that should read "Getting Bent Without a Tent but Potentially a Babysitter 2013. Embrace the excitement"

I'm not good with the internet

Brock on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 5:33 PM

Do we want to begin collecting some donations towards hiring Joe a clean-up crew for the next day - that's a lot of dirty diapers.

joe on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 5:45 PM

Laura planning food menu and real invitations. The plan was let her classy it up as much as she wants to start then the downstairs and later evening is full fledged natty sci debauchery. Do we just go natty sci with some close outsiders? I'm leaning towards shying away from too many strangers. Upstairs reserved for pack and plays and baby monitors. Douglas, bring fireworks back.

Phil on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 6:04 PM

Any plan that begins with classy it up and ends with fireworks sounds good to me

douglas on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 9:07 PM

I didn't want to break the silence was seeing how log the drought could go. I'm only bringing them back if Laura promises not to throw them back in my van

Natty Sci folks must get in in this Winter Warmer beerfest in Nashville next year. Amazing concoctions from respected breweries. Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel to name one.

Replacing a toilet fill valve is much easier than I expected. Didn't even use the instructions.

joe on Sunday, December 02, 2012 at 11:04 AM

At home depot I was in the plumbing section with a plumber who was there getting the same thing as me to replace a fill valve at BBC because a wedding ring fell down the toilet at 1 am. He broke the fill valve last night but found the ring.

Wrecking Crew on Sunday, December 02, 2012 at 12:22 PM

So wes may be right and rings can just slip off in the bathroom? Or is it more likely they both were doing something dumb.

joe on Sunday, December 02, 2012 at 12:28 PM

It was a woman.

Brock on Sunday, December 02, 2012 at 1:48 PM

Brock on Saturday, December 08, 2012 at 2:23 PM

Guess Texas Tech and Auburn are stepping stones for UC. Tubberville. WTF! Amazing.

Bigworm on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 9:24 AM

Brock - UK hired Tubberville's OC Neal Brown to be our OC. It will be interesting to see who he hires and what type of offense UC will run next year.

douglas on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 9:41 AM

that video is fantastic

Wrecking Crew on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:26 AM

Phil, how is the payout working for the sci league? Is the regular season champ or points leader getting something? Now that I am knocked out of the playoffs figured I would ask since I was top seed.

I fucking hate fantasy football. My best team gets knocked out in the first round, my worst team has a chance to upset Joe in the playoffs, and my third team was the leading scoring team and they won't make the playoffs

petrino rumor is that SEC had a "gentleman's agreement" not to hire him

Brent on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 1:25 PM

Vanderbilt and KY should have been exempt from that agreement. "You guys need any help you can get."

Brock on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 1:50 PM

Brent - I just hit the pop-up because I thought there was some emergency meeting for the Fantasy League.

Rachel is married to a former Army sergeant who does contract security for Oak Ridge.

Brock on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 1:55 PM

Wes - I'm not worried about Cincy's offense, Munchie is no longer ruining that machine. Its how bad-ass the defense will be when Tubberville installs an Auburn-style using top recruits he steals from Ohio State that I am interested to see.

The T-Tech offense was just carry-over from Leach, and not his style anyway.

Brent on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:23 PM

Sorry, I should have mentioned that your a** is going down in the finals...if you make it there!

Bigworm on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:29 PM

None of the presidents were going to allow Petrino to be hired after he royally fucked Arkansas.

Bigworm on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:30 PM

Chris Low reported that for ESPN a few days ago.

Bigworm on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:33 PM

Brock - Texas Tech's offense was a variant of the Air Raid under Mumme....but it used a lot more pistol formation. Neal Brown played at UK.

Brent on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:43 PM

How did he "royally fuck" Arkansas, by winning the Cotton bowl in 2012 while going 11-2 or by going to a BCS bowl in 2010? He's in Arkansas, how else is he supposed to act? When in Rome...

Brock on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:50 PM

Wes - exactly, he's a UK guy running the previous T-Tech offense. I don't think Tubberville was really interested in bringing that with him. The personnel at Cincy was built for the spread offense under Kelly and Jones beefed up the run option. There are plenty of athletes to make any potential OC happy.

Brent - Excellent point on Petrino. Note: WKU first 2 games in 2013 - Kentucky and Tennessee.

Bigworm on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 3:38 PM

Brent I think you just answered your own question. Look at Arkansas during his tenure versus now. No further explanation needed without getting into the whole morality issues.

Brent on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 4:06 PM

They didnt have to fire him.

Bigworm on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 6:22 PM

You're correct, but he didn't have to embezzle money either. I am pretty sure no SEC president would hire him because of the "embarrassment" he brought the university. Of course we will see how long this lasts.

Brent on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 7:10 PM

They could handled it internally. Its not like every SEC football/basketball program isnt breaking NCAA violations by providing revenue to the players and their families. Semantics. If you want to win, you look the other way.

Brock on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 8:14 AM

So I read this as you don't need to know how to swim to surf. Just have the ability to stand up.

