A few thoughts

lay ups and free throws hurt.

Chris jones flopping, no big deal we are a fan base that rooted for bj Flynn

The louisville fan base is not as sad about the loss as uk is trying to make it out to be.

Not sure if both teams are good at defense or bad at shooting.

Good offense is more entertaining.

Radio tomorrow will be an embarrassment to the entire state as winners and losers.

Ricks biggest mistake was not playing the Egyptian and the baby faced assassin.

If Georgia wins the football game then the basketball loss will hurt more, A football win will help with the loss.

This documentary was on TV last night. For those of you with direct tv, you can probably catch it again sometime. It was really pretty good until the end when they starred discussing the trend of bourbon bars popping up across the country. It still wasnt bad, but it pisses me off that bourbon has become trendy. Fucking hipsters out in LA abd DC.

joe on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 10:33 AM

One bar in LA had a bourbon made in Lawrenceburg Indiana.

joe on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 10:34 AM

Laura's brother will buy bourbon here every time he was here and take it home to dc. Not sure if it is cheaper here or just a better selection.

douglas on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 2:17 PM

Both actually. It's a lot cheaper in KY and most places can't touch the selection.

joe on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2:37 PM

A 60-year-old coworker of mine died. Before working at the vA she was a major in the army. All I can remember about her is her telling a story about the monkey they bought in front of Kmart that stole a friends church wig and masturbated all over the place.

joe on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 5:25 PM

Everybody with LHON are dumbfucks I sm convinced. They seriously trust the Internet over a doctor thst has dedicated his profession to LHON.

Idebrnone is a synthetic coenzyme q 10 that has higher absorption rates and will actually reach thr affected mitochondria of the optic nerve. Co q 10 won't.

One person didn't know what synthetic drug meant and heard they were bad. She thinks all synthetic drugs are meth and bath salts.

Other people keep taking co w 10 because it is cheaper. Test isn't smarter. We have really expensive urine.

Basically everyone thinks Brock cooks meth all day in the lab and Chris does voodoo with craft.

So these pills I take called idebrnone are a synthetic version of coenzyme Q 10. It has better absorption so it reaches the eyes better. Coenzyme Q 10 pretty much doesn't do anything for the eyes. Some lunatic is convinced that our doctor is in cahoots with the pharmaceutical company and that is the only reason he is pushing idebrnone. He has give as far to say doctors and the phsrmscruticwl compsnies are manipulating data.

The best part too is thst this guy lives in Tasmania and knows nothing of this doctor other then the internet.

douglas on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 8:12 AM

i'm not in for baseball this year. was hoping it'd get me to participate more and keep up w/ baseball last year, it did't, all it did was annoy me b/c I didn't know any of the players, and i didn't have enough knowledge to make any moves outside of looking at stats.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 12:20 PM

I'm in as long as there isn't a restriction on number of moves

Wrecking Crew on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 12:40 PM

Didn't only 4 people actually pay attention to their teams last year?

joe on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 3:22 PM

Me you Brent Douglas and the guy who won?

douglas on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 4:25 PM

honestly i didn't except every few weeks when i'd remember i had a team to manage and go on and make a bunch of moves. But i never had any idea if I was actually making right moves or not, i was going solely based on stats b/c I didn't know who anyone was or if they were really any good.

Brent on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 5:40 PM

Ok, I put a restriction of 20 moves per season. It looks like 70% of the league was able to maintain that.

Phil and Brock are you in?

joe on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 6:40 PM

Douglas, I gave you props because you at least put a valid lime up in most the time

Brent on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 10:11 PM

Let me know if anyone knows anybody interested in playing.

Wrecking Crew on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:13 PM

I'm out if we have a limit on number of moves.

1. I don't think you should be penalized for paying attention to the season.

2. 70% of our league didn't really play, so that's why they didn't have many transactions.

3. 20 transactions doesn't even give you one a week.

Wrecking Crew on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:16 PM

Hell, I'd be interested in making a transaction minimum to make sure people are paying attention to their team. I agree, I'd rather not see it get ridiculous like some rotisserie I've played in, and teams would make around 100 moves. Allowing moves is the lesser of 2 evils.

