Play Mudshovel!

I was telling some people about this of the weekend, so I thought I'd proper link it up. Plus a new post was starting to look like a good idea as that last one was quickly reaching 1000 comments. Anyways, the way this thing works is you type in the name of a song or an artist and they play music similiar to it. For example, if you type in Mudshovel you'll get music "featuring hard rock roots, a subtle use of vocal harmony, repetitive melodic phrasing, mixed acoustic and electric instrumentation and a vocal-centric aesthetic." The first songs I heard were Right Here by Staid, Enemies by Pain by Numbers and Hermosa Pier by Building a Better Spaceship. You can give those songs thumbs up and thumbs down if you don't like the styles of music you are hearing.

Anyways, I like listening to lots of different types of bands so this is pretty interesting to me. Lots of good music on here and it's free.

you can also add more artists to your radio stations for more varieties by clicking on "your station."

for what it's worth, here's my station that I created. it does not include mudshovel - http://www.pandora.com/?sc=sh855006

Bigworm on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 4:47 PM

That's pretty cool Philco - I did create my own station as well.

Brock on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 5:37 PM

Phil, thank you, now I can listen to various artists that all sound a lot like Megadeth, a tricky proposition!

wes, that's a tiger, not a lion. lions don't have stripes.

douglas on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 5:47 PM

brock, no i'm not a wordy bastard, but i am the champ in posts per day, so my short, stupid, to the point posts keep me #1 on the stats page.

douglas on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 5:49 PM

i don't know the gang sign, i guess that's pre-new class, also, as we've discussed before, i've never puked at burket's. how i don't know, that's a miracle unto itself, but true.

douglas on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 5:50 PM

i have however left burket's numerous times and puked at other locations b/c of my drinking at burket's, so that should count for something. i'm not allowed to puke in the new bathroom anyway

Hey, I was at trivia last night, asses. The one time I show up. Serves me right for not checking all of natty sci first. Although I did watch i'm the juggernaut bitch. And my Bday/halloween is like the natty sci memorial day, because it means natty sci is one year older. Plus it is always epic.

man we are a lively bunch today. So 16 blocks, not bad. Wouldn't pay 8.50-9 bucks to see. Predictable good cop bad cop flick. Mos Def is suprisingly good. I couldn't help but laugh at him because the way they had him talk the entire movie was like that of handyman from in living color. I thought this film ranked high on the unintentional comedy scale.

the best part of the murder 4 people for their cheese story is that I actually checked my cell phone to make sure that the Jessica in the story had a different last name than the Jessica that used to work at o'shea's.

Phil on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 2:12 PM

i watched Boston Legal and my recorded how I met your mother.

here's the debate from lunch that jerome and I had. I contend the last two episodes were out of order. It seemed like last night was "introduce the girl to the group" night, whereas the previous episode they had known her for at least a month based on the sex wait. Now, not everyone is a cold hearted pimp like marc that keeps his girlfriends secret from his friends. But I distinctly remember the 30 day episode having people express that they liked the girl implying that they had met and formed opinions on her. Monday's episode implied that this was the meet and greet.

Further research is needed.

I try and read most links, but get pissed when there is all kinds of graphic flash stuff thats mainly advertising that slows down my computer in order to read about a monkey taking a shit. Typically, if you don't elaborate on a link, that makes it less appealing. Not that we're trying to collect hits on our links... but maybe thats a stat that should be added.

Brock on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 4:35 PM

Only 5 more posts until I hit 1200! Now this is an example of a bastard post.

Bigworm on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 4:40 PM

I do not post shit for the hell of it, I just think you fuckers needs to keep up with current affairs and what a better source than Fark.com, Philco knows what I am talking about. Furthermore, how is that any different than someone posting anything from Espn or any other site - i.e it's not!

As far as the Natty Sci legacy - I AM NATTY SCI! 2 of us got it started and we grew from there, therefore, it is my legacy to see continued! Similar to Denny Crane being Crane, Poole, and Schmidt...just accept it and move on! As far as Natty Sci Cincy goes - don't even get me started.

douglas on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 4:41 PM

Brock on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 4:49 PM

Wes, you kind of lost me in that rant... who the hell is Denny Crane? What the hell does Natty Sci Cincy have to do with anything? What does the word "therefore" mean? If Istanbul is in this general area...

When I used the term "Natty Sci Legacy," I was referring to rehashing events from the previous day, week, or years. Thus, enshrining those moments in cyberspace as well as Adrian's encyclopedic memory.

Bigworm on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 5:16 PM

Brock - There is no Natty Sci Cincy because based on what I saw when visiting, they are not the same how should we say...caliber as the original members of Natty Sci (yes you are part of Natty Sci). Natty Sci is like a fine bourbon such as Woodford Reserve, it should not be water downed with mediocre to non-existant talent just to enhance members.

Who is Denny Crane....it doesn't matter who Denny Crane is! Ah the WWE - just to tempting...Xota knows what I am talking about.

Okay, I see what you are saying about the legacy now. You are actually talking about the events that build the Natty Sci reputation to what it is. The Natty Sci legacy gets passed on with each new worthy member accepted into the group. They are tought the ways of the elders in order to continue the ideology of Natty Sci as it was meant to be done! For example, Joe's boxing out will be passed down for years to come as the way for Natty Sci to pick up chicks in the bars!

douglas on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 5:16 PM

i usually forward the monkies and other stupid links around the company, my co-workers all enjoy juvenile humor as well.

douglas on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 5:19 PM

denny crane is william shatner on boston legal, with the exception of ari on entourage, he's the best character on TV. And of course peter griffin. And Natty Sci Cincy, it doesn't really count b/c the Natty Sci Cincy party was overrun by us when we arrived and completely took over the bar and started making drinks. They weren't even going to let us drink the liquor until we got michelle. Nothing like brandy and coke w/ no ice to celebrate halloween

Brock on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 5:34 PM

Woah, woah fellas! Please do not get Natty Sci Cincy confused with Michelle's nursing buddies. There is a huge difference between drunken nurses getting ansy about random strangers drinking all their booze and the alcoholics chugging beer and bourbon on the softball field and rampaging through bars. Now, I would never claim a knock-off is as good as the original, but it can have its own merits. For example, you used the Woodford reference, I would compare the Natty Sci Cincy version to Black Label Jack... its not a KY bourbon, so its a little lesser, but a fine drink nonetheless.

Phil on Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at 5:45 PM

natty sci cinci is to kentucky cinci as liquor from cinci is to liquor from kentucky.

you have to go back across the border to get the good shit or hope someone makes a road trip down to kentucky to bring back some of the kentucky stuff. otherwise you get that watered down ohio bullshit.

i just wanted to make that comparison, i really have no opinions on the matter. well besides this one:

What the hell is wrong with the Bills? Milloy was one of the best safties in the NFL, and even though Sam Adams was a fat bastard, he could clog up the middle like nobody's business. Ditching Moulds is just the last in a string of Oakland A's moves on the part of the Bills. The difference, the A's manage to be competitive with young talent, whereas the Bills get a bunch of choade rookies. Nate Clements is their only savior!

Gents, Louisville Mojo has excommunicated me by removing all of my profiles. I guess they couldn't stand all them fine ass ho's steppin' up to be in my posse. Well, there loss, I now take the pimpin' to MySpace and do battle with J Wentworth on a national level. What have we learned from this experience:

1.) Chicks dig white guys that talk like black pimps and use phrases like: "Damn bitch, I wanna drive you home to my crib in the who-ride, flip yo ass over, bury that pretty little face of yours in my silk pillowcases and smear my man mustard all over your frame until you be rubbin' that shit in like Coppertone."

2.) The owners of MetroMojo are intimidated by my rapid acquisition of more than 30 of their finest ho's to my posse in only 4 short days.

3.) J Wentworth is an insidious force that uses mind control to dominate the pussy in the posse count on Mojo. He lives in fucking Madison Indiana for crying out loud!

This is my Alamo. That is all, I bid you adieu.

Phil on Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 5:24 AM

yeah, for the record, losing your keys AND a way to identify were you live PLUS not being able to get home is a bit discerning. At least I cancelled one of my credit cards. Marc on Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 7:59 AM

What the fuck? tons of early ass posts. I was up all-night too. Not ranting like Wade. Nor randomly up like Brent. Nor random adventure of theivery and misfortune like Phil. But i'll bet I'm gonna be beat as hell at the end of the day (which is in 12 hours).

Just a reminder, I won a party at Sully's (Fourth Street Live) tomorrow early evening. It costs $10 for all-you-can-drink for 2 hours. I drank like 20 L.I.T.s last time and then kept drinking. Trust me, I think they came close to making their money back. I don't really plan on going unless anyone else does. (So Jay, don't just randomly show up like trivia. lol) I probably won't go if no one else doesn't want to, and have no qualms about ditching the thing. here is the party info:

""Your COMPLEMENTARY Happy Hour is scheduled for Friday, March 3rd, 2006.

Your drinks are completely on us from 6pm-8pm!! You are welcome to invite as many friends and co-workers as you like (the more the merrier!!!). The drink special for anyone else is $10 all you can drink wells house mixed drinks and domestic draft beer. Also, if you bring 10 or more guests you will receive a $25 gift certificate for dinner and drinks!"