Do I need to be able to swim?
Our lessons generally take place in water shallow enough that you can stand the entire time you are taking your lesson. However, should problems arise, you should be able to handle yourself in the water, and being able to swim is the most important thing you can know. It is recommended that you are able to swim before taking a surf lesson.

I don't know or care anyone's take on abortion, but I saw some people taking an Obama quote abut the future the children had that we're nvolved in the ct shooting and using it for an abortion stance saying "what about the thousands that die everyday?"

I find this kind of disturbing. Seems sick to use a tragedy to push your point on people. The gun control stuff too is like this, but actually is topical in this event.

It's like the people who push their christian beliefs on you and in doing so are so unchristian because you don't think or feel the same way as you at all times. I propose a rule of thumb: You can root for a school for which you never attended, but you cannot talk trash or gloat over a victory to a rival fan unless you hold a degree from said institution or, at minimum, took a class there. How much would this impact the fan base on Saturday?

Bigworm on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 1:42 AM

What if you went to the rival school and detest it so much that you can cheer for the other school?

joe on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 6:04 AM

Saturday would be impacted if you put in a went to college at all rule. And by This rule of thumb you propose Brock, Laura can shit talk but I can't. Seems stupid. I propose at least a one branch of family tree removed from the school to root for them. My dad is ul so I feel I can root for ul.

joe on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 6:09 AM

I flipped on the game last night and it was 16-3. Nice come back.

douglas on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 7:04 AM

Agreed. Damn near everyone in my family went to UK. If I didn't play ball chances are I would've ended up there too.

Brock on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 9:37 AM

I knew this would ruffle some feathers - hence my post.

Michelle suggested an amendment to the rule: If you are a season ticket holder, you have purchased your right to gloat.

The original intent of the rule was similar to the cliche: "If you don't vote, then you have no right to complain about the outcome."

Hence, if you never contributed to the university in a meaningful way (i.e. tuition, athletic department support - buying UK camo jean shorts or UofL fake chinstrap beards doesn't count), then you really haven't contributed to the team and the reward of gloating about performance.

Professional sports do not apply in this case, since the players are paid and are essentially entertainers. The athletic scholarships college athletes receive are largely supported by either tuition subsidies (the largest part of Cincinnati's budget comes from student fees) or by private contributions either explicit or implicit (season tickets).

I will root for UofL on Saturday, but will not rub a victory in the face of my brothers and father who actually attended UK (I will simply make the routine comment of Kentucky dodging UC on the schedule). Chip, on the other hand, will root for UofL and actively do some form of victory dance, although he is a graduate of Western KY and never attended UofL. The ulterior motive is getting him to get some form of productive degree from UofL for an actual career.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:22 AM

Brent, they release some information. From this article on deadspin, it looks like they have to release exactly who votes for who to come up with some of their conclusions. The article was kind of interesting. Nothing thrilling but a nice look at correlations between who votes for who. Plus, most of the writers have said who they voted for.

http://deadspin.com/5974546/a-vote-...ight":1478}

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:24 AM

And, I meant writers at ESPN.

I think the HOF voting needs some tweaking. There isn't a real reason why votes should change from year to year. Either your a HOF'er or you're not. It shouldn't depend on who's on the ballot with you.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:35 AM

Of the 569 voters who cast ballots, only 108 chose to reveal who they voted for. (Of course, many more discussed their selections in their own columns—194 of them, according to Baseball Think Factory's exit polling, making up about one-third of the electorate.)

Another deadspin article...http://deadspin.com/5974668/who-was...ight":1199}

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:42 AM

Personally, I don't exactly know where I stand on the issue. There are plenty of "cheater's" in the HOF already (spitballers, amphetamine users, etc), so that's an argument. I know records are tainted, but there haven't been that many positive tests to know who exactly was using. Plus basball created the problem by not policing it. It also punishes everybody from the era (bagwell and piazza) who has any suspicion of use whether it's warranted or not. So i tend to lean toward letting everybody in, but acknowledging the what was going on.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 12:01 PM

As part of the promotion in late May, the first 1,000 fans will get an empty bobblehead box, there will be a pretend kiss cam for fans to kiss their imaginary friends and there will be an imaginary food fight in the kids' area, as well as an air guitar contest.

From Matt Jones' site.

Alex Collins, the No. 13 wide receiver in America, signed his LOI for Arkansas this morning but there’s a complication keeping him from getting it to Coach Bielema at Arkansas. Collins’ mother snatched the signed letter and fled the the press conference, because she doesn’t want her son to leave home. Collins’ mother and the letter are nowhere to be found and Bielema can’t comment without having the signed LOI.

This has to be the craziest story of the day, and maybe ever.