Wrecking Crew on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:19 PM

Douglas, isn't making the right move more about looking at stats than the players name. I know I've held on to people way too long because I knew the name instead of paying attention to how they were playing. If I drafted a team myself, it probably would be great if the season was several years ago because that's when I knew of the players.

joe on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 5:00 PM

The draft is way too vslusble with s cap in transactions. .

Brock on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 7:13 PM

35-1. Sorry Cats fans, bad draw.

Brock on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 7:15 PM

I can jump into the Fantasy Baseball league, Brent. Who is setting up the Sci tournament bracket? Phil?

Brent on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 5:16 AM

Ok, how about limit the number of moves to 25. Basically that would have only affected two teams last year: mine and Chris's. We had 34 and 28 moves, respectively. Everyone else was 25 and below, with Chris only going over by 3. I don't think it will affect you that much. Basically, I just want to limit what I was doing towards the end of the year and switching out every week to try and get a two start pitcher week. Seem fair?

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 10:08 AM

Still opposed to the transaction limit, but I'll play. How many people do we have, and how many do we need?

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:37 AM

One of my reps may be interested in joining if we need to replace anyone or are looking to add.

Phil on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 3:05 PM

Mountaineers appear to have a guy on their roster called Billy Dee Williams. I hope one of the announcers says something like, "Lando for 3!!"

Brent on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 5:09 PM

It will add a little more balance to the league, this year, good pitchers won't be the only thing that wins

Brent on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 5:17 PM

Chris, we just picked up another player, tell your rep, he's in...email me his address

Wrecking Crew on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 7:45 PM

I don't know if it will balance it more but there are a shit ton more categories for both pitchers and hitters. What I saw to balance it was doubling up on bases for hitters (points for double/triples/hr as well as total bases).

Wrecking Crew on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:01 PM

Brent, sent you his email thru espn

Brent on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 4:35 PM

Wrecking Crew on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 3:44 PM

You're already set. It looks like 3 new teams need to register. It's the same site as last year and you can check out the new scoring settings too.

I was surprised with my offense. I drafted pitching.

Phil on Thursday, April 09, 2015 at 8:11 AM

got a bunch of shitty pitchers on the DL15 now. Damn. So now i gotta decide to let them do nothings for a few weeks or burn through like 25% of my roaster moves. Decisions, decisions...

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, April 09, 2015 at 9:48 AM

The roster transaction limit. It is a bitch, but I have another suggestion about that although it goes against Joe's idea. A bigger bench should limit the number of transactions, while giving you options to substitute players. It may even encourage trades instead of just looking to the waiver wire for players. The downsides that I see would be bench hoarding and the draft would take forever.

joe on Thursday, April 09, 2015 at 10:39 AM

I am not in that draft.

I let the computer auto draft my last four picks. One of them is in AAA so I dropped him. Another was on the disabled list so I dropped him. Another one was a catcher who doesn't play and only pinch hits so I dropped him. The other is a reliever that sucks sink dropped him.

Brent on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 6:33 PM

Sorry for the late reply, Zambia is good but I think if you want to do Safari, you head to Tanzania. Nothing beats the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Plus, they can add a couple of other parks but those two are the biggest. If you time it right, you might even be able to see the great migration of wildebeest. Its supposed to be pretty amazing, definitely on my list.

It looks like February is when all the calves are being born:

https://www.expertafrica.com/tanzan...beest-migration

BTW, Lee's (PT classmate) brother, Alison does hunting safari's. Im sure you could go on one, but unless you want to see big game get shot, I would steer clear.

It's the curse of Tabasco Carrasco. He's going six SP using them in the RP spots. The fantasy gods are smiting him for it. He's got an honest to god reliever (aka his third highest scoring pitcher who's been on the bench all season) going this week and I predict a win.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 12:39 PM

He's the commish and changed the score settings. He should realize it's not as beneficial this year. Of course, I'm going with an extra starter this week even though the reliever I sat has been doing exceptionally well until last week.

fan theory on reddit about Jurrasic Park

In the upcoming Jurassic World, Chris Pratt's character, a velociraptor trainer, is the chubby kid that Grant frightens at the beginning of the original film. Grant tells hims to "have a little respect" for raptors, and in the trailers for Jurassic World, Pratt's character describes his relationships with the parks raptors as "a relationship based on respect".
Honestly i like this one so much that the movie will have to actively contradict it for me to not just assume that it's true.