NOTE: Long ass occassionally posts like thim keep me a top at least one of the stats on the stats page. (take that Jen and Kellie.)

Marc on Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 8:08 AM

I think Phil would be more upset if his sanctuary (O'Sheas)was robbed and gutted, not simply his place for resting (his apartment) just because O'Sheas hasn't put a cot there for him. Maybe Wade and Phil need to get O'Shea's to install a Natty Sci Reserved "Booth of Doom," or Wi-fi, or figure a way for Phil to rarely leave (wait....they already did that.) Just kidding buddy. Hope they didn't get the t.v. and Nintendo laptop. Hopeful they just took the second unused mattress. Either way, it's going in the movie (the Natty Sci origin movie, not Phil's Natty Sci caper film...which I suggest would include all the same loveable characters, with new, unexplaned back stories, and where they steal the baseball diamond in Nawlin's (can anyone say location filming?! maybe a unexplained stop in Amsterdam, tax-deduct that booty for the film finance.)

Phil on Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 8:18 AM

thanks for the support, big jay and marc. I'm going to go find out in a few minutes how much damage was done to my condo over night. I'd be surprised if someone had the balls to take that TV, but I'd assume my laptop and computer are goners. But you'd have to bring a friend for the TV to get that sucker out of there.

So let's see here, things to do today
1) call all banks and cancel credit cards
2) get a lock smith to get me back into my place
3) figure out how to get a new key for my car
4) possibly report a break in
5) get new drivers license

i also need to ask the peeps at o'shea's to save their tapes of the bar from last night so maybe the police at least can figure out who did this (like they'd care, but anyways).

hmmmm, yeah...today is going to be shitty.

any one interested in taking st. patty's day off work and siting around and watching the first round on the NCAA tourney all day?

douglas on Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 9:06 AM

icould possiblybe talked into that, so there's a ton of posts btw when i left work yesterday and now.

I did hear some inside info last night on UK basketball. Remember when I was saying that when Rondo was running the offense, everybody stood around acting like they hated him? And I surmised that he probably fucked someone's girlfriend. I know I said it on here, but don't feel like finding it, so take my word. Anyway, he fucked Patrick Sparks's girlfriend, who apparently is supposed to be fine. That's why for a long time no one on the team liked his ass or wanted to play with him running the show. Thought that was interesting, that i was right anyway

joe on Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 9:15 AM

Damn I wish I played D-I athletics so I could pull a fine piece of ass. If Sparks can do it anyone can do it. Sparks is an ugly dude. My prediction is that Patrick Sparks is one big shot away from being our next Agriculutural Commissioner for Kentucky. Richie Farmer watch your back.

Phil - do you have a spare key to your Condo anywhere? If you call the car dealership they should be able to order you a new key, I think they just need the VIN number of your car. I'd definately call O'sheas right away, and make sure you change your door locks. Cancel all credit cards and bank cards (debit, ATM) and make sure no Checks are stolen.

Phil on Thursday, March 02, 2006 at 9:49 AM

the phil co condo is safe...for now. I do not have a spare key to my condo, i'm going to call the po-po and see what they recommend about getting back into my place and making sure the door locks get changed. I went by o'shea's this morning and I'm going to talk to tommy to see about keeping the tapes and the such in case I need to go criminal on this.

car key, the main thing with that is it's electronic. I believe I have the fobby they need to regenerate the key at my condo, otherwise I'll need to get my car towed in and reprogramed.

for the record, all of this because I was too lazy to put on some track pants with pockets to go drinking.

So I work with this guy named Dorion. He struts through the halls. We call it his pimp "Archbishop Don Juan Dorion" walk he claims he hurt his ankle. Well the point of my story is that he went on a flashback today about his pimping days. He claimed tennis elbow took the best out of his pimping days because he couldn't follow through on his bitches and he couldn't go to his left so he lost there respect. Long story short, hearing this guys pimping biography at work i thought was really funny and figured someone else might get a cheap laugh or two out of this.

Alright, so I was watching the game last night and I thought I saw OTS chest bump Brandon Stockton after the game last night. Keep in mind that Stockton is the guy who dove on the floor to get that lose ball to Crawford so he'd have an attempt at closing the game out, keep in mind I said attempt (I think Carson Daily might just be a genius on this whole Karma thing). And yes, OTS did give Stockton a chest bump, however, he needs to work on it...Joe and I can give him pointers!

let's be honest, sparks' woman wasn't with him for his looks, his "charming" personality or his intelligence. she wanted to be the girl dating a college basketball player. sparks had to know this, and rondo knew that since sparks has no chance in hell of going pro that he's higher on the basketball ho train totem pool, so it was easy pickens.

You know, if I actually got my ass up before 10AM, I could keep up with Joe's posting pace. However, lying in bed and not stressing about work is a much more appealing situation.

I can say this, being a lazy bastard and lying around the apartment with your woman watching movies and drinking beer doesn't get your wallet stolen, so I've at least got that going for me. Don't fret Philco, everyone has lost their wallet or keys at some point, and although its a royal pain in the ass, everything usually works out fine, its just material things, man! I guess the difference is, your material things make most of our material things look like even bigger piles of crap than what Wade leaves steaming on your floor.

interesting experience. i guess the nature of the forms is they are only concerned with the items and their value of the items stolen. so when the police lady was asking me to name all the contents of my wallet (one rubber - very old and unused) I had to got to say things like "uh, a kroger plus card...that was free." Very surreal. I'm not holding out any hope of them finding my credence tapes.

But I got the O'shea's posse getting me the video tape of the event. Ideally they might even get it so I can post it on the web so we can see the accused.

And then bring down the iron fist of natty sci justice. woooo pow!

there is a slight difference btw these statements but not enough for a solid defense.

"I don't think anyone can tell you with confidence right now whether the levees will be topped or not, but that's obviously a very, very great concern," Mayfield says in one.

In a September 1 television interview, Bush said, "I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees," a statement Chertoff agreed with three days later.

"breach" being defined as a rupture in the levee and "topped" meaning waves crash over the top. Even with topping, it's below sea level i.e. the water isn't going anywhere = flooding. clusterf$%^

From today's Courier on UL's pitching coach. I think he has a future in motivational speaking:

In his first year, he led the team to its first Florida state title in 2004.
But controversy engulfed him again last spring. According to a police report, Collazo dropped his pants in front of his players after a tough loss, "pointed to his penis, testicles and asked the team if they had a set of these or were they equipped with a vagina."
No charges were filed.

Here's a project for Natty Sci - and we could get our name out there.

Let's help break the 2 remaining German codes.

Nazi code that eluded the best cryptographers the Allied forces had to offer during World War II has been solved by an amateur codebreaker with the assistance of a network of computers.

The three uncracked ciphers -- a cipher is a method of transforming text in order to conceal its meaning -- were encrypted in 1942 with a new version of the infamous German Enigma machine, which was used to direct attacks against Allied shipping in the Atlantic.

The M4 Project, the brainchild of Stefan Krah, a violinist and amateur cryptographer of German birth, is credited with cracking one of the three remaining ciphers. The project was named in honor of the M4 Enigma machine that originally encoded the messages.

To solve the puzzling mystery, details of which had been published in a cryptography journal in 1995, Krah wrote a codebreaking program and then went online in January to post information about his project and ask for assistance.

In an interview with the BBC, Krah, a resident of Utrecht, The Netherlands, said it was "basic human curiosity" that prompted him to attempt to break the code. "Clearly, the project is from the 'because-we-can' department," Krah wrote on a bulletin board online.

Super Sleuths Unite

Krah was not looking for additional brain power when he posted his request for help online. Rather, he was trolling for more computer power. The program Krah created required the might of a series of connected computers to process his mathematical codebreaking formula.

When the response to his request for help came, Krah said, he was astonished by "the exponential growth of participants."

On January 9, when the project began, Krah counted himself as the only participant. After his announcement online, another five or so people joined and became regular participants.

That number expanded to some 2,500 computers whirring away as they ran through the 150 million permutations of each letter to crack the Enigma cipher, the top priority for Allied codebreakers at the vaunted Bletchley Park complex in Buckinghamshire, England.

Amateurs One, Pros Zero

Success for Krah came on February 20, when a jumble of 196 letters became a legible message once again after 63 years. In its encrypted form, the message appeared as follows:

NCZW VUSX PNYM INHZ XMQX SFWX WLKJ AHSH NMCO CCAK UQPM KCSM HKSE INJU SBLK IOSX CKUB HMLL XCSJ USRR DVKO HULX WCCB GVLI YXEO AHXR HKKF VDRE WEZL XOBA FGYU JQUK GRTV UKAM EURB VEKS UHHV OYHA BCJW MAKL FKLM YFVN RIZR VVRT KOFD ANJM OLBG FFLE OPRG TFLV RHOW OPBE KVWM UQFM PWPA RMFH AGKX IIBG

The unencrypted message has been translated into English and verified using existing records from Hartwig Looks, commander of the German submarine U264, that was later sunk in the North Atlantic in February 1944. The message, sent on November 25, 1942, reads:

"Forced to submerge during attack. Depth charges. Last enemy position 0830h AJ 9863, [course] 220 degrees, [speed] 8 knots. [I am] following [the enemy]. [barometer] falls 14 mb, [wind] nor-nor-east, [force] 4, visibility 10 [nautical miles]."

