Cool Stuff This Week

Since Marc doesn't seem to want to step up and review new media releases (sorry Marc) I have decided to take it upon myself to do it.  However, I am lazy, so it will not be very in depth.  But if you want me to search for things, I will be happy to.  And if Marc wants to step up and show me how it's done, I will certainly let him.

Movies:

The Lady Killers-Tom Hanks and some dudes decide to rob a casino by burrowing through from an old ladies cellar.  She finds out, and then they decide to pop a cap in her ass, but it's hard for them to do.  The original that this is a remake of starred Alec Guiness, which begs the question, "Why didn't he use his Jedi Mind powers to deal with the old woman?"

Jersey Girl- Ben Affleck gets J-Lo knocked up, then she dies giving birth.  He moves back in with his dad and a grad student Liv Tyler tries to get him to love her. By the way, she is way hotter than any real live grad student.  Directed by Silent Bob, so it could be kinda cool.

Never Die Alone- DMX returns home and is shot dead.  Again.

DVD releases

The Point - Psychedelic anti-discrimination cartoon from the 70's.  Need drugs to watch

Gothika - Crazy ass Halle Berry is thrown into the mental institution where she works.  Is it real? A dream? Does she get naked? Do I care?

Honey - Jessica Alba shakes it like a Polaroid Picture.  Need I say more? Oh yeah, Glitter meets Flashdance.

Ransom and Splash Special Editions - A kidnapped rich kid whose dad is anti semetic-oh wait-it's just Mel Gibson- and a mermaid who gets it on with Tom Hanks before he sold out and did "good movies"

Beyond Borders- Angelina Jolie's DSL travel to a third world country and try to save starving kids.

This info is from imdb.com

Not much going on in music that doesn't suck this week, but March 30th marks the release date of U.P.O.'s new album.  Awsome!

There is a lot more I could write about, but as you can see, this already takes up way too much space.  Phil, is there a better way for me to do this?

Ideally we could break up the movies and music posts, with big jay on music and Marc on movies into seperate posts. I realize they are both released the same day, but perhaps we could do movies on Thursdays (kinda between DVD and the theatres) and music on Tuesdays.

Length isn't much of a problem, but I'd possibly bold the names of the movies so they stand out.

Marc on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 1:45 PM

Phil, if you want me too, i will gladly do movie stuff, didn't think you were serious at first.

video of the day:
Hey kids, how'd you like to get hammered off your favorite booze without hurting your stomach and liver by consuming large quanities of alocohol. by inhaling it of course silly. Brought to you by Britian, AWOL (Alcohol Without Liquid) you inhale it and it goes to your bloodstream quicker without damaging your liver and without even drinking it. Warning: Help experts say AWOL may lead to brain damage.

This past Friday I was treated two-fold. First I was treated to dinner and a movie by Kellie. And secondly I was treated to seeing Angelina Jolie's naked flesh once again in that free movie. The movie is Taking Lives, (starring Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke, Keifer Sutherland, and Oliver Martinez) and it brings up the point of whether already-established actresses really have to bare all. An actress might bare her body to the screen early in her career to get parts in films, but later do not. Look at Nicole Eggert, she used to be that hot blonde who showed in movies, now she's Nicole Eggert, and is "too good for that" News Flash Nicole, "no you're not. you owe us four years of boobies" Some of you are saying "Who's Nicole Eggert?" See, if she wouldn't her put her shirt back on you would know her name. Some actresses do it to get more attention after their prime boob time. IE: Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates (note: she had no prime boob time.....ever). However Halle Berry and Angeline Jolie have showed since their boom in popularity, and both are Oscar winners. Instead of the new trend of "get ugly, win an Oscar", Hhw about "show your boobs get an Oscar". Kinda like beads at Mardi Gras.
Overall, Taking Lives is decent, it has good elements but overall I found it laking, and I saw the ending coming 20 minutes before it happened. But overall it would make a decent rental at least. However it you just wish to see Jolie's luscious bossum than you can see Original Sin, Foxfire, Pushing Tin, Tomb Raider (side of boob shot) and others. Bless her crazy ass heart.... as well as the breasts that preside over it.