joe on Tuesday, June 09, 2015 at 9:38 AM

My fantasy team is tanking. I am changing my name to the mash 4077

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, June 09, 2015 at 11:03 AM

My only issue with the new Jurassic Park right now is that we were taught to fear velociraptors in all the other films. Yes the T-rex was big and bad and scary, but the raptors were the smart ones would could fuck you up as well. Now Chris Pratt's character is leading their pack? I don't get it.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, June 09, 2015 at 11:07 AM

Wow, Joe, your team is a MASH unit. I thought I had it bad when I lost 3 of my pitchers early in the season. Was going to complain about how streaky my batters are, but after looking at your team I'll be happy with what they're doing.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, June 09, 2015 at 11:11 AM

Is Brock even playing? It looks like he has 2 guys on the DL in his starting lineup for a couple weeks in a row now. Whatever his strategy is, he is still only a game back. Fuck fantasy sports. Don't even have to pay attention and can still win.

Brock on Tuesday, June 09, 2015 at 12:06 PM

It has more to do with the fact that I never remember to address my lineup until Monday and I've been hoping Mesaraco will get healthy since I don't want to waste one of my precious moves (as we are limited this year) on a stop-gap catcher with no other use.

That being said... glad I drafted Todd Frazier and Bryce Harper.

how are game winning RBIs calculated? I won the league overnight when A-Rod was awarded the GWRBI. He put them ahead like 5-4 but the game was ultimately won 8-6. The Yankees never surrendered a lead though. I thought it would have been whoever knocked in the 7th run would get the GWRBI. Not complaining, but I guess it's different than hockey.

Phil on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:07 AM

nearly 20% of Joe's RBIs have been of the game winning variety. Clutch hitting

Phil on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 12:18 PM

I like this proposal that Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, and Palmeiro compete in a home run derby to determine who gets a spot in the hall of fame

http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2015/7/...steroid-era-fun

Wrecking Crew on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 2:55 PM

I think a GWRBI is the RBI that is hit to ultimately give the team the lead. In your case then, it depends on when the runs were scored. If they never lost the the lead after he put them up, then its the game winning RBI. I think it's kind of a dumb stat. If you get an RBI in the first inning and go on to win 1-0, it's a GWRBI too, but it doesn't quite have the same drama as a walk off RBI, which would seem to be more of a traditional GWrbi.

Phil on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 5:01 PM

huh. that's different from hockey. hockey considers it whoever scored the goal that ultimately would have given them the win.

anyways. yeah. it'd be much more exciting to have walk-off RBI than that

Wrecking Crew on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10:39 PM

I just looked it up to be sure and it is the RBI that gives you a lead that you don't give up. Interestingly, it was such a debated stat as to who should get it (the run that initially got the lead or would have ultimately won the game) that it's not an official stat anymore. Only an official stat from 1981 to 1989. Keith Hernandez and Eddie Murray are the leading compilers in each league.

The Berenstein/Berenstain bears alternate universe theory.

It's my favorite because I distinctly remember it being spelled with an E.
Basically, we used to live in a universe where it was indeed spelled with an E. There was another alternate universe where it was spelled with an A. If you check now, it is spelled with an A, and always was. Some time between the 90s and today, the "A" universe overlapped the E universe, and now we live in the A universe.

Just sent you money for Joe and myself from Joanna's paypal account. Is the payout working the same as last year? Money to the regular season winner, playoff winner, 2nd and 3rd, and most points against?

Phil on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:04 AM

sent!

Brent on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:19 PM

Got your payments, thanks guys! Waiting on that deadbeat Brock, while we are all waiting for some cure for cancer, lets try and first focus on paying the bills...its $25. Brock, do I need to send some kind of grant proposal?

This year, payout will be the same as the football league:

Winner of the World Series: $165
2nd place: $65
3rd place: $25
Winner of the regular season: $25
Winner of the loser bracket $10
Most points against in the regular season: $10

Tie breakers will go to most points, then winner of head to head, then most points against, then fewest transactions, after that, flip a coin and call it in the air.

Brent on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:37 PM

Phil, looks like you and Bash Bros are going to have a showdown with the last game of the season.

Phil on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 8:13 AM

i got like 85 points dropped on me last night. . I checked - the only person getting more points posted against them is you, Brent.

Papelboner isn't helping matters. Two saves in all of august. Fucking Nationals.