Krah said that he is not sure the remaining two codes will be cracked. So far, the power of thousands of PCs joined in this effort has resulted in little success. "There is no guarantee that another break will occur at all," Krah was quoted as saying. "There is simply a fair chance."

To volunteer your computer's processing power to crack the final two codes, go to www.bytereef.org/m4_project.html

joe on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 11:49 AM

Was it too loud at Oshea's to hear her over the phone?

Phil on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 11:53 AM

interesting enough, it was too loud at o'shea's to hear her over the phone, but i assume the burn was to imply that I was at o'shea's last night too.

the only money that I have right now is the big bowl of change, and even I wouldn't go to that length to drink.

joe on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 11:55 AM

So is it possible to go to Oshea's and not drink?

there is actually a dude that comes into o'shea's, orders a water and then smokes while rocking back and forth staring down, and then he gets up and leaves. never says anything to anyone, never orders anything but a single water, never even makes eye contact.

so, yes, it is possible to go into o'shea's and not drink, but it turns you into a complete nut-job.

i just reread my post and realized that it was even more poorly written than my previous posts...i watched The Office and My Name is Earl last night and went to bed. I was woken up at 2am by the drunk dial.

Brent on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 2:00 PM

Wow, I just got out of bed, I dont know how it happened but I couldnt see straight last night. In other news on Wall Street, stocks from O'sheas and Flannigans plummeted after the bars didnt rebound as they hoped after Black Wednesday--too many eggs in one wallet.

If you send Stew anything make sure its concealed very well. The only thing you are allowed to have is stupid shit like newspaper, magazines or letters, no food or nude pictures, I mean you can send that shit but it has to be hidden extremely well, as those fuckers will confiscate anything. For example, my brother sent me a snickers smashed all the hell in a newspaper; it was the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me.

Phil - you need 2 items that has your name and address printed on it along with your signature.

Really what you need is 2 forms of ID and usually one must contain a signature. If you call any license division they will give you specifics. Here is a link to the different Driver's License locations.

joe on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 2:24 PM

it is next to impossible to get through to them. I had a simple question about changing my address and i was calling for 2 hours.

Bigworm on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 2:30 PM

I called them and got through right away..they mentioned cancelled processed checks, birth certificate, etc...what i don't understand is if they take a digital pic now, shouldn't they just have it in storage? So when you show up, they will be able to see that yep it is you....a heavier version but still it's you.

ROBBERIES

Wes, I hope you are not implying I jumped the Bengal bandwagon, because back in '92, I was still going to Bengals games with my grandmother. Denounce my teams all you want, but never question my loyalty.

Without Jay and Marc posting occasional burns, the day has gone stale for Joe. This means one of two things: 1. he has planned starting a fire in his office, or 2. he has started drinking at work.

joe on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 3:22 PM

I have been to CVS in 4th street live 2 times to buy animal crackers to throw at people in the office. The food court once (child molester heaven today, some kind of field trip or convention going on) didn't even get food but stopped to watch sportscenter, and I have been tempted to stop at the pub to get a beer or 10. We did kill a cock-a-mouse today in the office.

Bigworm on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 3:39 PM

Brock - I actually posted that for Jerome, so he could get a laugh. As much as I remember, you were always a Bills fan. I had no idea your loyalty went so far back for the 1992 Bengals, but I still remember in college it was all Bills Bills Bills, no "Who Dey?".

Funny article from the Onion:

Cross-Country Champ Wishes He Were Good At Sports

March 2, 2006 | Onion Sports

WOODSIDE, CA—Cross-country runner Ryan Hall, who won the USA Track & Field open men's 12-km championship race last week, later said that his life would be so much different if only he were good at sports. "Man, what I wouldn't give to have the God-given ability to throw a baseball, run with the football, sink a 10-foot putt, or even catch a big ol' bass," said Hall, attempting to catch his breath after running seven and a half miles in just under 35 minutes. "Things would be easier, that's for sure—I'd have a fun and glamorous job, make tons of money, and I wouldn't have to stay in such goddamn good shape." Hall said that, for now, he will stick with his current career in the hopes that he may get noticed and signed by a U.S. men's soccer team.

Phil - have you ever written a check in your life? They might have a cancelled one at your bank.

Brock on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 3:47 PM

Actually, my Bengals loyalty goes back before I even knew what football was because my grandmother was so into them. I will agree with you, it was all BILLS, BILLS, BILLS in college because, even though I rooted for the Bengals, they didn't exactly give me much to cheer for. I had to root for someone in the playoffs. Now, thanks to Bills management, I don't have to worry about rooting for one or the other because they keep tanking each year while the Bengals get better.

Brent on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 3:52 PM

Bigworm on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 4:16 PM

On another note today - either Abby and I have this magic midget who deposits money into our account or we got our federal tax refund back today! Either way - watching your bank account increase by 4 grand is great!

Brock on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 4:21 PM

Damn you people and your refunds! I had to pay. Well, at least I kinda break even with my OH refund. Thank you lawn business.

Bigworm on Friday, March 03, 2006 at 4:24 PM

Well actually if you think about it I am the one who was screwed. That is 4 grand of my money that I could have been earning additional interest with, meanwhile, you were able to continue to earn interest by keeping your cash in your account. Damn the government.

Okay so that is in theory - in reality I love getting refunds because like I tell Abby, so what if we had an additional 100 bucks here and there..we'd spend it....but when I get a lump sum...that makes us put it to better use as opposed to going out and eating all the time.

I recommend ING Direct: www.ingdirect.com
They have awesome rates, and you can log on anytime to see how much you have made in interest that day or the year total, its sweet, and easy, even for us lazy bastards.

Hell must have frozen over, I found myself cheering for Cinci. They had better sign Kennedy to coach that team next year. Besides, much respect for beating the fighting inbred Pittsnoggles, though it would have been cooler had Hicks benhc pressed Pittsnoggle and thrown him into the crowd

Brock on Sunday, March 05, 2006 at 2:15 PM

Church, excellent imagery. I can see the scene from Superman II were Superman picks up General Zod and heaves him into oblivion. The place was incredible yesterday. The funniest thing about the whole game was watching little Downey dribble around WVa in circles. Pittsnogle would swipe at him like Godzilla, and he'd be at the basket already.

Now we get to fight those trailer-trash boys up in Syracuse: McNamarra and Duesuldorf.

I'm a big fan of Kennedy b/c he's a straight-shooting southerner, but I think the Ole Miss job looks far too appealing to him right now. It'd be a shame. The question is... how good a coach is Kennedy or how good is a team with 4 seniors w/ 2 NBAers in Hicks and White? Next year is going to be a nightmare b/c ZERO recruiting has gone on this year, and 5'9" Downey can't carry a whole team, but I'm sure he'll try.

Issei Sagawa is an average-looking guy but he's a celebrity in his native Japan. Constantly in demand to speak at seminars and on TV chat shows he's developed quite a cult following and his artwork sells for huge amounts of money in spite of the fact that art isn't really his speciality. So what exactly is he famous for? Basically he committed a horrible crime whilst living in Paris, which resulted in him being locked up in a secure mental hospital. However, when French authorities deported him back to Japan, a clerical error allowed his influential father to exploit a legal loophole and have him released back into society. Issei Sagawa still walks free. This is an excerpt from his confession:

"Today I must finish cutting up her body. I have to put it into suitcases and sink it in the lake. It will be her grave. I touch the cold body again and I wonder where I should start. I start to cut off all the meat before amputating the limbs. While I cut her calf I suddenly want to taste it. I see the beautiful red meat beneath the fat. I grasp her knee and her ankle, and tear it with my teeth. It is tender. I slowly chew and savor it. After eating most of the calf I look at myself in the mirror. There is grease all over my face. And then I start to eat at random. I bite her little toe. It still smells of her feet. I stab the knife into her arch and see the red meat deep inside. I thrust my fingers inside and dig out the meat and put it in my mouth. It tastes okay. Then I stab the knife into her armpit. Ever since I saw it under her yellow sleeveless top I wondered how it would taste this good.

"The wonderful taste cheers me up and I devour her underarm up to the elbow. Finally I cut off her private parts. When I touch the pubic hair it has a very bad smell. I bite her clit, but it won't come off, it just stretches. So I throw it in the frying pan and pop it in my mouth. I chew very carefully and swallow it. It is so sweet. After I swallow it, I feel her in my body and get hot. I turn the body over and open her buttocks, revealing her anus. I scoop it out with my knife and try to put it in my mouth. It smells too much. I put it in the frying pan and throw it in my mouth. It still smells. I spit it out. I go into the next room. It smell of fat, like I've been frying a chicken."

it looks like the ps3 won't be available until at least this winter: http://www.variety.com/article/VR11...amp;s=h&p=0

not a big surprise there. there are still no games on the xbox360 that I really want though. I need a Gran turismo, halo or Grand Theft Auto game to justify the purchase.

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 12:14 PM

How I Met Your Mother takes another step towards gay tonight with the long distance relationship. Risky subject.

"Cupcake"

When Victoria is offered a fellowship at a culinary institute in Germany, she and Ted are faced with some tough relationship decisions.

Phil on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 12:22 PM

i think this is just the beginning of getting shifty-eye McBigBoobs off the show.

although she is listed in the next two episode ("Life Among the Gorillas", "Nothing Good Happens After 2 A.M.").

