jay bilas wrote an article about this a month or so ago that basically said if an individual school clears a kid to play there should be no issue w/ the NCAA b/c each school has different criteria. so if UL has verified dieng's status and they feel he's eligible to attend school there, then that should be the end of discussion.

douglas on Tuesday, October 05, 2010 at 2:18 PM

as for kanter's team in europe, they stand to pocket 4-5 mil if kanter gets drafted out of europe from whatever team that drafts him. they don't get shit if he plays for UK. so yes, they have an incentive to keep him from being ruled eligible, as well as any future kids that want to play ncaa ball here. but the ncaa has a lot to gain if they can get more, better players from europe to play ball here before they go pro. so they'll end up ruling him eligible but slapping like a 15 game suspension on him to show they're 'serious' about their eligibility requirements

The printer is also wireless. That was a blast to set up for them. I won't get that few hours back. I am jealous of their setup. Funny thing is they have no clue how to use any of it. My dad was trying to check his email and asked where the tab key was. My mom can't figure out the mouse on the laptop.

Arroyo's turn tomorrow. I didn't trust Volquez from the get go. Joe B and Denny on the radio today said that the Red's were throwing of and basically conceding to Halladay hoping ace Arroyo can match up better with oswalt

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, October 06, 2010 at 9:12 PM

that kinda makes sense. volquez only had like 12 starts this year and was never consistent. his era had dropped every month though. if you dont want to start a rookie, i thought cueto had been the "ace" all year. can you really throw off if you have to go against 3 pitchers capable of being #1 starters.

joe on Wednesday, October 06, 2010 at 9:16 PM

Joe B and Denny are also old and senile. joe B was comparing it to when he was a college tennis coach in Utah or some state for a small school and had to play against DI colorado. His tennis rambling was classic.

Don't talk about bench scoring. I left Matt Forte on the bench for LDT and he went off for 38 points.

I was having a good time last night watching Michelle yell at Tony Romo. At one point he had negative points b/c he got sacked like 5 times and has 2 INTs. Then he goes insane, throws over 400 yards and 3 TDs. My wife getting fired up over Fantasy Football was the capstone to one year of marriage.

We could have used a respectable Reds showing, but dinner at a bar with wings and $2 drafts certainly trumped over-priced Italian food and a snotty waiter.

When is Cobb leaving? Is he a junior? If Cobb stays and Newton steps in and it is another year under Joker, next year may be the last chance at a break through year for a while.

douglas on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:04 AM

he's a junior, newton will be a junior next year, but remember, mossakowski redshirted so he's a freshman, and UK's using two RBs sanders and russell, a freshman and sophomore, a lot this year to groom them to take over after locke, and have been doing pretty well, and their two TE's are both young too. UK's biggest problem is depth on defense, which won't be as much of a problem next year. so they should actually be better next year. problem is, the SEC won't be as down next year as it is this year, which is why a lot of people were hoping to get over the 'hump' this year

joe on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:11 AM

I don't mind UK being decent as long as UL is doing better (although I prefer they suck). It was nice when they both were going to respectablish bowls and the annual matchup was a good game on more then just a local stage.

douglas on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 3:53 PM

no, marisa miller was just hired as the nfl's spokesperson

douglas on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 3:53 PM

there will be an arena in probably five years or so

douglas on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 4:04 PM

the difference between a UK arena will be that most of it will be privately funded by the university athletic dept and donors, as opposed to having to go thru years of debate with the metro council for approval. at least i think that's what i remember hearing awhile back about it. i don't know how many times you've been to rupp, but the huge parking lot right next to rupp i think is where they're wanting to build it

Barry-the worst part is that it is difficult to get anywhere. You either have to drive through downtown, or drive around the outside of the city. It just takes forever to get around.

douglas on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:43 AM

the most complaints i hear about living in Lex is that it's a college town and everything is pretty much geared towards them. that's why i've seen a bunch of people try to stay in lex after graduating from UK and not like it at all

Phil on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 12:22 PM

Bloomington is a college town. Lexington is one big boring road after another littered with Applebees and strip malls.