1 - Overall record *
2 - Head-to-head record
3 - Division record
4 - Coin Flip

Time to figure out the scenarios

Phil, you should do the brewery bike ride with us. Brock too.

Phil on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 8:41 PM

i think if Chris loses and you win then you have a chance

Phil on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 9:01 PM

Joe to the playoffs

Joe beats Ricky Bobby
Brent beats Bay of Puigs
Chris loses to JoBu

Apples takes the sixth spot and then it would be a coin toss between Chris and Joe for the last spot.

Phil on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 9:02 PM

If I manage to beat the Bash Brother juggernaut it goes coin toss for the bye week. If I lose and Jobu wins then I drop to third

Phil on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 9:04 PM

Chris to the playoffs

Puigs can't knock Chris out due to the tie breaker rules. Only the Joe tiebreaker scenario can keep him out

Phil on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 9:05 PM

Everyone else - they played SP as RP and the fantasy gods smote them

Brent on Tuesday, September 01, 2015 at 10:56 AM

We use mountain bikes.

Brilliant pregame activity, Brock.

Chris, what are your plans.?

joe on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 at 4:08 PM

Some things never change, Petrino still can't own up to his mistakes, said the officials told him the clock was going to run, that's why he called the time out.

Wrecking Crew on Sunday, September 06, 2015 at 11:11 AM

Apparently it wasn't as bad of a mistake as originally thought. The clock was going to start running because the play ended in bounds, but it would have been with a 25 second clock play-clock and not 40. Had he not used the TO, they would have gotten the ball back with around 25 seconds and a TO. Still seems like a dumb rule because the penalty replays the down, and the down started with the clock stopped. Why wouldn't the replay start with the clock stopped?

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:58 AM

It looks like its a kind of double elimination round robin. You (2-0) and marbles (1-0) haven't lost. Fly ball (0-1) and egg roll (1-1) only have one loss. Puigs has 2 losses. winners side is more of a true bracket Jobu and ricky bobby going for 1 & 2. bash and wife and kids for 3 & 4. me and wei yin for 5 & 6. them apples is 7.

Brent on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 5:33 PM

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 3:08 PM

Phil, it sounds like you're doing way to much work for this. In my opinion, the groom should be responsible for getting tuxes and being there on time in a sober enough fashion to get married. Maybe a little planning of the rehearsal dinner, but that's about it. I don't think I did much more except show up where and when Joanna told me to in order to give a token opinion.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 3:16 PM

That being said, Joanna has been using someone for our kids that she really likes. Brent on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 6:20 PM

Joe you won the loser bracket, are you on PayPal?

Brent on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 6:29 PM

Turns out Jobu likes Scrapple Empanadas more than chickens, the Ricky Bobby's were able to shake and bake there way into second place. The Bash brothers bashed their last brother. HYWAMK were unable to complete the triple crown of fantasy and effectively Papelboned out of third place. The Penal League All Stars donned their orange jumpsuits and were found on the side of the road cleaning the trash of what was left of the losers to finish on top of the loser bracket.

Thoughts on the season: I like the acquisition limit at 25, it kind of turns acquisitions into a currency and you have to be careful not too spend to much earlier in the year.

Winner of the World Series: $165 --Jobu's Scrapple Empanadas
2nd place: $65 --Ricky Bobby's
3rd place: $25 --Oakland Bash Brothers
Winner of the regular season: $25 --How's Your Wife and My Kids
Winner of the loser bracket $10 --California Penal League All Stars
Most points against in the regular season: $10 --How's Your Wife and My Kids

So ESPN OTL, has investigated the U of L stipper/prostitution thing? Sounds like the are confirming some of the allegations in the book. Anyway Chris Carter was on Mike and Mike discussing it, and one of his takes was, "I've been to Louisville a lot. If you see a group of women walking around in high heels then you're either at the Derby or around strippers." I would like to hear what the female population of Louisville thinks of that.

Brock on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 10:12 PM

Phil could either benefit or suffer for waiting this long for his bachelor party. Either we are all too old to properly carry out festivities or the cumulative knowledge could be channeled into something epic.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 10:04 AM

I don't think it's knowledge that could make it better. It's the fact that we all have incomes now and since most of us are married with kids, we may be looking for a reason to go blow off some steam.