But I swear to god, if ted goes to germany to get married in a bombed out church and then says "I take you, Robin" when he is reading his vows, but Barney has secretly fallen in love with Robin and accidently proposes to her while she's preggers, well, I'm just going to snap.

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 12:32 PM

Speaking of video games, I got my brother the first Call of Duty for X-mas, and I played a little of it last weekend. That game is ridiculous. Has anyone played the new one yet? I can't even begin to imagine the type of game they'll bring out with the PS3. Ahh... the days of Super Contra.

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 12:52 PM

so apparently i need to take my own advice. me and a friend went out the other night and he spotted a girl he liked and i told him to nut up and talk to her. he asked what he should say and i told him just to offer to buy her a drink. he comes back 30 minutes later with a phone number. granted still don't know if its her real number, but if it is, the force is strong in that one.

what's odd about the xbox360 is that the most popular games people are playing are these cheap $10 games you can download.

take a look at these games:

Marc on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 1:16 PM

The real trick is to get the number without buying a drink. That is when the padawan becomes a master. The few times i've gotten the number, some of them have been without buying the drink. Some, however, tried the classy lady move of reaching for her money when attempting to pay for drinks they've ALREADY ordered even before I approached. If i had more money i'd say so be it. but i'm too poor and cheap at the moment to haphazardly buying drinks for girls. I do that when i'm unbelievably drunk. (like two weeks ago) But I always give the same advice (which I hardly follow myself) If you go up to every girl you find hot or fascinating then maybe 90% of the time you get rejected, but the remaining 10% can be spectacular and make up for all the efforts. Live for the 10%, be a 10%er. I mean that was Brian Hacket's (Stevn Webber) philosophy on a very special episode of Wings. And fictional characters can't be wrong. unless they are talking about the pythagoren thereom in Wizard of Oz. (Scarecrow says "The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side. Oh joy! Rapture! I got a brain! How can I ever thank you enough?" it's only for right triangles you stupid scarecrow.)

Phil on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 1:30 PM

"I don't know guys, i, uh, just don't think she's fascinating"

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 1:32 PM

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 1:49 PM

So, what does anybody think of Jay's inverse wingman? In my opinion, the concept sounded good, but execution was pathetic all around.

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 1:55 PM

I managed to avoid watching any of the oscars.

douglas on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 2:00 PM

we need fair warning next time someone wants to suit up, in the future we can't allow a fellow pilot to suit up on his own, that loses some of the mystique of being suited up in the first place. it has to be all or nothing for the suit to succeed.

Bigworm on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 2:02 PM

Hmm...Joe what is this inverse wingman you speak of?

Bigworm on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 2:02 PM

True that...if not...then you just look like a jackass with a suit on.

douglas on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 2:05 PM

this is where you go up and play the "have you met my friend _____?" The intent is to make it look like you're hooking your buddy up, when in reality, you are only looking out for yourself in an effort to initiate conversation with said chick you're trying to take home. In essence, you are acting as your own wingman, however execution on Friday night was not successful b/c it has to be taken serious, not "Hey you! i'm drunk, have you met my friend _____? No, well do you wanna?"

douglas on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 2:07 PM

much like in the traditional wingman roles, there is an element of skill that must be used to pull such a difficult maneuver off, and as we realized Friday, needs practice before use in a real-life situation.

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 2:11 PM

wait, wait, wait. you're telling me the "Hey you! I'm drunk" approach doesn't work? fuuny how well that works when gender roles are reversed huh douglas?

Barry, don't reject my advice because I referenced Brian Hackett from Wings, and the Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz. Reject it becuase I never get laid.

No Barry, reject Marc's advice because his advice only nets a return of 10%. The 10% rule is for lines like, "Hey you wanna fuck?" or "Have you met my friend Joe?" Wait that last one might only work on New Years Eve with vomit breath and crying girls at midnight who just got dumped by her boyfriend because she couldnt afford braces, but who knows (just kidding Joe, her body was banging, and I was jealous).

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 2:57 PM

Anna Benson is in the new FHM good stuff. She said if he wins the cy young she will let him do anything. She said anything was 50 times up the ass. So if they get divorced since this was in writing, can he cash in on that?

Bigworm on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:20 PM

Hang on right there buddies, atleast Joe was attempting to get laid, what you need to ask yourself is what were you doing? Who cares if he was ripped to hell and back, Joe gets an A for effort, F for results, A++++ for comedy genius!

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:20 PM

Damn it brock I forgot about that one.

Bigworm on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:21 PM

is the 50 times meaning 50 strokes or 50 separate occurrences?

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:27 PM

Predict the Big East Tournament!

First round:
#8 UC over #9 Syracuse
#5 Georgetown over #12 Notre Dame

#7 Seton Hall over #10 Rutgers
#6 Pittsburgh over #11 Louisville

Quarter-finals:
#8 UC over #1 UConn (gotta believe!)
#5 Georgetown over #4 Marquette (thus silencing the "no respect" from MU)

#2 Villanova over #7 Seton Hall
#6 Pittsburgh over #3 West Virginia (completing the collapse)

Semi-finals:
#8 UC over #5 Georgetown (Kennedy hasn't lost a rematch, yet)
#2 Villanova over #6 Pittsburgh

Championship:
#8 UC over #2 Villanova (Hicks hits that 3 this time! Wes wears a Duke shirt for March Madness.)

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:29 PM

I was thinking 50 seperate occurences barry

Marc on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:29 PM

douglas on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:35 PM

wes, i'll tell you what i was doing, i was outside his door cheering him on the whole time, and also provided a crucial block on her friend that was trying to rescue her from an inevitable tuscan mule, that is if joe hadn't passed out.

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:36 PM

did you look at the link?

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:39 PM

i talked to lauren (the friend) this morning. the story of what really happened is pretty funny too. but i admit that the stretching of the story to incorporate crying is funnier.

Phil on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:40 PM

douglas deserves 100% credit for getting joe with her. Joe did everything in his power to cock block himself, but douglas kept pushing her at joe, and then finally blurted out "are you going to fuck her or what?" at which point joe stumbled into his bedroom with her in tow.

I liked marc's timeshare / ass bang joke, but it was poorly executed.

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:40 PM

Chase utley is my bitch, but i was referring to Anna Benson's boobs

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:41 PM

Predict the SEC Tournament:

FIRST ROUND
W#4 Mississippi State over E#5 South Carolina
E#3 Kentucky over W#6 Ole Miss (conveniently playing the worst team in the SEC)
E#4 Vanderbilt over W#5 Auburn
W#3 Arkansas over E#6 Georgia

QUARTERFINALS
E#1 Tennessee over W#4 Mississippi State
E#3 Kentucky over W#2 Alabama (UK earns "lock")
W#1 LSU over E#4 Vanderbilt (Funny, UC beat both of these teams)
W#3 Arkansas over E#2 Florida (FLA loses b/c they are the ugliest bunch of bitches I've ever seen)

SEMIFINALS
E#3 Kentucky over E#1 Tennessee (Vols blinded by Pearl's ridiculous blazer)
W#1 LSU over W#3 Arkansas (Tigers eats pigs don't they?)

CHAMPIONSHIP
W#1 LSU over E#3 Kentucky (Rondo is blocked by Orbzut in closing seconds b/c Rondo nailed his g/f)

Phil on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:42 PM

i don't think it's a stetch to say she was crying. she got pissed off and teared up at midnight when i didn't kiss her.

now, after the joe incident she wasn't hysterically crying, but i am 95% tears were shed over it. that girl was not stable that night.

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:44 PM

So basketball, UL plays Wednesday.

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:44 PM

Phil, this goes to show you that you did not drink enough on New Years, if you can remember these events so vividly.

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:46 PM

I just looked up legend on dictionary.com

Legend - An unverified story handed down from earlier times, especially one popularly believed to be historical.

I earned that shirt Wes

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:46 PM

Does Louisville's season end on Wednesday? or does Rick not become a bitch and play in the NIT to give Dean a well-deserved completion to his senior year?

However, Dean did blow the UConn game twice, so maybe he doesn't deserve it.

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:48 PM

i disagree as i stood outside on the front porch talking to her immediately prior to her departure. she was blushing because she was embarrassed bec. she got the slow clap. later conversations with the friend confirmed this hypothesis.

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:48 PM

Wes may have more claim to "Legend" than Joe since Joe is still currently creating history while Wes' adventures are now part of the ancient Natty Sci lore and is no longer on the active roster.

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:50 PM

Barry, this is a losing argument. They guys have engrained this story into their heads every night for the past 3 months, so trying to refute that would make people's heads explode.

Marc on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:52 PM

I think Barry is making up for lost time and trying to take Joe's titel of most posts in a day. Barry already has 24 posts today, i believe. Just a few more to go.

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:53 PM

I agree with you Brock, but the shirt is a trophy for active particapants. See if I were to ever do something stupid, I would have to pass the shirt on to an active legend

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:54 PM

didn't pitino say he changed his mind and would play but sit out the injured guys?

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:57 PM

like i said, the crying is funnier and i don't care if you keep going with it. no harm can come of it...unless joe runs for political office

Phil on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:58 PM

Pitino said that they were thinking about playing the NIT. His concern was that their "home games" couldn't be played at Freedom hall, so if need be they'd play downtown.