Upsetting news, a google search on "crazed buffalo" does not show Natty Sci in any of the four pages of search results. One is actually porn too. Bizarre. Porn has beaten Natty Sci with "Crazed Buffalo" Which is ironic because Natty Sci's "crazed buffalo" regular beats it to porn.

3 posts in one hour, wow i must be bored.

kellie on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 5:15 PM

taking lives was an awesome movie, better than what i thought it would be. i didn't like ethan hawks part, but it was good other than that. besides that i am getting tired of justin fucking timberlakes song, don't be so quick to walk away. i wish he would be quick to shut the fuck up. i'd rather listen to brittany spears song toxic or anything else other than him. at least she can sing better than him i think and dress better. he needs to quit all together.

has anyone seen dawn of the dead? or any other movies that they reccomend? i'm on a movie spree right now for some reason...

how'd you guys do at trivia tonight and what was team name? hope you all won! =)

phil, do you know how i get past a firewall on the computer?i can't sign in on my hotmail instant messenger because of it and i've tried all the help things that the help menu has suggested.

Jay on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 10:35 PM

Good Job, Marc. Yeah, my movie reviewing skills suck, but hopefully provide a few laughs. I will gladly review good music, however, there isn't much out there. But, I guess I should step up and be a man.

Brock on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 5:36 AM

Thanks a lot Marc! Michelle wanted to go see Hidalgo tonight, but maybe I can convince her to see Taking Lives, for its great plot and suspense <cough/> boobs <cough/>. Who doesn't want to see an all-star line-up like Ethan Hawke and Keifer Sutherland <cough/>boobs<cough/>?

I did see Dawn of the Dead this weekend, and I have to give it two thumbs up on the gore! The plot was lacking, but its freakin' zombies... all you need is a chainsaw and an axe!

Marc on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 7:28 AM

Other dvd releases it looks like Jay forgot to mention above are:The Rundown, Shattered Glass, and Dirty Pretty Things.
The Rundown shows that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson can hold his own is movies not having a mummy or swords in it. Along with partner-in-crime Seann William Scott, better known as Stifler, the film rounds out as a great buddy action comedy. The Rock stars as a bounty hunter hired to find Scott's character and bring him back to his father. The story gets interesting with Christopher Walen gumming up the work, as his character is a ruthless tyrant althought very amusing. (The tooth fairy explanation scene is awesome.) And Rosario Dawson is added for the hot chick factor as well as the plot of finding treasure and saving a bunch of people. yeah yeah yeah whatever.....Rosario Dawson (insert mouth-watering sounds here) The Rock shows that he can also deliver comedy in the movie. The movie is a lot of fun and makes you glad to see it. I only have one minor complaint. It needed more cowbell.

Phil on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 7:42 AM

Someone needs to explain to jay that linking to images on the w:\ won't work. Jay, do you still have the link to upload images to nattysci?

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 8:09 AM

Apparently not, Phil.

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 8:15 AM

Don't they mean "Rock Israel like a hurricane?"

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast...ssin/index.html

Church on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 8:20 AM

Jay I believe the phrase Hamas used was that Israel had opened the gates of hell

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 8:55 AM

You just...You just don't get it, do you Matt? I was making a reference to the Scorpions "rock you like a hurricane" instead of "shake Israel like an earthquake". Damn, man, Why you gotta waste my flava!

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 8:58 AM

We just had white-out to sniff back in the day

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/South/03...a.ap/index.html

Church on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 9:04 AM

Scorpions? Dude you should have made reference to Warrant or Cinderella

Brock on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 9:12 AM

Warrant or Cinderella have nothing when compared to Scorpions and White Snake

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 9:16 AM

Brock knows what I'm talking about.

Church on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 9:17 AM

Need I invoke the greatness that is White Lion and Dokken

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 9:24 AM

Don't make me come at you with Queensryche!

Church on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 9:33 AM

Watch out for the double short fury of Kingdome Come and Damn Yankees

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 9:50 AM

Okay, you can't include damn yakees because of their front man, Ted Nugent. He's one crazy ass bitch. Of course, if you insist on including them, I am forced to bring in Firehouse.