Wrecking Crew on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 10:05 AM

Of course the too old thing wouldn't surprise me at all either.

joe on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:40 AM

What are Pittsburgh Penguins hockey tickets like?Like I know Washington Capitals were pretty ridiculously pricey.

Phil on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 10:13 AM

ridiculously pricey

douglas on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:22 AM

pittsburgh's actually a pretty decent underrated town. both football and baseball on the river across from downtown. pretty good collection of bars / restaurants. if you do that, gotta go to fathead's:

http://www.fatheadspittsburgh.com/

really good beer, and portion sizes that will ensure you do not leave hungry.

joe on Tuesday, December 01, 2015 at 4:32 PM

That good of a season?

douglas on Tuesday, December 01, 2015 at 4:41 PM

depends on if last place gets their money back or not

Brent on Tuesday, December 01, 2015 at 9:06 PM

Last place does not get their money back but "Most Points Against" (to which you are a lock) gets $30 and the winner of the loser bracket playoffs gets $30, so there is a chance you could come out ahead on this thing.

Brock on Thursday, December 03, 2015 at 12:56 AM

Allow us to set the scene: Some of the cast members from the upcoming "Full House" sequel, appeared at AT&T Park on Thursday to film a bit for the show. The original program took place in San Francisco, so their presence at the game makes sense. This particular scene involved some seventh-inning stretch hijinks.

joe on Friday, March 04, 2016 at 7:55 AM

I still hold a grudge over basebsll field lights and scoreboard and the natural aesthetic beauty of the campus.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, March 04, 2016 at 9:36 AM

What does that have to do with anything? Did the baseball team suddenly get some of those? Did the death of McGowan spark some old resentment?

joe on Friday, March 04, 2016 at 11:39 AM

They were talking about McGowan on the radio. They were saying how great he was at building the University including snorts. He would go out of his way to email athletes and talk with them after games. We didn't see any of that shit.

We were lucky to have caps and sleeves.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, March 04, 2016 at 12:49 PM

Hell, when Wiggy got there we did our own fundraising.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, March 04, 2016 at 12:52 PM

Yeah, the beauty of the campus thing was irritating. Hutch nearly lost a finger building a batting cage that we had to take down. And night games would have been great. I'm sure some students would come sit on the hillside and drink while pre-gaming before going out.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, March 04, 2016 at 1:06 PM

5'7", 528 lbs, BMI 82. Obese BMI is >30. What the fuck dude? He actually put on 60 lbs in the last year and a half. I think his exact words to me today were, "I think my weight may be causing some of my pain now." Really? You think? He could lose the weight equivalent of me and still be obese.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 9:49 AM

Phil on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 3:47 PM

Chris, Theresa has seen triple digit BMI here in WV. Remind me to tell you all about how she and her husband bang when you all get here...

douglas on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 10:42 AM

super late response, but I think the meth was that super secret special meth, where instead of your teeth falling out, your boobs get bigger

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10:03 AM

That is truly disgusting, Phil. I had to do the math to see what a triple digit BMI could be. For a person with a height of 5 ft, they would have to weigh 515 lbs. That is unbelievable.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:31 AM

Assuming the husband is also a fatass, they would have to have help. If he is a skinny chubby-chaser, slap a thigh and ride the wave in?

Brent on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11:15 PM

Chris, I made some slight changes:

Does that factor in weaving in and out of moving vehicles?

Brock on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 1:45 AM

Smiling Moose was further down. I'm pretty sure we backtracked to find a midget bartender before venturing further. The fact that it was cold enough to be snowing makes that walk back even more impressive.

douglas on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 8:09 AM

Wrecking Crew on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10:49 AM

Soccer is about the only sport I can bear to watch young kids play. There isn't much to tell them except go kick the ball and don't use your hands. If I had any hair, I would have pulled it out by now trying to coach 3-5 year olds in tball, and watching basketball in that age is just as bad. Too many rules, too many concepts, the kids need too much of an attention span, and too many motor skills needed in other sports.