Like Barry said, Palacious, Padgett and whoever else is hurt won't play. It'd be more of a "have at it freshman and Dean" event.

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 3:58 PM

St. Matthew's city council here I come.

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:00 PM

Why can't they play at Freedom Hall?

Phil on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:00 PM

it's a shame that jefferson county united. I think we could have easily taken over some Mayor seats in the city. I know brock's old neighborhood would routinely have no one running for Mayor, and I bet Joe could take the seat in his city.

I would have had to run for Mayor of Louisville, which may prove more difficult.

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:00 PM

Joe, if you do run for City Council, you could make the Blow Up St. Matthews a City Holiday.

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:01 PM

the bugs are back already and there's nothing tiny about the insects around here. some have saddles.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060306..._springbreak_dc

Phil on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:01 PM

Brock, Freedom Hall is probably being used for a tractor pull or something. In all honestity, I bet pitino just used that as another "boy it'd be nice to have an arena" statement, but I do know that the last time we hosted the NIT it was a pain in the ass to schedule and it ended up with puddles forming on the court from the ice rink beneith the court...

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:01 PM

My mom was actually the Mayor of Graymoor-Devondale for 1 year.

Boondocks is a hard cartoon to watch.

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:09 PM

I think we are finally seeing the beginnings of the Natty Sci Party beginning to take shape.

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:10 PM

i don't watch it often but, i do generally get a good laugh out of the kid with cornrows

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:10 PM

If Joe and I continue to post this much, we'll catch Wes and Phil by 2015.

Brock on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:11 PM

We are officially 2 (well 1 after I post this) away from the most posts in one day. Barry leads the charge with a single-day performance record.

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:11 PM

party platforms-booze, boobs, metal, fireworks, and the slow clap

Marc on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:12 PM

oh yeah? imagine if Phil won as Louisville Mayor.
"Mayor loses waste management deal papers while drinkin in track pants at local bar." Osheas owner says " oh yeah he's here a lot, me made him a makeshift office in the back, he often sleeps there when he's too drunk to make it home." One waitress adds, "He's the best mayor to ever foddle my breasts, bend me over, and tell me 'Tonight's the night!' that I've ever known."

Actually phil you should run, and that should be our movie, that would be comdey gold.

Barry on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:12 PM

oh wait, we also want to reducechild support payments (just for you douglas)

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:13 PM

It would be funny instead of going to different churches every weekend join one parish and get on the parish council. Natty Sci on a church board?

joe on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:15 PM

we might want to dispose of the parrot pictures if anybody ever runs for office.

Marc on Monday, March 06, 2006 at 4:15 PM

Natty Sci on the church board? At least we'd be waiting until they turned 18 to bang them....and they'd be chicks.

Someone sent me an email with differences between friends and BEST friends. I will submit it hear, but change BEST freinds to Natty Sci.

FRIENDS: Never ask for anything to eat or drink.
NATTY SCI: Helps themselves and are the reason why you have no food.

FRIENDS: Calls your parents by Mr. and Mrs.
NATTY SCI: Calls your parents DAD and MOM (I change this to NATTY SCI gets your parents drunk)

FRIENDS: Would bail you out of jail.
NATTY SCI: Would be sitting next to you sayin
"We fucked up ... but that shit was fun!"

FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry.
NATTY SCI: Wont tell everyone else you cried...just laugh about it with you in private when your not down anymore.

FRIENDS: Borrows your stuff for a few days then gives it back.
NATTY SCI: Loses your shit and tells you, "My bad...here's a tissue."

FRIENDS: Only know a few things about you.
NATTY SCI: Could write a very embarrassing biography on your life story... (and probably will)

FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that is what the crowd is doing.
NATTY SCI: Will kick the whole crowds ass that left you.

FRIENDS: Would knock on your front door.
NATTY SCI: Walks right in and say "I'M HOME!"

FRIENDS: Are only through highschool.
NATTY SCI: IS for life.

FRIENDS: Will be there to take your drink away from you when they think you've had enough.
NATTY SCI: Will look at you stumbling all over the place & say "Bitch drink the rest of that you know we don't waste."

holy shit, i leave for like an hour to actually do something at work, come back, and i've got to spend 20 minutes reading all these damn posts.

Reduced child support is nice, but i don't pay that much, so i'm not going to complain.

if anyone ever runs for mayor, i'd volunteer every minute i have to help them get elected. i'm officially out of the running (way too much in the past to come and bite me in the ass should any of it go public, lots of pissed off ladies out there with broken hearts, and probably other things too), but i could be like a deputy mayor or something.

Friends: Will help you move
Natty Sci: Will help you move bodies.

i saw a movie the other day, this guy asks his friend to help him kidnap this girl who is in a coma from the hospital so they won't take her off life support. while moving the girl, the he thanks his friend for helping him, to which he replies,

"no problem, but there will undoubtedly come a time when i'll need your help to move a body, so do not forget this."

Useless info I stole from ESPN.com

If Marquis Grissom makes the Cubs, and if, say, the young Matt Murton struggles early in the season, or strains a hammy or some such sadness, the Cubs could play Marquis alongside Juan Pierre and Jacque Jones giving them what I believe to be the major leagues' first-ever All Faux French Outfield, which would, you know, be pretty funny.

Wes and Brent, I do appreciate your support in attempting to save some of my dignity from my actions on New Years. And Douglas, thanks for making it all happen.

Bigworm on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 9:53 AM

Brock - is that all you enjoy doing is pointing out teams that UC beat and UK lost to? Seriously, what does one expect when Hayes is gone (playing in the NBA now with the rockets) who was the heart and sole of this team and when The Freak (Azabuike) the most athletic forward we have, gets roped in by some smooth talking agent and his family problems. Those a big shoes to fill and now we are trying to do so with decent role players (Perry and Thomas) who should not be getting major minutes.

Did you not watch the UK vs. UF game and notice that Crawford (6'4") was guarding Noah (6'11") and Rondo (6'1") was on Horford (6'9"). This is what my program has had to deal with all year because The Freak (6'6" with a 45+ inch verticle leap and our top scorer) was roped into leaving the program. Instead of playing this we beat this team that you lost to bullshit why not just look at when we played head to head last year. What I remember is we sent your shitty team and fans home! All this after your fans were taunting my team. If you are gonna taunt us you better be ready to play ball.

UK - everyone wants to emulate, but you can't duplicate. Deal with it.

douglas on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 10:00 AM

tis true, but apparently azubuike's father was mixed up with some bad mother fuckers and had some debts to pay asap, which is why he left to play for the mighty Development League for the NBA. he couldn't wait another year

douglas on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 10:02 AM

by the time azubuike left and that dumbass morris declared for the draft, it was too late in the recruiting season to replace them with top quality players. neither of them had any business declaring, tubby knew that, and obviously he had no clue either of them was going to, hence he didn't plan accordingly b/c it's hard to plan ahead when your players are dumbassess. the response to that will be, well why did he recruit dumbasses in the first place, to which my response will be those are the first dumbasses he's ever had. even prince, hayes and bogans stuck around, and now they're doing very well in the nba

Bigworm on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 10:19 AM

I heard a rumor that Bob Huggins interviewed at UNLV. Can you imagine, Huggins, top recruits and Las Vegas night life...that is a mix for probation if I have ever seen one.

Brock on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 10:48 AM

Wow, I point out a fact of the season to a UK fan, and I get a whiny excuse response and the typical "look what we did in the past." I wasn't even looking for response by the way, I'll defer to the LSU fans for that one.

Comparing the plight of the Wildcat program this year to the Bearcat program this year is a joke. Maybe if you lost Tubby, Crawford blew his ACL, and the mysterious fax never showed up, you may have an argument. I'm pretty sure Maxiell was a more important player to UC than Hayes was to UK.

Regardless of this banter, I still hope UK and UC get good seeds this year. I don't want those bastards from Duke and Florida getting all the free rides.

Is there a team to hate in the Big East? I can't stand Krauser from Pitt, he's a bitch, but the rest of the team is so-so. I may have to nominate UConn. Jim Calhoun whines far too much for the stacked team he has. If I had two starters over 6'10" and an All-American, I would sit in my chair and enjoy it. How about coaching your team to not be lazy?
I would nominate Syracuse, but McNamarra is leaving and they got destroyed by DePaul, thats punishment enough.

Bigworm on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 10:52 AM

Whiny answer my ass...and if it must really be pointed out to you...your wins are in the past as well my friend, unless you have a Flux Capacitor with 1.21 giggawatts..cause I know where we can get a Delorean. And if that is the case, lets use it cause I want to go back and watch some good teams play basketball..like when Martin ruled the paint for the Bearcats (maybe we can actually warn him of the broken leg and alter history so you fuckers get a national championship) and the 95-96 CATS team.

Brock on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 10:53 AM

I never buy these arguments that women don't know their pregnant. Especially when you give birth to an over-6 pound baby. Thats far too big to not notice.

I'll second Phil's comment, that guy wasn't happy one bit. Guarantee there was a DNA test in there somewhere.

Brock on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 10:55 AM

My apologies Wes, I meant to say "past seasons." I do like your time traveling idea, though. Also, we could go back and tell Pitino to put a man on Hill for the inbounds.