I will say the area that the girl I was dating lived in was nice - it was right by the football stadium and the arboretum. But when we'd go out there was practically only 4 places worth going in the whole city.

joe on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 12:26 PM

Joanna always said it was designed shitty. Basically the town outgrew the way it was designed and there is no way to fix it.

Yeah the design is terrible, you have two roads to take you out of the city (Nicholasville or Richmond road) and then the express way isnt an expressway at all because half of it has been commercialized. Imagine taking the Watterson x-way then have stores, shops, and strip malls on half of it. If they had any sense, they would start building an express way around the city right now so when it does get bigger they would have some infrastructure in place.

Fires are not allowed because it is a red flag day due to winds and dry weather.

Phil on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:14 PM

I'm going to rub up against bridesmaids to help keep them warm.

Phil on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:15 PM

My sister and I went to spring street and were watching the Oregon game. She damn near lost it when I was telling her how Oregon calls in the plays with a poster board, and almost on cue they flashed this up there
http://www.mocksession.com/30fps/20...1-22-26-38.html

Marc on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:16 PM

You should be able to find some of that body armor just lying around, or display just a floor or two below us.

I think flasks should be allowed, if not then Lynnie would not have given them to us. And being the last married man, he knows what to do best. So flasks are a go.

Marc on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:18 PM

So I hope Cuban is giving a speech at the wedding about how his phone call as Adrian got them together. Or am I wrong?

joe on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:21 PM

Good times

joe on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:24 PM

over/under on amount of time into wedding till Jay passes out?

Phil on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:27 PM

We probably should keep Jay away from the ledge of the building

Marc on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:32 PM

apparently Jay and the groomsman have an itinerary set for every half hour from at least noon til 7:00. So the odds are high of Jay passing out.

By the way, Jay needs a kidney. Any takers?

Brent on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:33 PM

I would but I have to move that day.

Marc on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:34 PM

nice

Brent on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:35 PM

So is the reception outside too, im confused.

joe on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:39 PM

My statement was solely based on an adrian text. I am texting adrian for clarification.

joe on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:42 PM

reception is inside. Only the actual wedding is outside.

Phil on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:43 PM

So we are supposed to dress warmly for 65 degree weather? Does adrian think people are wearing fucking flip flops?

joe on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:44 PM

Is the wedding lasting longer then an hour?

Brent on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:50 PM

No tanktops apparently.

Brock on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 2:26 PM

Chris, this is when a top hat comes in handy, and a monocle.

I can't imagine the ceremony being more than 20-30 minutes. I would therefore recommend everyone bring parkas.

Phil on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 2:30 PM

this is how brent and I are showing up

joe on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 3:00 PM

that would be embarrassing to show up wearing the same thing as someone else. Also, I think there is too much white on that outfit Phil, wedding faux paux.

joe on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 3:01 PM

Suck it Brock, Dallas Clark out for the season.

douglas on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 3:06 PM

douglas on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 3:17 PM

We can discuss trades tonight. I'm loaded with RB's. I may even be willing to deal Carson Palmer!

douglas on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 10:46 AM

Anyone dead?

joe on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 12:06 PM

I left Phil, Brok and Michelle with a hobo on 8th street.

Brock on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:31 PM

We left Phil at home.... at Flanagan's.

Phil on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 4:09 PM

And I didn't die!

Brock on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 7:57 PM

Anything going on tonight? I'm without phone for the evening, but I do have internet access.

Brock on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 10:52 PM

The Schweitzers are making a run at the top spots in Fantasy Football.

My team is also the first to score 1,000 points this season.

Thanks Chris for destroying Joe. It was satisfying to see.

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 6:59 AM

I predicted that loss last Monday.

douglas on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 9:33 AM

i still got a chance, all i need is 92 points from roy williams and miles austin. sounds pretty reasonable to expect romo to throw for 7 TDs tonight right?

Jay on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:15 AM

Suck it bitches! I never passed out! By the way, Adrian and Jessie are going to love the well wishes from everyone.

Jay on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:19 AM

Also, happy big 3-0 to Gaydrian today.