Louder than life is 10/1-2. I've seen rumors that slipknot and avenged sevenfold are headlining. Other rumored bands I saw were anthrax, slayer, mega death, and disturbed. Douglas, you got an inside scoop again? If this really is the lineup, I'm glad they went back to more of a metal sound like the first year. Who wants to go with me then?

douglas on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:56 AM

i've got the whole linup actually. avenged sevenfold and slayer headlining saturday, disturbed and slipknot on sunday. the cult, pretty reckless, pierce the veil, cheap trick, anthrax, hellyeah, chevy metal (foo fighters' cover band), motionless in white, avatar, sick puppies, all on saturday. sunday is korn, ghost, alter bridge, clutch, sevendust, pop evil, parkway drive, skillet, trivium, zakk sabbath (zakk wylde's black sabbath cover band), adelita's way.

definitely heavier than the last two years

douglas on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:57 AM

they're announcing in about an hour the official lineup, there could be additions i suppose, but that should be any band of consequence right there

Brock on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 1:55 PM

Any good stories from the wedding? Things got a little fuzzy towards the end.

Phil on Monday, July 04, 2016 at 11:21 PM

I think we had at least one couple break up during the reception so that was cool

douglas on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 12:17 PM

that's always the mark of a good bachelor party, if you can get the groom to call off the wedding afterwards

adrian on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 6:02 PM

Jay texted me the morning after the wedding and asked me what all I remembered. I told him I remembered there was a wedding.

adrian on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 6:09 PM

In all honestly have sporadic flashes of the reception. There was one point where I was at the bar and they told us the makers ran out. Then at some point I remember Chris yelling they found more makers.

Also the next day my son was playing with a flashing foam stick. I asked Jess where he got it from and she was "are you serious? That is what we all held up for Phil and Theresa to run out under".

Phil on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 6:17 PM

Definitely one break up at the reception. One guy passed out on the shitter then ripped his back up falling into the garbage can. One hockey wife almost fell over the balcony. And I got two vases.

Phil on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 6:19 PM

Btw, if any of you bastards ever get remarried that honeymoon sight is well worth the 3% they steal from the money for the spreadsheet of gifts received.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 6:31 PM

I asked the same question about the flashing sticks. Some things are starting to come back as Joanna is filling me in. That's why I was asking here to see if other things would start coming back to me.

Apparently, we gave the Montezuma to 2 random homeless dudes.

Joanna and I walked to 4th street with some girl named Sara. I got drunkenly irrational and didn't want to pay a $10 cover there, so we ditched her and went to our hotel.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 6:32 PM

Did I puke somewhere? Joanna remembers someone mentioning it to her and she tried to ignore it.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 6:33 PM

Things start getting fuzzy for me after Joe's toast.

Phil on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 8:09 PM

No puke at the wedding that I know of. Worst I heard about you was that you repeatedly punched Theresa's friend Mikey in the kidneys while telling him you loved him

adrian on Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at 8:59 PM

A guy passed out on the shitter?

joe on Wednesday, July 06, 2016 at 8:19 AM

Passed out on the shitter in a hotel room after the rehearsal dinner evening

Adrian, you were dead set on us doing lunch sometime soon

Chris, if you puked it was possibly in a flowerpot or something.

One of my highlights was all the Dayton people doing some lame 0H I O thing and then we got really excited because California love by Tupac came on right after it.

It came off as one of the whitest dance offs ever

douglas on Wednesday, July 06, 2016 at 9:38 AM

tupac would be proud that mid to late 30 something white drunk men were performing his most popular song so well, at the muhammad ali center no less...

Chris, you also confusd me with a black man in glasses. The similarities were uncanny.

douglas on Wednesday, July 06, 2016 at 1:09 PM

I think the highlight of Chris's night was when the bartender came back w/ more bourbon. I thought he was gonna start humping his leg when he came around that corner

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, July 06, 2016 at 1:29 PM

I remember bits of that. I think I forced down a rum and coke before they abs was not hapay about it. The bartenders kept giving me funny looks when I asked for doubles with a splash of coke. I probably should have stopped when the bourbon ran out

joe on Wednesday, July 06, 2016 at 2:08 PM

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, July 06, 2016 at 5:59 PM

I do recall having to hold Chris by his neck at the end during the group circle because he couldn't stand up and kept dragging Joanna down and swaying in and out instead of side to side. Par for the course.

Highlight: Chris wore the fake beard like a mullet in the photo booth.

The throckmorton sign is when the penis points to the side of injury on a pelvic/hip/femur xray. If someone really did this study, I feel sorry for them. Looking for the penis shadow on hundreds of xrays to see if it really points to the side that is fractured. I only thought it was something we joked about.

I only post this b/c I am extremely bored and saw a very prominent throkmorton sign today. I also found out it was named after a neurologist born in the late 1800's.