If you know where to get a DeLorean, get it! Who cares if its capable of time travel, cruising around in a DeLorean blaring some Bon Jovi would rock!

the thrifty or wherever jay rented his truck from had a Delorean, and when Jerome and I went back to check it out it looked to be forsale (it had the warranty stuff in the window, but no price).

It looks like an '82 Delorean will run you about $24,000 now a days, although there are some for $10,000 on eBay.

I can't find the thrify one anywhere though. I bet you could get it for $6000 or so.

Hell Yeah can you imagine a suped-up Dolorean sitting outside Wicks. Girls will be swooning. So in essence it could be a "pussy wagon" but as practical as B-mac's car, and without being Midnight blue bitches.

Think Team trivia names. Last night we went with "I guess we'll have to go to NORTH Dakota for all our abortion needs" Tonight can be along similar lines. My suggestions so far.

"Dakota might be against abortion now, but she's only 12. Wait until she starts whoring it up."
"I'm gonna start investing in coat hangers, steel-toe boots, and stairs."
"Ron Popeil's New Set-It-And-Forget-It abortion kits are filling off shelf in South Dakota."
Non-abortion

"I can't believe I'm missing back-to-back episodes of 'Joey' for this shit."

Mattel recently announced the release of Limited-edition Barbie Dolls for the Louisville, Kentucky Market:

St Matthews Barbie

This princess Barbie is sold only at The Mall St Matthews. She comes with an assortment of Prada Handbags, a Lexus SUV, a longhaired foreign dog named Honey and a cookie cutter house. Available with or without tummy tuck and face lift. Workaholic Ken sold only in conjunction with "augmented" version.

Lyndon Barbie

This modern day homemaker Barbie is available with Ford Wind star Minivan and matching gym outfit. She has no full time occupation or secondary education. Traffic jamming cell phone sold separately.

Middletown Barbie

This is an upgrade to the St Matthews Barbie. Accessories include the SUV with an extra large gas tank.

Portland Barbie

This recently paroled Barbie comes with a 9 mm handgun, a Ray Lewis knife, a Chevy with dark tinted windows and a Meth Lab Kit. This model is only available after dark and must be paid for in cash (preferably small, untraceable bills). Unless you are a cop, then we don't know what you are talking about.

Anchorage Barbie

This yuppie Barbie comes with your choice of BMW convertible or Hummer H 2. Included are her own Starbucks cup, credit card and country club membership. Also available for this set are Shallow Ken and Private School Skipper. You won't be able to afford any of them.

Okolona Barbie

This pale model comes dressed in her own Wrangler jeans two sizes too small, a NASCAR shirt and tweety bird tattoo on her shoulder. She has a six-pack of Bud light and a Hank Williams, Jr. CD set. She can spit over 5 feet and kick mullet-haired Ken's butt when she is drunk. Purchase her pickup truck separately and get a confederate flag bumper sticker absolutely free.

Glenmary Barbie

This collagen injected, rhino plastic Barbie wears a leopard print outfit and drinks cosmopolitans while entertaining friends. Percocet prescription available.

Fairdale Barbie

This tobacco-chewing, brassy-haired Barbie has a pair of her own high-heeled sandals with one broken heel from the time she chased beer-gutted Ken out of Arnold
Barbie's house. Her ensemble includes low-rise acid washed jeans, fake fingernails, and a see through halter-top. Also available with a mobile home.

The Highlands Barbie

This doll is made of actual tofu. She has long straight brown hair, arch less feet, hairy armpits, no makeup and Birkenstocks with white socks. She prefers that you call her "Willow." She does not want or need a Ken doll, but if you purchase two Tower Grove Barbies and the optional Subaru wagon, you get a rainbow flag bumper sticker for free.

Newburg Barbie

This Barbie now comes with a stroller and infant doll. Optional accessories include a GED and bus pass. Gangsta Ken and his '79 Caddy were available, but are now very difficult to find since the addition of the infant.

Shively Barbie

Not much different from Fairdale Barbie - instead of the trailer, she comes with bingo chips and a rosary. We don't know where Ken is 'cause he's always hunting.

Main Street Barbie/Ken

This versatile doll can be easily converted from Barbie to Ken by simply adding or subtracting the multiple "snap-on" parts.

"Here was the low point: I fell asleep late-morning while watching TV, then woke up around noon because "Becker" came on. When "Becker" comes on, no matter how sick you are, I think your body automatically rallies to get away from it. They should use Becker re-runs to lure people out of comas. Unfortunately, I was so weak that I couldn't find the remote, so I was stuck there enduring "Becker" … and it turned out to be an episode in which the Sklar Brothers play twins who are dating someone in Becker's office. Now I'm in the third circle of hell. So I just started screaming like a nursing home patient until my wife came in to save the day. See, there ARE valid reasons to get married."

Douglas - big money is in the developing business where those fuckers like Thieneman who develop entire neighborhoods of like 330 houses in the ballpark of 185K (phase 1 houses) to 300+K (phase 4 houses) steer potential buyers to a certain loan officer if you get my point.

Shit I am gonna buy some home designer software, meet some mexicans, and start building houses. Genius.

It also set up some more barney centric episodes at his office, and with the long distance relationship it looks like it could be making a turn for the best.

Phil on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 3:44 PM

Before I lay me down to sleep, I pray for a man, who's not a creep, One who's handsome, smart and strong One who loves to listen long, One who thinks before he speaks, One who'll call, not wait for weeks. I pray he's gainfully employed, When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed. Pulls out my chair and opens my door, Massages my back and begs to do more. Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind, Knows what to answer to "how big is my behind?" I pray that this man will love me to no end, And always be my very best friend. Amen.

MALE PRAYER

I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with huge boobs who owns a liquor store and a fishing boat. This doesn't rhyme and I don't give a shit Amen

Bigworm on Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 7:29 PM

Design #1 is more artistic, that is why it is winning.

Phil on Wednesday, March 08, 2006 at 2:16 AM

so i was at wicks with some people, and we were talking with some guy. turned out to be Todd Whitener from Tantric. He ended up singing some bon jovi songs with Kimit and Doug up at Wicks, including shot through the heart.

Good times...good times.

Kirby Puckett: Proof that god hates indoor baseball.

Bigworm on Wednesday, March 08, 2006 at 9:14 AM

Wow, you can't make fun of KP.

When I was at Schwarz, there was another fella who drove up from the ville daily. This guy was a huge Kimit and Doug fan and followed them around from bar to bar, also don't they have some CDs out, cause I think he bought some.

Of the 27 percent who said they had attended a college spring break trip:

_More than half said they regretted getting sick from drinking on the trip.

_About 40 percent said they regretted passing out or not remembering what they did.

_10 percent said they regretted engaging in public or group sexual activity.

_More than half were underage when they first drank alcohol on a spring break trip.

sounds like a night at my house.

People have been down on Cuse...all year....even though they play in the big east..they hven't really produced this year. Brock ask Dean how how it is to carry a team on your shoulders, he knows. It is fun to watch Jim Boheim grovel and try to defend his shitty team. However, UC might now be considered a quality win and help them into the tourney.

So if Cuse is in...is cinci out?

Barry on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 12:06 PM

i'm on adrian's side on this one. you gotta keep in mind that g-mac was on boeheim's only championship team and actually stuck around for four years. he probably looks at g-mac as one of his kids and while it wasn't done in a classy manner, he was sticking up for him. he chose to do it then, bec. g-mac had just shown his worth.

Marc on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 12:09 PM

mmmmm, I do love the spicy garlic. And its $.50 Boneless wing day. Not to mention I have $5 coming towards me with a seldom used "Grub Club" card. Yes all the moons are aligning. I was told they got rid of the Smoky Southwestern sauce. Similar to any smoky barbeque sauce. It was an occassional dabble on mine. I think I recommended it to Adrian once because he can barely handle mild. All this talk is making me hungry. I finished my 3 separate papers for today. and now just have two huge tests. yeeha! still wanting to get some damn boneless wings before them though. I should be fine on the math test. need to study more for social studies. OH and NO BRENT, I am not purposely making this post long to keep up my one stat. I just hardly talk until I vomit a bunch of shit that no one ever listens to or reads. But I admit this post won't hurt my single stat. haha

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:32 PM

You know what, his chances might not be that great...but he is a superb athlete..so I give him better than what Whitlock is giving him.

Phil on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:36 PM

i think you missed the point of the article, wes. yeah, he's a great athlete, but that's not what makes a QB in the NFL. Great athlete with no work ethic = WR (or Ryan Leaf if you can't run)

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:45 PM

Actually - I didn't read the article, but I can already tell you without reading it that it is the same shit people have been writing since he entered the college game I assure you. Blah blah blah...he has proved himself at every level of the game thus far, because the kid has the heart and desire to be a winner. He has the heart of Doug Flutie with the body to be a great QB, IMO only time will tell.

Granted I think he is much better suited for the college game, but everytime I think that, he comes up big and by big I mean defying the odds. What he did to USC was simply ridiculous, plain and simple.

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:49 PM

And by that performace, and hell through in the victory at Ohio State where it took all 3 highly talented linebacker anchored by All-American AJ fucking Hawk to contain this guy..not stop...but contain. One on one...not one of those linebackers including Hawk couldn't stop Vince.

Do I think Young is the most polished quarterback in the draft, heck no! But he is highly accurate. He is a more athletic version of Jason Campbell, former Auburn qb and first rounder last year in the NFL draft, so why not give him a chance?