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:29 AM

The person who fell victim to the parking garage it was on the website was Dino.

Brock on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 12:39 PM

Michelle would be pretty psyched if Romo thre for 7 TDs!

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 1:00 PM

Sorry I couldn't give you, michelle and Phil a ride Friday night. It seems like a bad idea to cruise from downtown to Flanigans with drunk people riding in the back of a pickup truck at 1 AM. Saturday morning Laura agreed that going home was the smart idea and not going to flannigans.

douglas on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 1:02 PM

since when do we do smart?

douglas on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 1:02 PM

stupid makes for much better stories

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 1:08 PM

I prefer whatever makes my own life easier.

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 1:13 PM

It was easier to go home then to go out for a half hour and have to carry someone home.

Phil on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 1:53 PM

I was going rogue. I would have left myself too.

douglas on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:11 PM

I just like to hear drunk stories. while you all partied at a wedding, i had six girls at my house for a party. i need to live vicariously thru others these days

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:13 PM

Sounds like a blast. phil did nearly poke my eye out going after the garter.

Phil on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:18 PM

It was like a fumble in football. Eye poking is all in the game, yo

douglas on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:21 PM

i'll never forget mike bush's first wedding, when he tossed the garter out, it landed on the ground, and about ten of us just sat there and stared at it

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:34 PM

did suzanne pop yet?

douglas on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:36 PM

i think we're like ten days from the due date or something. the poor kid's already got a sailor outfit, that kid's going to need me to run some serious intervention in his life

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 3:07 PM

Wow, a sailor? Does Mike not have any say?

douglas on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 3:30 PM

it was actually a gift from jen pitts, even sarah was laughing about how gay that was. and mike has softened a bit in his age so it's up to me to limit the preppiness

joe on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 3:50 PM

Mike already have a trust set up to send him to St. X?

joe on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 8:08 AM

Romo may have helped keep me in first by myself.

joe on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 8:31 AM

Weather looks like shit today.

douglas on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM

joe on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:02 AM

Sounds like it is going to be a bad one and is currently kncoking hte shit out of Indiana.

douglas on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:04 AM

i just see wind in the east end right now, but the radio's blowing up with warnings right now

joe on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:20 AM

tornado warning in floyd and clark co. indiana. Power outages in highlands. 2300 out in Jefferson county.

Phil on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11:59 AM

Looks like the nasty shit has passed me at home. Glad we didn't lose power. I still have like 25lbs of ground beef frozen

joe on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 12:23 PM

that was eventful

joe on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 12:28 PM

we just got an email that is our occupant emergency program plan. Good thing it was an afterthought.

Brent on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 1:08 PM

Brock, sent you a trade offer from the Thunderdome league, 3-4 in 8th place, time to make some changes...Also, league dues are due, $25.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 1:12 PM

apparently you can start a surgery with a tornado warning in effect. damn weather slowing down my day.

joe on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 1:18 PM

can or can't?

Brent on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 1:41 PM

I think it would be pretty funny if you walked into an OR and the surgeon, nurses and tech were taking cover underneath the patient.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 1:47 PM

sorry, supposed to be can't. still fucking waiting.

Phil on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 1:51 PM

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 6:02 PM

phil...or drunk

joe on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:03 PM

Trying to come up with an office appropriate halloween costume for friday. I have done scrubs and creepy halloween mask at Chase, and here I have done superman shirt under unbuttoned shirt and tie for clark kent and I have done plaid pants as a golfer and carried around a putter. I was trying to come up with a good one that is pretty simple. I was thinking potentially a gym teacher. track pants, polo tucked in, whistle with a dodgeball. If I was feeling brave wear a pair of baseball pants cut of as shorts with a polo tucked in and knee high socks as the gym coach with a dodgeball. I know there are better ideas out there.

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:04 PM

I'm wearing pumpkin shirt the rest of the week

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:07 PM

Btw, I'm still trying to figure out Chris' comment about me or drunk.

Mostly because the venn diagram for "Phil" and "Drunk" has a shit ton of overlap.

joe on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:11 PM

Dude riding in the passenger seat of a car with chick driving.