I was contemplating parking at Ty's place on E. Washington, heading over to the Silver Dollar for lunch, and walking over to the concert on one or both days. Uber is an option too, but the shit show traffic is making me consider walking options.

Wrecking Crew on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 1:57 PM

For traffic and just not wanting to drive, I was even considering getting a campsite. Last time I went, I walked up Zorn to the VA entrance and Joanna picked me up there. Unfortunately I don't think I have that option this year. Looks like that is about a mile walk. Not too bad until the end of the night.

Phil on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:08 PM

I got this. Uber to Spring Street. Grab a beer. Walk down Spring Street to Mellwood and go to Apololype. Wander of to Silver Dollar and/or Hilltop. Take Pope down to Brownsboro then hit up the Rush Inn. By then you shouldn't even feel the walk down Mellwood and you are there. Then take Edith Rd back to Brownsboro and then hike up Clifton to Frankfort ave and let it all blow over then grab an Uber once it calms down.

Peace of cake.

Phil, at some point during the adventure you lay out, we would need to actually make it to the concert - which has an absurd amount of bourbon.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 4:15 PM

Drinks are probably cheaper at the bars Phil mentioned than the concert. But if you're afraid of blacking out there or spewing in a port-a-pot, you could just do the bar hop backwards after the concert. Uber to the concert, then Uber home from the final stop.

Wrecking Crew on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 4:23 PM

Brock, any idea when you plan on getting there either day? Henry and Catherine have soccer Saturday, so I may try to go to that beforehand. That would put me into Louisville around 3 at the earliest. Hellyeah is the first band I want to see that day and they don't play until 420. Hopefully, I make it earlier. Sunday, I would like to see Skindred and trivium, and they play at 1250 and 125. I'm off on Monday, so I'm ready for a long weekend.

Brock on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 12:01 AM

I took off Monday as well - Sunday is definitely the better day. I didn't have an urgency to get there early Saturday, so maybe Phil's pregame plan isn't totally unreasonable.

So the professor of the class I speak at always brings up a woman leaving leaving her husband because she doesn't like quadriplegic sex anymore.

I successfully said in class tonight at university of Louisville: speaking of quadriplegics having sex, is anybody in here familiar with the website porn hub?

I got an invite to Rob and Leah's party.

This place is dead.

Matt Harvey needs to learn how to rally.

joe on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 7:23 AM

BU baseball players call a guy I run with and tell them their daughter is drunk and needs to be picked up from derby and then help her into the car.

Man times have changed.

joe on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 7:33 AM

Went to the funeral home yesterday for a neighbor's mom. The neighbor is the same as me living in his grandparents house.

Fun stories with his uncle referencing Larry and my dad.

Lead to some math. I've lived in this house longer than any where else now.

In about a year and a half I will hit half my life living on Gloucester

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 1:03 PM

I would love to hear old time Gloucester stories.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 1:10 PM

Speaking of half lives, how do count it with significant others? This year marks 20 that I've known Joanna, couple years past half my life. "Only" married for 12 in 4 days. Going to to be a while before we hit the half life being married.

douglas on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 2:01 PM

ah yes, the 12 year anniversary of the greatest downtown walk known to mankind, culminating in Uncle larry chants at Maker's mark as he proceeded to purchase about 30 jager bombs

Brock on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:31 PM

I remember when we couldn't have drinks in the living room. Either because of the new carpet or the pool table. Surely it was the pool table.

joe on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:06 AM

We had to rip that carpet up and refinish the hardwood because of how disgustingly stained the carpet was from spills and Chris vomiting.

At least I have the first spill. Chris had an epic vomit when we celebrated my dad's retirement.

There was a good wine stain on the carpet as well. that had to do with the night cuban was being Adrian's wing man picking up Jessie

joe on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:12 AM

Running partner talking about his daughter after derby being too drunk to walk. He made the statement I can't remember ever being that drunk that I couldn't stand up. Other people agreed.

I had to chime in and say that was about every other weekend. No big deal.

douglas on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 3:26 PM

Wrecking Crew on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 12:42 AM

Giggling grizzly, greedy hamster, blind pig, blind pelican, blue rhino, blue parrot, purple cow, something moose forgot it. First two are denver. Adjevtive animal, any cities original?