IMO, he will pan out better than Redman and Couch...but that isn't say to much.

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:50 PM

So whitlock and doyle can blow me!

Brock on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:54 PM

Damnit! Temple is beating GW!

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:55 PM

And if you are going to write an article about Young and the NFL...atleast be original instead of writing the same garbage everyone already talks about during every single analyst interview.

And when it comes to people being taken in the drafts or being rated...Adam Morrison of Gonzaga was rated #290 in his HS senior class...look at how he turned out.

Montana was a late round draft pick, yet looked at how he produced in the NFL. The point is, there are trends that analyst go by to rank people or certain attributes that people have...and IMO they are missing Young's heart on that list. A superbly gifted athlete who plays with his heart on the line every single game is the most dangerous athlete you will find.

Was MJ good...yeah, but he played at a higher level during the playoffs because he cared...he had heart!

Barry on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:57 PM

I agree Wes. I don't think showing up somewhere with a posse means you don't have a good work ethic. Mack Brown never bitched about his work ethic. If I remember correctly, Mack was complementary on VY's film time. And as far as quarterbacks being humble..bs. Jim McMahon has a Super Bowl ring (granted largely due to defense and Walter Payton) and Montana was apparently too humble to show up at the last Super Bowl for less than $200,000.

Phil on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:58 PM

read the article, wes.

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:58 PM

And here is the other thing....what more does Vince Young have to prove at the collegiate level?

Win the heisman? He just destroyed a team that has 2 heisman winners and a 3rd candidate (White) almost single handedly. Granted Texas has a killer defense, but combining for 500+ yards by one person is a miraculous feat!

Phil on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:05 PM

wes, i'm not even sure what you are talking about.

no one questioned his heart. no one questioned his athletic ability

they are questioning why he's acting like such a fuck up, and who wants a fuck up leading their team? that is what is hurting his stock.

Barry on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:05 PM

i did like this line though
"Playing quarterback in the NFL is the equivalent of getting in the sack with Jenna Jameson. Oh, everybody wants to do it, but it can be an incredibly humbling and "short" experience."

douglas on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:07 PM

so wes, how do you really feel? does vince young know you desperately want to suck his cock?

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:07 PM

That's exaclty right. For someone to dismantle USC they way he did isn't because he is a superb athlete..it's because he knew their tendancies better than they did. He puts in the time, and I personally think he will do much better in the NFL than people think he will.

Teams with shifting defenses fuck with NFL QB's all the time, and it doesn't matter if you score a 16 (in 2 tries) or a 30. I am pretty sure that Whitlock or you (Philco) doesn't know his work ethic/willing to preper....but you know what, to reach the level he has against the competition he plays against suggests otherwise to me.

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:10 PM

Hey - I am a Texas football fan first of all. It just blows my mind when you have all these people pretty much stacking the cards against someone, when he proves week after week time and time again, that he might indeed be ready to move on.

Like I said, he might not be as good in the NFL as a QB as he is in college, and I think his game is more for the college field, however, with his frame and desire he is far more dangerous than I think anyone gives him credit for.

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:16 PM

Philco - the guy is a proven leader, he doesn't act like Marcus Vick or his brother Michael Vick for that statement. He doesn't act like TO, nor does he bitch like Randy Moss!

And to believe that the last 2 months of how he presents himself off the field even compares to the past 2 years of how he performs on the field and the accomplishments that he has done, simply blows my mind.

Granted it isn't a great PR move, but I doubt it will hurt his draft status to the extent that el fucko (Whitlock) is wanting the general public to believe.

Phil on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:23 PM

not to stop the vince young love fest, but did anyone see the Japanese team play? They got some pretty fancy looking batting helmets: http://espn-i.starwave.com/media/ap...13703031253.jpg

Barry on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:25 PM

so, i've read the article 3 times now and it still sounds like whitlock's just a hater (probably a USC fan). He makes countless statements about what VY thinks and feels and offers no statements or actions by Young that really support the claims. Example :
"Vince Young foolishly thinks that the Texas Longhorns and Mack Brown are more important than the Houston Texans and Gary Kubiak."
Is this based on the fact that he left the longhorns early instead of spending another year with this "more important" team or is it based on Young saying he would love to play for Houston?
"This isn't the University of Texas, and Young is no longer able to rely on his superior athleticism and instincts to outduel his competitors."
Was it his arrogance, superior athleticism, or instincts that made him check all three of his receivers and notice that defensive end had come in too sharp BEFORE he took off for the game winning touchdown against USC?

adrian on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 2:56 PM

Is the wicked DIM declaration given you shit again Phil?

Bigworm on Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 3:23 PM

This is what I say. Perhaps VY is acting the way he is, because that is who he is.

The same shit that Whitlock is calling out Young on, can be said about us! Even though we are assholes and alcoholics and we carry ourselves with out 1/10th the class that Vince Young does, we still have decent jobs. Are we millionaires, no, but I am sure we have all done shit that would make VY look like he is carrying himself like Jesus Christ himself.

For example - my $100 dollar bar tab after the gift certificate night. During the weekday and exuding CLASS (in reality I was more like the C and the L away from what I really was that night).

Another example - Marc and Doug whoring Chris and I out so they could get with some ugly college girls (not sure where this fits in, but it's always a good burn).

Another - Philco goes to a bar in athletic shorts and a long sleeve shirt smelling the place up (A crime in itself) and being oh so responsible as to get plastered (weekday and work is the next day) then having someone steal your shit because you are so drunk.

Another - Joe's boxing out at the bar (oozes with comedy, but the state of his mind was far from class)

Another - Anytime Douglas and I get together and get drunk

Another - Wade leaving a good morning howdy on Phil's floor

Another Claire puking on Phil's wall

Another - Chris yelling bible verses to a homeless bum at White Castle's

Keep in mind this list is pretty recent, so before people start pointing the finger and comment on how one Vince Young carries himself, just remember this: Hey pot it's the kettle!

douglas on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 12:07 PM

not to mention how male's new AD is the old AD at Waggener, he got ran out by Waggener cuz he was skimming money under the table from proceeds at football games by having his six slaves (aka his own children) work the games and not keeping any books or records about where the money is going, so what happens, he gets hired by male for an even higher salary cuz he's buddy buddy with bob redman at male, who used to coach at waggener, but got fired by waggener cuz they found out he was recruiting. didnt' go over too well at waggener, went over just fine at male. so now the AD (Bob Stewart) is being even more shady at male and making more money ( both legally and otherwise). just imagine, if chris redman were a couple years older, he would've been playing at waggener, not male

it's the shagari show!

douglas on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:17 PM

damn shegari is ugly as hell playing ball, but he just threw down a nice slam and got fouled

joe on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:18 PM

did he really just block three then make an alley oop?

Bigworm on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:19 PM

And he ran the floor! Almost like he had some speed.

That is some fucking crazy shit right there.

Phil on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:20 PM

it was better than an alley oop! he caught the ball, kept it above his head and then dunked it!

i don't think anyone from Louisville or UK did anything like that all season. Think about it! Not dribbling after getting the ball in the paint and then going up strong!

MY MIND IS BLOWN!

Phil on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:21 PM

Bigworm on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:26 PM

OMG...Shagari...it is sad but Bama doesn't have an answer for him!

Phil on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:32 PM

i like that godfried just let him run wild for 4 minutes with the crowd going crazy without even trying to make a move.

he looked like Coach Klein disapearing and trying to escape the game after Coach Red Beaulieu stopped running an offense. But there was no waterboy to inspire him. He just sat there with a dumb look on his face.

douglas on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:37 PM

people saw me watching the game and i had a small crowd gathered around my desk for the uk game. they're all coming back for the 2nd half.my office thanks you wes

Bigworm on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:38 PM

Yep, blows the mind. Currently, both of these teams are considered locks for the tourney so maybe he is just watching how his team handles the pressure, however, with South Carolina upsetting UT today, if htey win it all, they might crap on one of these teams.

Possibly a UCONN/UK 2nd round game. Bring on them Huskies.

Marc on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 7:34 AM

Hey Sci members with ladies (so what is that like 3 of us?) Don't forget to tell your ladies that tomorrow March 14th is "Steak and Blowjob day" (just like betting points at trivia...this will mean more to you then some others.) Maybe I should call up that chick I took on a Valentine's Day Date and tell in "Okay now it's your turn." I'm not even a steak kinda guy. I'd settle for super pretzels with cheese...and blowjob. But that because i'm a nice guy and i love me some super pretzels.

Marc on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 7:43 AM

Someone talked about making t-shirts for "Blowing Up St Matthews" a while back when we dropped the ball for making ones for GBITT. Is that still a plan, or do we still want to? or did the Natty Psyhed idea calm down? If we decide to we should start planning it now or soon so we don't put it off too late again. Or we could get a really early start for the next GBITT t-shirt (which might look like Cat's designs but with the date changed.) just some thoughts to get the conversation following this morning. (thus give Joe and Douglas something to do and discuss.)

joe on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 8:02 AM

All I can say is that it is bull shit that How I Met Your Mother is not on tonight because of that new fucking Julia Louise Dreyfuss show. Any fucking idiot knows that it isn't going to work. Didn't she already have one post Seinfeld sitcom cancelled? Also, was American Dad cancelled or was that simply an attempt to get Free Ride some exposure?