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:15 PM

Fuck. There ya go.

My brain couldn't even wrap itself around me being in the car with a girl by myself. Unless it was some female Senegalese cab driver, of course.

joe on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:18 PM

It wasn't implying you, it was in response to phil's post...or a drunk person using a female DD, aka Joanna driving chris.

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:21 PM

Gotcha. It's all coming together

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:37 PM

It's a sad day. I think I'm going to retire the same disposable razor I've been using for the past 5 months. It's been a good run, but it developed a nick in it that actually cut me today.

This time I'm going with the new Gillette blade and see how long I can make one of those bad boys last.

Brock on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 1:59 PM

You shave? I always thought you just used sandpaper to wear down the stubble.

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 2:06 PM

I only use the sandpaper for very special occasions

douglas on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 3:07 PM

i only shave like two or 3 times a week so i get my razors that last about that long too

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 3:10 PM

No shit? That's about my schedule too I never got the blades to last much longer than that until I started doing the weird wrist thing. Maybe I do need to start sandpapering my face more often...

douglas on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 3:18 PM

you probably get to experience this too, but my favorite thing is when i haven't shaved in 3 days and I'm wearing shorts and I see people after work and they ask if I had a day off or something

when i travel for work and have to wear suits, my coworkers are always amazed at how well i clean up

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 3:55 PM

Every time I dress up at work it is usually to go to a funeral. That doesn't stop the whole office from popping in "saying 'wow, you look good! What's the big occasion'"

joe on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 4:00 PM

If you dress up the joke here is "where's the job interview?" I go for the shave for real once a week and other times shave just the neck so it is the continuous "trying to grow a beard". It doesn't quite live up to the adrian scruff.

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 4:02 PM

In retrospect we should have all shown up with having shaved for four days. That would have been awesome.

Although with me shaving in the morning I probably looked like it anyways

Jay on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 4:02 PM

At my work, if you wear a suit, people just assume you have to testify.

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 4:04 PM

Ahem, "Without having shaved..."

joe on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 4:04 PM

On Phil's last statement about showing up with the scruff, I did mention doing the Goodloe dress up, untucked button up with a sweater over it. You think AJ rocks that look yet?

Phil on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 4:42 PM

Saw this on Drew Magary's twitter thingy: There are going to be so many Snookis this Halloween that I might dress as the guy that hit her and punch them all in the face

yeah, it wasn't a pretty game, in wall's defense, the wizards suck complete ass, he could've had double the number of assists he ended up with if his teammates hit easy shots

douglas on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 9:11 AM

he definitely needs to work on his shot though, they played off him a lot and dared him to shoot it, he had an awful fg%. once he gets that down and they start playing closer to him, he'll have more opportunities to drive past people

but could he deliver a roundhouse kick like norris, that's the question

Phil on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 12:08 PM

Hmmmm, not a lot of drunk thursday stories. Stayed out way too late on Wednesday because the waitress and bartender at Spring Street bribed me. There was some creepy guy that came by and they had to call the cops on him. So they said they'd buy my drinks if I stuck around because they felt safer with me there. How can you say no to that? In my drunk haze I felt like Vin Diesel.

Two stories from Thursday:
1) One of brent's brother's friends, dressed as a slutty cat, wanted me to meet her buddy, slutty nun. So I told her I had 17 years of Catholic school repression that I wanted to take out on her friend. Met her friend, who at that point was sitting with her boyfriend. Awkward

2) A high school sports team showed up and completely took over the bar. I'm talking 30 girls and their parents. And everyone on my team took off and I still had half a pitcher to kill so I went to hang out with turner because I figured if I sat by myself at the bar surrounded by high school girl then Chris Hansen would eventually show up.

So I'm talking to Turner about this situation and I refer to them as a volleyball team. And Turner says "If I know my girls high school sports, and I think I do, don't volleyball girls wear those tight shorts? These girls all have short skirts on. This is definitely a field hockey team." It's good to have a fellow creeper to bounce ideas off of in these situations

joe on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 12:23 PM

per the courier journal, last night was the field hockey state championship.

joe on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 12:24 PM