Phil on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 12:35 PM

I get a white supremacist newspaper left on my driveway about once every few months by a thoughtful neighbor. On the back page there was an add for a sports site dedicated to proving that white athletes aren't more common in the pros thanks to a media and corporate conspiracy because reasons. So I went there.

The top post in the college basketball section is about Bellarmine. Apparently they have quite a following among the white power crowd.

douglas on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:54 AM

well if a white supremacist needed a team to root for, it'd be hard to find one better

joe on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 12:51 PM

I heard that stupid hate me today song on the radio this weekend.
Do you line what was the name of that website that we kept posting on back in college? Was it hate me today.com?

Brock on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 5:44 PM

Bangedup.com

Fuzzy memories...I miss the Natty Sci holidays.

Candystand.com

I hate me today site I'm thinking of was one of those flavors of the month like online risk

douglas on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2:15 PM

the real life monopoly game provided good entertainment for awhile

Phil on Tuesday, June 06, 2017 at 5:53 PM

Important site update!

Going to move NattySci to the cloud. Part of this I'm going to rewrite this motherfucker.

1) Get rid of the posts. Just going to display the last 50 comments or so. I'll change it to match how twitter and facebook do it and do most recent at the top.

2) Make the thing have a login so you don't have a user and password right above this

3) Add SSL. That's free now a days, so now when you look at the site at work they won't know it is dick jokes.

Part of the move the site might go down. I'm sure it will be devastating.

joe on Wednesday, June 07, 2017 at 9:31 AM

I hope you are doing this on company time.

Phil on Friday, June 09, 2017 at 11:35 AM

It's all on company time. I'm a deadbeat unemployed person right now

Brock on Friday, June 09, 2017 at 9:22 PM

Phil, I might have some contract work for you then. I'm sure you have other preferences, but how is your PERL and Python?

Phil on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 1:33 PM

Never used both. I'm holding tight on work until August. I got a good severence package so I'm going on a sabbatical until then. After that my plan is to try and get a startup or small business going in Dayton that I can set my own hours around Theresa's schedule plus piggyback off her benefits

Phil on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 1:34 PM

You all doing machine learning though? That is on my list of things to get better at. My guess is you all are using tensor flow which would be cool

Brock on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 7:29 PM

That's out of my area of expertise, but we are working on some diagnostic algorithms for these new immuno-oncology drugs, so I'm certain there is an opportunity to get into the learning, especially with the insane buckets of data we generate. My first hurdle is properly handling those buckets.

Now the conversation on the radio makes sense.

They were saying on the radio that the coach is a dick, but he could also be hilarious at the same time. Should be good television.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, July 04, 2017 at 8:07 PM

Happy natty sci holiday, 4th of july! We need to bring back slip 'n slide wiffle ball.

Wrecking Crew on Tuesday, July 04, 2017 at 8:08 PM

How would you rate natty sci holidays?

1. NYE
2, 4th of july
3. Marc's birthday
4. Friday night

joe on Saturday, July 08, 2017 at 10:48 AM

September 2003 was a pretty good holiday.

That was when we removed all shelves from the refrigerator and replaced everything with beer for a month.

Wrecking Crew on Saturday, July 08, 2017 at 7:21 PM

What did those few weeks encompass? Your 21st, Wes' bachelor party, and I thought there was one more thing. Was Wes' wedding part of it? Or did we just decide to stay drunk the entire month for the hell of it?

joe on Saturday, July 08, 2017 at 7:25 PM

Wes wedding, Wes bachelor party, me 21, and then I think we threw in Joanna and your birthdays just to stay drunk.

joe on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:38 AM

How long is to long to have a strangers car sit parked on the street in front of my house before I think I'm a hypocrite?

my friends have never left a car drunkenly in front of the neighbors house.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 6:51 PM

WOuld expect it to be gone the next day. I think if you pick it up on the second day, that should be fine if the night was especially rough. But it should not be there the 3rd day.

Where was alcohol delivery back in our stupider days?

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 4:05 PM

SOunds good in theory, but I don't think it would have benefited us in our stupider days. It would have been rare for us to run out of alcohol before their delivery time ends. Hell, it was rare for us to start drinking before their delivery time ends. Pregame from 9-11 then head out and leave the bars at 4 am. Goddamn, how did we survive?

Brock on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 1:32 PM

I ask that question a lot.