Marc on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 8:12 AM

She's had TWO post Seinfeld flops (not counting Curb Your Enthusiam) and I guess even NBC knows not to pick her up anymore. That does suck about How I Met Your Mother. But maybe it'll get some more Natty Sci blood at trivia.

I am all in favor of a GBITT t-shirt, BUSM isn't quit the caliber that GBITT is.

Bigworm on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 9:26 AM

Florida and South Alabama might be a good game actually. Billy the Kid vs. John Pelphrey (ex-UK player when Donavan was assistant coach, former assistant under Billy D)

Jay on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 9:42 AM

The thing about BUSM is that every on on joes street participates, since it is their block party, so they would all have to be included. As far as Drink in the New Year, we should certainly start planning for t-shirts. And they should definitely have a mule on them.

joe on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10:11 AM

that is strange. It is blank for me

Bigworm on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10:12 AM

Dear Abby that a UK fan wrote. Not sure if it was really printed but he claims it was and I am not gonna waste the time looking for it.

Dear Abby,

I don't know what to do. My story in brief:

My parents live in Bowling Green and one of my sisters, who lives in Richmond, is married to a transvestite. My father and mother have recently been arrested for growing and selling marijuana. They are financially dependent on my other two sisters, who are prostitutes in Knoxville.

I have two brothers; one is currently serving a non-parole life sentence for armed robbery. My other brother is currently in jail awaiting charges of spousal abuse.

I have recently become engaged to a very nice girl from a respectable Kentucky family.

All things considered, my problem is this. I love my fiancé and look forward to bringing her into the family. I certainly want to be totally open and honest with her.

Should I tell her about my cousin who's a Louisville fan?

Signed,

Worried about what she'll think

Phil on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10:29 AM

i'm going to go out on a limb and say that dear abby never printed that. a quick search on google has these idenities for the cousin:
supports George W. Bush
suppoers John Kerry
married to an australian
an oboe player
marine engineer
at purdue
Bob Dylan fan
jazz musician
works for my company (?)
french (that doesn't even make sense)
in the siding business
plays for the Minnesota Vikings
works for Algoma Steel
works at IBM
Blue Bull
is a Stephen Harper supporter
an Eagles fan
an Auburn fan
a Gordon Cambell suppoerter
a Liverpool supporter
a Cheetah suppoter (?)
and my favorite: supports Pedro Rosselló for Governor

although with the two brothers in jail for armed robbery and beating their wives, along with the parents selling pot and the two knoxville whores for sisters...well, that really sells the UK fan angle.

douglas on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10:39 AM

not so much the knoxville whores, no real self respecting uk fan would allow their sisters to prostitute themselves to volunteers

Phil on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10:47 AM

if i were changing it around, clearly the sisters should have been Fort Knox whores

Church on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10:50 AM

Joe, U of L's page has a decent bracket. Tickets went on sell at nine this morning.
5 questions about the NCAA Tourney
1. Why did Tennessee get a 2 seed above LSU or Florida?
2. Who will be the first number one to go down?
3. How do you take Seton Hall and not Cincy
4. Why the hell does the Colonial get two in the tourney
5. WHY AIR FORCE?

Anyone have any picks for the upsets this year? Also, Brock UC did get screwed and was rewarded with a first round NIT game with Charlotte

adrian on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10:56 AM

1) Florida should have received #2 seed
2) UCONN will be the first #1 seed to go down (2nd round)
3) Can't Explain
4) Questions that make you go hum.............
5) Can't Explain

adrian on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM

I might be taking G-Town to the final four

douglas on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:02 AM

i love my cats, and i'm gonna root my ass off for them to beat UConn, but i don't see it happening, even if they barely beat a shitty U of L team. With that said, the first 1 seed to go down will probably be UConn or Memphis.

adrian on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:09 AM

I picked 5 of the 8 Big Gay teams to lose first round.

Brock on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:10 AM

1. I agree with Adrian, the #2 belonged to Florida
2. Duke will go down first (with Memphis running close behind) We will really see how awesome the Big East is this year.
3. Seton Hall beat Cincy head-to-head in New Jersey. However, Seton Hall went out and go thumped by RUTGERs in the 1st round of the BEast Tourney. Cincy lost on a prayer by Jizz-Mac, the eventual BEast champs.
4. B/c the committee had 7 people from little conferences and the NCAA bought the NIT - they need some big names to bring money.
5. Fuck, if you read Andy Katz' article on ESPN, he said the last team out was Western KY. Welcome to the generation of fucktards on the selection committee.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/ncaat...tory?id=2366073

Charlotte will get stomped this year, they don't have some dirty ass Mexican running the point anymore, so their time is up.

Bigworm on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:10 AM

Philco - Yeah I know, however, they don't even compare to a family member who roots for little brother.

and for the record.

Big Brother is in the Big Dance and little brother is in the little dance.

Way to battle it out for number 66 baby!

Brock on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:15 AM

San Diego State over Indiana - The Aztecs look VERY athletic, and Steve Fischer is coaching them, which means they are the best athletes money can buy.

Sleeper: Wisconsin-Milwaukee again?

Big East: 6 of the 8 will be in the Sweet Sixteen, thus proving the committee was ignorant.

Brock on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:17 AM

Wes, I wouldn't harass the NIT bids so much. The Wildcats have their favorate team in the first round... mighty UAB. Squeaky Johnson!

adrian on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:21 AM

UK could have easily been in the NIT also. I am glad they aren't but they could have been.

6 of 8 Big Gay teams in Sweet 16? ... hum....

Bigworm on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:22 AM

1. UT swept florida in the regular season and has a higher SOS and higher RPI. UF won the SEC tourney, but when you play a butter OOC schedule it doesn't help you much.

2. Memphis by Arkansas in Round 2. (UCONN gets beat by UK in round 2 but Memphis plays the earlier game, Duke loses to LSU in round 3, Nova gets dismantled by UF in elite 8). No #1 makes it to the final 4, calling it now.

3. Seton Hall finished 7th in the Big East conference, Cinci was 8, Cuse was 9. Cuse beat Cinci in the tourney, Seton Hall beat Cinci in regular season. Cinci should have been in before Air Force or Bradley.

4. Strong RPIs and Decent Conference Rankings. Also because more notable teams like The ville, Cinci, Michigan, etc... didn't take care of business during the regular season or conference tournaments. Big East already set new tourney record with 8 teams in, no way they were getting a 9th. Plus, The selection committee likes intriguing match-ups and they also own the NIT. Now you have 2 tourney that can make lots of money because the ville, michigan, Cinci fans will travel to see them play, whereas, No. 2 colonial team only will for the big dance.

5. Air Force got in because UF beat South Carolina. Once again not another Big East team so they gave love to the little guy.

Bigworm on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:24 AM

Personally, I would have liked to have seen UC vs. The ville for the play in game.

Bigworm on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:25 AM

UK actually has the guard to match up with UAB this time. This would be my game plan all game long, play shag and morris all game, lob alley oops from 1/2 court all game long. UAB can't defend that.

Bigworm on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:26 AM

And i'd practive 6 on 5 all week in practice to get UK players use to seeing that kidn of defensive pressure and spotting the open man.

Church on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:28 AM

Teams I think could make a run
LSU
Georgetown
and hell, IU, if they play like they did at the beginning of the season and Mike Davis doesn't try to coach, could make the final 8.
What does everyone think about Winthrop taking out UT

Phil on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:54 AM

Brock on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:54 AM

Wow, the events committee I am on at work is sponsoring an NIT bracket challenge. We advertise as "a 2nd tier committee sponsoring a 2nd tier bracket."

Brock on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:57 AM

That doesn't make a lot of sense, they just picked up Doug Johnson, and Craig Krenzel is younger than Redman (plus he has a degree in Molecular Genetics).

Is Redman thinking about playing TE for the Bengals?

joe on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:57 AM

for those that didn't hear friday night, I was watching mtv cribs and jerry oconnell was on with his brother. His brother was sporting a chris redman jersey. Redman is awesome.

Barry on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 12:00 PM

f@#! those f$%^ing f#$%ers. LSU four seed my a@#! if you're gonna give us a four seed, don't give tennessee a g.d. 2 seed. i don't know how we'll do, I think the Atlanta bracket is actually pretty tough with the dukies and the horns. Big Baby has problems with seven footers sometimes (Alleyne) because he's 6'9" and can't jump, thus Aldridge could be a problem (if we make it that far). But Tyrus Thomas will be back and he doesn't have a problem with them. Look for Garrett Temple to guard Redick (again if we make it that far). He's only a freshman and if you watch him shoot, you wonder why he starts...defense. He is on his guys like glue, though Redick will certainly be a bigger challenge than he's use to. Anyway good luck on your brackets guys. Geaux Tigers.

"If we start talking RPI then Missouri State is in long before UC. I am not saying that I think Air Force should have been in, but I definitely don't see all the fuss about UC. Hmmm...so who is the mess?

i'm not so sure about Memphis (did conference play soften them up?), UCLA (maybe just bec. i hate the pac-10), or Gonzaga (partial east coast bias again) and I like the way Kansas is playing right now and Pitt's playing well too. maybe i should give up my bias and give into morrison's stache.