Church on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 9:57 AM

Don't forget that Damn Yankees had Tommy Shaw from Styxx

Church on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 10:13 AM

This Saturday and Sunday at 6 and 8:30 I believe in the Floyd Theater at U of L they are showing Bubbahotep if anyone was interested

Phil on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 10:34 AM

Headline coming up on fark.com regarding http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...s_nm/mideast_dc

"Israel says all militant leaders Marked for Death, no one is Above the Law. Israelis are Out For Justice, Militant Leaders are Hard to Kill. Arafat still Under Siege, Palestinians Under Siege 2. All of Middle East is On Deadly Ground"

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 10:40 AM

I guess the Palestinians Die Hard

Phil on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 10:43 AM

Damn it Jay, don't you know anything about the middle east? Bruce Willis was in Die Hard, not Steven Seagal.

Church on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 10:43 AM

Nope they return in Action Jackson starring Carl Weathers and Ahmed Queria as his martial arts dynamo sidekick

Jay on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 10:58 AM

Whoops...I just caught the action movie reference, not the fact that the same guy was in each. My bad, I suck.

Marc on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 12:54 PM

"The Patriot" made an Executive Decision which Unleashed the operative known only as The Glimmer Man, Out for a Kill to take out The Foreigner by shooting him in The Belly of the Beast and leaving huge gaping Exit Wounds and leave him Half Past Dead until his Ticker stops and he is left dying Into the Sun and Out of Reach of anyone to help him.

By the way I feel a Fire Down Below....in my pants

Struggled with some of them but it uses the rest of the Segal Films as listed here.

Brock on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 1:15 PM

Bravo, Marcus Brody! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Bigworm on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 7:12 AM

Anything going on this weekend fellas?

Does anyone know if Romel is coming into town?

Phil on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 7:22 AM

I think going to flannigans or bw3s at 7 and watching the games is a good plan.

Brock on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 7:24 AM

I'm coming into town tonight, but I leave Friday night for Gulf Shores, so if anyone wants to do anything tonight... I'm in.

Brock on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 7:30 AM

Also, its Rommel, as in Erwin Rommel
http://www.valourandhorror.com/DB/P...RSON/Rommel.htm

Bigworm on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 7:42 AM

Yes you are correct, it is Rommel as in the "Desert Fox". I got that spelling off the internet, and I was sucked into the reasoning that if it's on the internet it has to be true. LOL.

Brock on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 8:47 AM

I was also duped into that logic too, because have the websites spell it Irwin, and the other half spell it Erwin. I just went with the spelling on the most historical-looking sites. We'll need an official spelling from Church.

Does anyone go to Genny's anymore? Does anyone do anything on Thursday? Is Phil still going to BW3's? Is Marc a homo? Does Church gangfuck penguins? Is Burket still cutting people? Is Jay flogging it like a pro in Bellarmine's bathroom? Did someone put Doug out of his misery yet? Will I ever stop asking questions I already know the answer to?

Church on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 9:18 AM

Official spelling is Erwin Rommel. Also, I don't or have ever gangfucked penguins. Unlike some people Brock, I am allowed in zoos, I believe you are banned from the Louisville petting zoo due to some instance with a goat.

Jay on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 11:33 AM

I haven't flogged it in the bathrooms here...yet.

Bigworm on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 11:54 AM

Marc - Yes
Jay - No
Church - But they are to cute to stop
Burket - Homeless people make for some really cool experiments

I am game for Genny's...though there are some games tonight.

Jay on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 12:55 PM

Hey, have Burkett or Phil been to Oklahoma City, recently?

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/Southwes...reut/index.html

Phil on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 1:03 PM

hey, i don't have a reputation of getting drunk and waking up in other people's bed.

oh, wait.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 4:01 PM

Neither do I, at least not that I remember.

Penguins are too cute to gangfuck.

Surgery really isn't all it's cracked up to be either. Too many 13 hour days of poking and proding fat people, hernias, and assholes. Hopefully trauma will be more exciting. I just want to see the rib spreaders busted out on somebody at least once.

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 4:03 PM

I need some beer.

Bigworm on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 4:13 PM

Anyone want to go out tonight....what about you Burket what are you doing?

Wrecking Crew on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 5:59 PM

I want to go out and drink heavily. I can't deal with being sober this long. It's been almost 4 weeks. I think I may be having withdrawl symptoms. Fuck it, I've got to study for a midterm tomorrow.
