Fun Links

I probably should stick these in the NCAA section, but I figured that Marc and maybe the ladies would get a kick out of some of these articles I've found over the past few days.

  • The NCAA 2004 All Hair Team
  • The Sports Guy's take on the first weekend of NCAAs.  Not just sports, includes gems like "Does anyone else get excited for the potential of a "Survivor" threesome ... and then eventually talk yourself out of it when you remember that nobody on the island has showered for more than a month?"
  • Statistical analysis of the entire ESPN Bracket contest after one weekend.  The average Tournament Challenge entry had 24 teams (75 percent) remaining after the first round, but that average fell to 7.9 teams (49.4 percent) after the upset-riddled second round.
  • Brock's been pushing for a Candystand link and recommends the new ping pong game.  Pretty addicting little bastard.
  • Unreal Tournament 2004 has been released for the computer is frickin' awesome.  You can download a demo here.  Warning, a decent computer is needed.

The comment about Huggins looking like he was heading to play 9 holes after the game is true! That fucker better wear a suit next year, that's bull-shit. Even Tubby, that baboon, can wear a suit.

Marc, I know the movie that had Carry on Wayward Son in it. Freakin' Happy Gilmore. No wonder it was driving me crazy, how could I not know that.

Monty Python is rereleasing Life of Brian on Good Friday.

All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

Given the motivation for movies such as Gladiator and Ben Hur

Church, the correct answer is "Brought peace?
." But I'll assume you haven't seen the rest of the quote for you culturely deprived individuals:

Reg: All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
Attendee: Brought peace?
Reg: Oh, peace -- shut up!
Reg: There is not one of us who would not gladly suffer death to rid this country of the Romans once and for all.
Dissenter: Uh, well, one.
Reg: Oh, yeah, yeah, there's one. But otherwise, we're solid.

Missing a quote, out of shame I will retire from the discussion with the obligatory reference to the Judean People's Front Suicide squad and blessed are the cheesemakers

Phil on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 11:04 AM

You need shockwave installed. Try this link: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome/