Bigworm on Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at 12:50 AM

Harrow quit the team several times during the year. NC State fans warned Kentucky fans about him when he announced his transfer from there. We should have listened.

where you hearing that about harrow? i don't recall any bad stories from nc state people when he transferred

Phil on Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at 12:23 PM

Every comment by a kentucky fan about ware:
"Kentucky fans send their support. Unlike Louisville fans, who are classless. And just because Louisville fans didn't send support when Noel got hurt it won't prevent us from being classy. I mean, sure Mike Marra had the same injury as Noel and we didn't send support and maybe filled KSR with jokes about him being hurt (http://kentuckysportsradio.com/?p=119158) but that's not the point. The point is we are classy. And Louisville fans aren't. We have class and are better than Louisville fans so we send our support. KY > Louisville. Totally doing it because we have class and are better than Louisville. You don't see Louisville fans sending support like this, because they aren't as classy as us. If they were classy and great as Kentucky they would see that we are better. They are selfish and just care about Kentucky, but because we are classier we are sending support. Just doing it because we are good people who care about the players. You don't see the CJ doing anything like that because they hate Kentucky. And aren't as classy as us. But really this should all be about prayers being with Ware. And our incoming recruiting class which is totally the best ever and everyone is so jealous of us. Amen"

adrian on Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at 12:28 PM

Phil that is not a lot of comments. I mean come on. There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of UK fans. You posted maybe 50? you can do better than that. dig deeper

joe on Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at 6:58 PM

Guy at work was saying uk fans should root for ul to win because we rooted for uk last year. I told him he obviously isn't a ul fan if he rooted for uk to win. A uk fan said ul can win only to keep the trophy warm and in its home state for next year. The guy got angry and stormed off.

douglas on Tuesday, April 02, 2013 at 8:32 PM

That's fantastic. I will say I can't muster up the proper amount of loathing for UL this year. I think knowing that ULs title will be sandwiched between two of ours takes away some of the sting of watching them win.

Anyone now how to get a fancy phone without paying a billion dollars because i am not due an upgrade for a year and my eyes make a new phone essential? Opthamologist/occupational therapist said iPhone 5 best for blind people. Guy at Verizon was a dick and only would let us see a Samsung galaxy 3 even after telling him iPhone 5 is the recommended phone for blind people.

douglas on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 11:23 AM

from a personal standpoint i always preferred the iphone over droids. iphones are much more user friendly and easier to navigate. some people will argue droids do more and have more data and do some cooler shit, but for what you need you'll be happier w/ an iphone. as for the guy at verizon, i think they get paid more on galaxy sales than iphone sales. or he's just a dick and you shoulda slapped him. i'm sure someone at another verizon store would be happy to earn your commission

Blind problem I just incurred, doing yaRd work. Lines are as straight as I can get them. Weed eating edges is a train wreck. Something shot up and caughtt me in the nose. I feel like I am bleeding but I can't quite tell. Someone had warned me about bleeding and never knowing how bad you are bleeding.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:15 PM

I was thinking about that as I was cutting my yards this weekend, the yardwork thing, not the bleeding. But now that you mention it, it would be pretty hard to figure out how bad you're bleeding to.

Man arrested for overnight feast inside Mt. Washington ValuMarket

"The subject was also on camera going into the beer cave to get beer, which he drank while cooking and eating six steaks, shrimp, salad, deli cake and a gallon of tea," the report states. "The subject also got a carton of cigarettes and two lighters. Sometime during the events, the subject pooped in his pants and got a pair of Bullitt East underwear, along with a couple of t-shirts."

Any job that encourages you to dress like Stone Cold Steve Austin is a job you can tell a babe about while lookin' her in the eye, you guys.

No babe's ever gotten the lady basement tingles over some corncob tellin' her 'bout how he clicks keys and picks his nose all day at work.

A question regarding the baseball video Phil posted: Was the guy on 3rd screwed because the guy running from second had already touched 3rd, or can he go back to third as long as that 2nd base runner returns to 2nd? I assume he would be out for touching 3rd once the runner behind him had already touched the 3rd base.

joe on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 5:34 PM

Is bourbon and lays chips till you fall asleep ok on a Wednesday?

joe on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 5:35 PM

The 2nd runner can't pass te first runner and you can go as far back on te bases as long as you touch each base on your way back. Does that answer the question?

That wasa twist tie and not a chip. Gross.

4th year and I believe an intern using others DEA numbers to write prescriptions for oxycontin I hear

Phil on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 9:20 AM

it wasn't an intern, it was a resident. I think

http://www.courier-journal.com/proa...agerestricted=1

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 10:51 AM

That doesnt sound too bad. 1st year residents don't have a DEA number and they do most of the patient discharges, so they have to get a more senior resident for prescriptions. Most likely someone signed a bunch of scripts and gave his dea # to make life a little easier. Of course, if the signed scripts got lost or you had an unscroupulous junior resident, people could get in trouble.

Do we feel the need to make a trip to Indiana or should we get all our fireworks ordered by fax? The company we are ordering from has the 140 shot oman candles as well as Chaos artillery shells which are 60 g artillery shells made by the same company that makes the Excalibar, If we go to Indiana it would only be to get fuse and maybe pro shells if we felt the need to buy more artillery shells. We should probably order fuse with our fireworks purchase

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 2:04 PM

My comment was more at Tommy Malone and the state of BU baseball while we were there. Wiggy came on then I graduated so he didnt have anything to do with my summer experiences. You have to admit he was better than tommy though. I know I only had to put up with Wiegandt for 1 year, but playing under Tommy was like not even having a coach. Most of the team barely sobered up enough to play games, some of them slept in tarps during games because they were so hung over.
